Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Foreshadowing

Several months passed, and finally, the announcement of who had qualified to be part of the UOS divisions arrived. Marina and Valencia were both enthusiastic yet slightly terrified to see the results. They were sitting together in a park in Nexus City.

"Please... yes! I'm in, friend!" Valencia shouted with joy, jumping up and down as she saw the announcement on her tablet.

Sitting beside her, Marina was startled by her best friend's outburst.

"Hey, open yours! I want to see if you made it too." With a curious tone, Valencia urged Marina to check immediately.

"Y-yes, be patient. Let's see, Science Division...." Marina entered the announcement page and began typing the division she had chosen to search the list.

"Well? Have you found your name yet?" From behind, Valencia placed her hands on Marina's shoulders.

After searching through the long list of successful candidates for a few moments, Marina found exactly what she was hoping for.

"I-I'm accepted, look at this!" Marina's finger pointed to her name on the announcement list.

"Hooray, we both made it!" Suddenly, Valencia hugged Marina and shook her enthusiastically.

"Waaa, let go, Valen!" Marina seemingly couldn't handle her best friend's erratic behavior.

Around them, many other young people also appeared overjoyed; it seemed they were also applicants. Valencia continued to shake Marina's body.

"Valen, stop." Finally, Valencia stopped, leaving Marina feeling dizzy from the treatment.

"Hehe, sorry. I just couldn't contain this joy and excitement." Like a fire still burning strong, Valencia stood tall and firm.

"Hmph, you!" Marina's face looked annoyed at her friend, who had nearly caused her glasses to fall to the ground.

"Forget it. Where are you going after this?" The sound of birds chirping filled the park, adorned by a blueish evening sky.

"I think I'll head home, Valen. I still have a lot to prepare before we undergo training." Marina stood up; her long white hair fluttered in the wind, and her red eyes looked mesmerizing.

"Hehe, alright then. I have to prepare many things too, especially since I'm in the Spartan Division." Valencia imagined herself becoming a soldier of the Spartan Division.

"It's getting late, Valen. I-I'll be going now. Bye...." Marina walked away, leaving Valencia still standing near the park bench.

"Yeah, alright. Take care, my beautiful and smart friend. See you later!" After waving to Marina, Valencia slowly walked out of the park.

A bus was seen approaching the park stop, and Marina boarded it to return home. Meanwhile, Valencia was seen running on the sidewalk teeming with activity. From afar, Marina watched her and shook her head.

"Classic Valencia. There's still a month before training begins." Marina's expression was one of both bewilderment and happiness for her friend.

The bus then pulled away from the stop.

Meanwhile, in a place far from Planet Romeus and Sector A, there was a derelict space station. Surrounded by numerous asteroids, it gave off a piercing, cold aura. Several small spacecraft were seen nearby.

At the core of the station, a group of people had gathered. Their auras suggested they possessed power and were a threat not to be taken lightly. They circled a table with a holographic device in the center.

"Haa, so when are we going to take action?" A figure wearing a hat and a robe questioned the others, who had yet to do anything.

"Be patient, Flows. We still need to observe the situation," a masked figure spoke to The Flows in a cold tone.

"Heh, you're too cautious, Illusion. We haven't acted in months." With a voice like flowing water, The Flows countered The Illusion's remark.

Suddenly, a blonde-haired figure with glasses interrupted the conversation.

"We shouldn't be reckless, Flows. We need a well-thought-out plan. I am still calculating every step and possibility we might take." He displayed the data he was calculating—various steps and probabilities for their upcoming plan.

"Fine, Mastermind. I will wait," The Flows replied with a hint of disappointment, but there was no other choice.

Another cloaked figure appeared, playing with a deck of cards in his hands as he began to speak.

"He will start soon. He said he needed to find a secure situation before beginning this meeting. Prepare yourselves, everyone." With a heavy yet powerful voice, the figure told the others to get ready.

"The Joker... so it's true we're carrying out this plan soon?" With an intimidating gaze, a red-eyed figure asked about the plan they were about to execute.

"Yes, Fear. We are doing this. Furthermore, we will be targeting one of their vital facilities." Short and concise, The Joker emphasized that their plan would proceed. The Fear finally understood.

"Heh, fine." After that, The Joker activated the hologram in their midst, and a figure appeared who seemed to be an important person in the government.

"I have observed and decided everything. We will attack this facility. It will cause them temporary paralysis." The hologram displayed the facility, and everyone observed it with serious expressions.

The Sagitarius Galaxy was preparing to face something. It seemed the UOS would be called to action again after a few months of peace. And the plan of that mysterious group looked very convincing.
