Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Leaving Silent Hill

Bella couldn't even take care of herself. While driving, she checked on Shaw's injuries.

She discovered that Shaw had been wounded by Dark Alessa using some sort of psychic impact skill. The technique looked a bit like her own Mind Blast, but the attack targeted the soul, not the mind.

The mind is one thing, the soul is another. Just looking at the classification of the Infinity Stones, one would know these are two completely different matters.

At this moment, Shaw's figure began to flicker and grow insubstantial; she had absolutely no strength left to fight.

Bella was heavily injured, 006 was heavily injured, Shaw was heavily injured, and Pyramid Head didn't even need mentioning—he had been beaten down to a sliver of health.

The four best fighters were all in critical condition.

The female cop was just an ordinary patrol officer—no superpowers, no spirit body capable of shifting between virtual and real, and certainly no high-intensity training from British MI6. Providing support at critical moments several times was already performing beyond her limits.

The female lawyer, Jeri Hogarth, was also not to be counted on. She was just an ordinary lawyer who fired blindly during the battle and ended up getting stabbed twice by a faceless nurse. She was currently on the verge of collapse.

A car full of wounded people. Ironically, the two people they'd originally come to rescue, Sharon and Rose, were unscathed. Not only unscathed, but the mother and daughter had been protected while carving a path out of the monster army without even a scratch. They were in good enough shape to go home, take a shower, and then go out partying!

Sharon used the bandages inside the car to help dress everyone's wounds. The little girl was frantic, almost crying. Even without medical knowledge, she knew the injuries of the sisters and aunties in the car were extremely severe.

"Sit tight! We're leaving this godforsaken place!" Bella jerked the steering wheel around. The sound of ocean tides faintly emerged in her ears; it felt like waves were crashing against the pickup in midair. When the power of the seawater accumulated to its peak, a torrent of irresistible force pushed the pickup forward.

"Your escape is meaningless. She will come back..." Dark Alessa's voice rang in everyone's ears.

"Merry Christmas!"

Refusing to lose face even in retreat, Bella shouted loudly. Subsequently, the pickup broke through the passage between the two worlds and returned to reality.

...

"Ah! Finally out—" Seeing the blazing sun high in the sky, looking at the distant mountains and flying birds, Bella let out a long breath. Since transmigrating, she had never struggled this hard.

Silent Hill was simply too dangerous. Even with sufficient weapons and equipment, plus the advantage of foresight and relying on her strength, she still scrambled out in such a sorry state in the end. Did those ordinary people who went to Silent Hill with just crowbars and iron hammers really have any chance of survival?

The weapons and equipment in the car were all used up, she herself was heavily injured, and her harvest was merely a palm-sized Seal of Metatron and a Book of Metatron. Counting a thug like Pyramid Head... she didn't know if she had made a profit or a loss...

Bella just wanted to go home and rest properly for a few days.

"Christopher, what do we do next...?" Seeing everyone out of danger, Rose's mind instantly relaxed. However, this trip to Silent Hill had terrified her deeply. A question also arose in her heart: What exactly is my husband's job?

In her cognition, her husband was a department manager of a company. Although he occasionally went on business trips around the world, he was absolutely an ordinary person. But where did these guns come from? Those tactical movements, that precise grenade-throwing technique—no matter how she looked at it, he wasn't an ordinary person.

Bella's Ice Rays and the summoned Pyramid Head were even more mysterious, completely violating the worldview and philosophy of life held by the general public.

"I won't hide it from you anymore. I used to serve in the Marine Corps. Later, due to corruption by my superiors, I..." Comrade 006's lies came right out of his mouth, flowing smoothly, woven so naturally they sounded true. Rose couldn't detect any flaws at all.

As the pickup drove out of Silent Hill and back into reality, it was time for the group to part ways.

"Drop me off at the intersection ahead. I'll go back myself." The female lawyer, Jeri Hogarth, was the first to bid them farewell.

Her wounds were a bit hard to explain, but as a lawyer walking the gray line, she could still find some black clinics.

"Thank you for saving me. Remember to find me when you come to New York," the female lawyer said, her finger lightly scratching Bella's palm, implying something more.

"Goodbye to you," Bella said, smiling awkwardly but politely.

Soon, she looked at 006's family of three, implying: Shouldn't you guys get going too?

006 glanced at the female cop out of the corner of his eye, while Bella shook her head with minimal movement.

Her injuries could self-heal. Shaw needed to return to the haunted house to absorb the negative energy in the basement to restore her spirit body. 006 had his own treatment methods; he had survived heavier injuries than this. The only one difficult to handle was the female cop.

Severely burned. The female cop had to go to a hospital. But wanting to go to a hospital without alerting the police station was truly a very difficult task.

Bella shook her head slowly at 006, meaning: Don't look at me. I'm just a college student. Where am I supposed to find connections for you?

"Alright then, I'll find someone to treat Cybil."

The name Cybil was only found out by asking Rose. The female cop was either unconscious or fighting alongside them; there had been no time to ask for her name!

Before Bella and 006 came to the rescue, Cybil had helped Rose and Sharon many times. Now, they couldn't just leave her to die.

Bella drove the car to a nearby hospital, then bid farewell to the family of three.

"You can come find me in Los Angeles when you're free! Of course... it's best if you don't come! Haha, just kidding! Goodbye, you three!"

Bella gave 006 a covert wink, meaning: You still have to help me investigate the inside story of Prosperity Town (Eight Legged Freaks). Don't forget.

The other party nodded heavily. Even if he hadn't promised, he wasn't one to go back on his word. And even if he hadn't promised, he wouldn't dare refuse right now!

The female cop entered the hospital, and sure enough, it alerted all aspects of West Virginia. The police system in this era was still quite powerful. Now that someone had burned a female patrol officer alive like this, it looked like a major case no matter how you sliced it.

006 used some connections. In the police records, he became an enthusiastic passing citizen. Not only did this enthusiastic citizen bring in the wounded, but he also helped advance all the medical fees. Some police officers were suspicious of 006's identity, but under hints from the higher-ups, they let the matter rest.

006 soon left the hospital with his family. His injuries were also extremely severe! He had to find a place for treatment immediately. At the same time, worried that Silent Hill would continue to affect Rose and Sharon, he prepared to take the mother and daughter to Europe. He was more familiar with Europe, and it was safer there.

...

By evening, a group of people arrived at the local police station. A young, beautiful black-haired woman spoke a few words to the sheriff.

The big-bellied, bearded sheriff smiled playfully. "Dr. Maya Hansen, I can't hand people over to your... what is it... A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics)? Officer Cybil is our important partner."

The woman named Maya Hansen sneered. A tall, strong man beside her handed the sheriff a check. The sheriff glanced quickly at the numbers, then nodded in satisfaction.

Police records showed that at 11:15 PM that night, Patrol Officer Cybil Bennett passed away due to severe injuries. The local newspaper the next day even published this news in a tofu-sized space.
