Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: Fell for It

H"What? Take off... clothes?"

Loki stared blankly at Corin in front of him.

Not just Loki. Even Thor inside the cage was completely dumbfounded by what Corin was doing.

His puzzled gaze went back and forth between Corin and Loki.

Agent Coulson, on the other hand, looked like this was only natural.

Interrogation was an art, with hundreds, even thousands, of specific methods and techniques.

Making someone strip naked was just one way to break down an opponent's mental defenses.

'Mr. Destiny clearly understands interrogation.'

Even a seasoned old hand like Coulson couldn't help but think this move was smooth as hell.

"Heave-ho~"

Seeing that Corin had already taken control of the situation, Coulson gently set one end of the massive weapon in his hands down on the floor.

"This damn thing is heavy as hell."

In the brief standoff with Loki just now, Agent Coulson had almost failed to keep hold of this big guy.

"Hurry up, stop dragging your feet!"

Loki struggled to maintain his smile, eyes fixed on Corin, unsure what trick he was about to pull.

But the crafty glint in his eyes showed he definitely wouldn't obediently comply so easily.

The reason Corin told Loki to take off his clothes was because, while he was lurking in the shadows earlier, curiosity had led him to find out the value of the divine armor Loki was wearing.

[Regalia of the God of Mischief → Estimated value: 150 billion USD]

Of course he wasn't about to miss such a once-in-a-lifetime chance to strike it rich.

Clang!

As Loki threw his armor onto the ground, he was now left with nothing but a pair of shorts.

He couldn't help glancing toward Thor, only to see that muscle-brained idiot wearing a mischievous grin as he looked back at him.

Subconsciously rubbing his arm, a faint sense of shame rose in Loki's heart.

"Just you wait…"

At this moment, Corin turned his gaze toward the armor on the ground, glowing faintly.

He lifted his foot and slowly walked forward.

Just as Corin bent down, about to pick up the armor, a sudden change occurred.

———

[Engine No. 3]

Tony had almost finished troubleshooting the equipment failure, but it still needed some external force for a thermal restart.

The principle was simple, like push-starting a car.

He planned to enter the engine fan blades and use the propulsion power of the Mark armor to get this big thing spinning again.

But considering that once the engine restarted, the rotation speed would keep increasing, he might not be able to get out in time, and it could even be extremely dangerous.

"There's a lever over there. When I give the signal, you pull it down!"

At this point, Tony could only rely on Colonel Rogers, who, in his view, wasn't exactly reliable.

Captain America had no objections at all. This concerned the lives of everyone aboard the Helicarrier. As long as it could get the engine running again, he was ready to risk his life.

What neither he nor Tony knew at this moment was that Corin had already stabilized the hull. Even if all four engines shut down, the Helicarrier wouldn't fall right now.

Tony entered the engine fan blades and began pushing the propeller to rotate.

One turn, two turns...

Under the powerful thrust of the Mark VII, the massive turbine propeller slowly began to spin.

From above, the flames from Iron Man's thrusters grew faster as the turbine's rotation increased, forming a ring of fire.

"Ugh!"

Tony gritted his teeth against the pressure and dizziness of high-speed flight, roaring as he continued to push the propeller.

Until a certain moment, vibrations came through. The engine regained power and began rotating on its own.

As the massive blades sped up, they gradually slipped out of Tony's control.

"Now!"

———

[Restricted Area]

Taking advantage of the moment when Corin bent down, Loki's hand flashed with light, and the Mind Stone scepter revealed its true form.

The scepter that he had just thrown on the ground slowly faded and disappeared.

At the same time, Loki split into three figures. One clone rushed to the cage control console and quickly activated the ejection switch.

Before the smile had faded from Thor's face, he, along with the prison cell, was suddenly hurled down from high altitude.

Another clone took advantage of Corin bending down and launched an attack on him.

And Loki's true body suddenly appeared behind Agent Coulson.

Pshhk!

The sharp blade of the Mind Stone scepter instantly pierced through Agent Coulson's back.

Loki had no way to deal with Thor or Corin. The humiliation of being stripped bare could only be vented on the unguarded Agent Coulson.

Coulson felt a chill in his back, followed by boundless pain that left him unable to breathe.

Zzz!

At this moment, Corin's attack arrived a beat late, smashing Loki hard and sending him flying.

The instant Corin touched the armor, he silently said in his mind, 'Exchange!'

[God of Mischief's Trick! Exchange failed!]

The moment the system notification sounded, Corin suddenly realized he had been fooled.

Whether it was the armor Loki had taken off and thrown on the ground or the Mind Stone scepter, both were illusions created with sleight of hand.

At this moment, light flashed over Loki's body, and that uniquely personal set of armor reappeared on him.

He knew he was no match for Corin. Using the momentum from being blasted far away by the heat vision, he made a swift escape.

Corin immediately fired heat vision to destroy the Loki attacking him, then turned his gaze to the Loki behind Coulson.

The heat vision instantly carved a long line into the floor.

The armor in his hand slowly vanished. Corin flashed to Coulson's side and gently blew on his wound.

Cold breath, rolling with thick white mist, rapidly froze Coulson's gruesome wound, and the gushing blood immediately stopped.

But Coulson's breathing was trembling now. Leaning against the wall, his body was gradually losing strength.

At this moment, Nick Fury arrived. The first thing he saw was the empty space where the cage had been.

Turning his head, he saw Agent Coulson apparently injured, slumped weakly against the wall, while Corin was treating his wound.

Corin was still controlling the entire Helicarrier while exhaling cold air, with no time to pay attention to Nick Fury.

"Sorry, boss… I let that bastard get away…"

Agent Coulson looked at Nick Fury in front of him and spoke weakly.

At this point, Corin stopped releasing cold air. He was afraid that if he messed up even a little, he'd freeze Coulson to death.

"I was careless."

Thinking back on Loki's superb acting, Corin couldn't help but sigh. A God of Mischief who could maneuver among multiple factions was indeed extremely cunning.

Nick Fury first gave Corin a look of thanks, then turned to Coulson.

"Stay awake. Look at me!"

His voice was sharp, carrying unquestionable authority while hiding deep concern.

"No… I should rest…"

"You can't rest!"

Looking at this dying old subordinate, even someone like Nick Fury, who had seen life and death countless times, found himself at a loss for words.

At this moment, Coulson had long realized that although the Avengers Initiative had been launched, the hastily gathered members hadn't truly united.

You could tell just by how they constantly rubbed each other the wrong way.

Maybe his death could change that situation.

Even now, Coulson's thoughts were still all about Nick Fury's plan.

"I'm fine, boss~ If you don't give them a little push, they'll never unite."

A faint smile stayed on Coulson's face, but he could no longer speak.

Nick Fury was immersed in the pain of losing a comrade, his emotions tangled, silent for a long time.

Corin, standing nearby, was not deeply grieved.

His sensitive spider-sense gave him hearing far beyond that of normal people.

He could still faintly hear that Coulson's heart had not truly stopped beating.

"Director Fury, I think Agent Coulson can still be saved."

Hearing this, Fury immediately reached for Coulson's carotid artery, but he didn't feel even the slightest pulse.

"If we delay any longer, Agent Coulson really won't make it."

Watching Fury's actions, Corin felt a bit speechless.

These people in power always had to confirm everything themselves before reaching a conclusion. Completely unnecessary.

Before Fury could react, Corin directly knocked him aside, scooped up Agent Coulson, and ran off quickly.

So fast it was almost leaving behind an afterimage.

"Where's the doctor? Get to work!"
