Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: The Policewoman and Sharon

Bella opened the first aid kit at her waist and injected the policewoman with a shot of adrenaline.

A full recovery was impossible, but it would at least get her moving again.

She spoke into the policewoman's ear: "Are you awake? Can you hear me? I'm going to rescue Sharon, and I need your help now."

Shaw was a ghost; that was an indisputable fact. Even though this Jewish church was dilapidated, a ghost still couldn't enter. The might of God wasn't something to joke about. Now, Bella's only helper was this severely injured policewoman.

The policewoman's skin was burned over large areas, but fortunately, her vision was still intact. She forced her eyes open, bit her lip tightly, and nodded with all her might.

Bella took out a pistol and handed it to her, pointing to a ladder on the other side. "I'll go save Sharon. You cover me! Just ten seconds!"

The sense of duty combined with the adrenaline made the policewoman take deep breaths. She checked the pistol's ammo and said in a hoarse voice, "Leave it to me!"

She stood up abruptly and opened fire frantically at the cultists.

Collateral damage, innocent bystanders—those concepts didn't exist here. These people wanted to burn her alive; there were no innocents here! They all deserved to die!

She fired quickly, but there were too many enemies on the other side. Soon, she took a bullet.

The policewoman glanced casually at it. The hit area was already burnt; the bullet striking her body caused no sensation at all.

She didn't retreat half a step. Standing straight, holding the gun with both hands, she continued to suppress the opposing firepower with a steady bang-bang-bang.

Relying on the policewoman's fearless support, Bella ran quickly to the other side. With one punch, she broke the wooden rack and extended her left hand to catch 006's adopted daughter, Sharon.

Her movements were extremely fast, but there were still quite a few cultists on the scene. Shouting, they tried to tackle Bella.

In her haste, she had no time to detour. Seeing a foul-smelling cultist rushing over, she held Sharon with her left hand and raised her right leg high, stomping on the cultist's knee. The kneecap shattered into several pieces on the spot. Accompanied by the opponent's unusually shrill scream, Bella leaped up, jumping five or six meters into the air.

While in mid-air, she drew another M1911. Utilizing that brief moment of hang time, she fired several shots at the cultists blocking the way below. Honestly, this pose was very cool, but shooting accuracy couldn't be guaranteed...

Her tally: one kill, three wounded.

After landing, Bella created an Ice Rapier. Killing over a dozen people with a wave of her hand, she then stepped through the blood and filth, circling to the other side to rendezvous with the policewoman.

"I'm your father's friend. I'm here to save you!" Only now did Bella have the leisure to size up the little girl in her arms.

Pure! That was her first reaction upon seeing Sharon's eyes. Human eyes as pure as water—previously, she thought it was just a rhetorical device in literature, but now she had truly seen it.

Sharon's eyes were extremely clean, without a trace of impurity. This was completely the incarnation of goodwill. Even Bella was dazed for a very brief moment.

No wonder that guy 006 valued his adopted daughter so much. For her, he even cast aside his deep hatred. This daughter truly made one's heart ache for her.

It was hard to believe there were people insane enough to want to burn this child alive.

"You are a good person. I believe you." Sharon's expression still carried nervousness and fear, but she held Bella's hand sincerely, expressing her trust.

Bella looked up at the surroundings. The cultists were initially caught off guard, and combined with her and Shaw's superhuman performance, more than half of the two-hundred-strong cultist group had been killed.

At this moment, the church was strewn with corpses and rivers of blood; the battle record could be called extremely glorious.

But now the cultists had reacted. Those with guns fired; those without went to the armory in the back to get weapons. There were still seventy or eighty people shooting at her—that was more than enough to make things ugly.

Seventy or eighty people—not too many, but not too few either.

Bella estimated she could wipe out all these cultists; at most, it would just take a bit of time.

But when two cultists walked out aggressively carrying flamethrowers, her confidence wavered a bit.

Fire... how could she dodge that? This was practically a boss fight mechanic!

"Hold on! I'll take you and break out. My partner is right outside!" Bella said to the two beside her.

If she couldn't win, she'd run. She had no reason to fight to the death. There was no need to return the way she came; the cultists were tightly guarding the exit to prevent her escape. Bella sized up the surroundings—screw it, let's smash through the wall!

"Follow me!" Bella had Sharon hold onto her neck from behind. With her left hand pulling the severely injured policewoman, she charged toward the wall on the left side of the church.

The cultists didn't understand her intention, but they still tried desperately to stop her.

Various firearms aimed at her and fired frantically.

Carrying a child on her back and dragging a policewoman, Bella's speed was reduced by more than half. She could no longer run fast enough to leave afterimages. She dodged what she could; what she couldn't dodge, she sliced at with her Ice Rapier, batting bullets out of the air.

Bella's dynamic vision and speed were undoubtedly better than Deadpool's would be in the future, but the Ice Rapier was nowhere near as tough as his katana. Slashing was a bit strenuous.

As she fought, the rapier shortened bit by bit. Seeing three more bullets coming at her face—one of which would hit Sharon—she subconsciously grabbed a thick book from the baptismal font nearby to defend.

Clang-clang-clang! The crisp sounds stunned her. She subconsciously looked at the book's cover. In the bottom right corner, a line of small Hebrew text read: The Metatron's Tome!

This book is badass! Just what did Metatron write in here? Bella was distracted for a moment, and her dynamic vision capture slowed by a small step. Although she realized it quickly and tried her best to dodge, she still took two shots.

One in the shoulder, one in the arm. Fresh blood dyed her sleeves red, hurting like hell. But this wasn't the time for healing. Clamping The Metatron's Tome under her arm, she shouted, "Close your eyes!"

She accelerated suddenly, slamming her uninjured shoulder into the church wall. Accompanied by a loud boom, she blasted a human-shaped hole through the church wall, then gritted her teeth and ran toward the pickup.

"I'll cover you! You take the child and go!" The policewoman didn't know how badly Bella was hurt. Feeling she was a burden, she wanted to use her own life to buy time for her.

"Cut the crap and run! If we can save one, we'll save one. If we can save two, even better!" Bella threw the Ice Rapier toward the cultists. Her good arm dragged the policewoman as she ran toward the pickup. At this point, she didn't have much fight left in her.

Seeing the pickup speeding toward them, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Da-da-da! Shaw raised her gun, standing on the roof to cover them.

She couldn't enter the church and couldn't intervene in the battle inside. She could only aim at enemies within her line of sight. The cultists had eventually learned their lesson and stayed well away from the main gate. Bullets couldn't turn corners, so Shaw could only sigh in frustration.

Now that Bella had run out of the church, she could finally play her part.

Shaw fired repeatedly. The cultists chasing behind Bella were shot down one after another.
