Chapter 1 - Prologue

"In the end, I failed..."

There was nothing but darkness around him; the planet once called Earth was fully destroyed, swallowed by a black hole.

He was being pulled into somewhere that he could only guess was the center of this madness.

The concept of time had lost its meaning in the dark area, as memories of the past came to his view.

A young boy in the arms of his passing mother was crying as she told her son her last words: "Ray, always be kind to those around you."

His heart wasn't moved by the traumatizing memory; a long time had passed since his childhood, and a long time had passed since the Ray that her mother knew.

Another memory came to light; there he was among the crowd of many people all taking pictures of him, waiting for him to announce what he was going to do with his family wealth now that he was in charge.

"I bequeath all my wealth to the charities all around the world, in hope to make the earth a better place."

"How naive." His whispers were lost in the void around him, with the gravity crushing his body; his mind still worked as calmly as ever.

"How young me believed that being a good person will make everyone fall in love with you..."

His hands were destroyed by the gravity, followed by his eyes.

Another memory flashed in his mind: "You have nothing to lose; why not become my slave?" A woman whose face he didn't remember offered him a good deal; it meant he at least had food to eat now.

Years passed with him working day and night in a fancy house, serving the desires of women that found him interesting.

Memories of his life to this very day came back to life; wars, turning into an underground criminal, getting into prison with many tortures.

"An existence full of regrets..."

Death's claws were on his throat; he had no way to escape his inevitable fate.

He wanted to see the center, the center of a black hole, but he no longer had any eyes to see.

His lips curled up into a smile: "In the end, my solitary soul will die alone..."

His face disappeared into thin air; only a chest remained of him. At that moment a word from the person that caused the black hole to come to life resurfaced in his blood.

"The center of a black hole is a portal to the river of time."

Out of his chest blood wings grew, covering the remains of his body.

"There is still hope!" His blood magic was some of the weakest magic in the entire world but had been perfected to be a killing machine in his hands.

Now all he could do with it was to protect himself.

The gravity was cruel as his wings were destroyed, followed by all of his flesh. All that was left was some blood in the air, carrying his consciousness.

"Ray, the only thing that matters in the world is to help others!"

"Ray, the only thing that matters in the world is to be kind to others!"

Once there was Ray Kurosawa, who followed his mother's guidance with all of his soul and flesh, but that person was long dead.

He had one name only remaining in the world: Ray the Blood Angel. Millions had been slain by his hands, with more to follow if he succeeded in stopping the fight between two entities on earth.

Yet, he failed.

One of them with gravity magic was dead; his corpse caused a black hole to come to life on earth, destroying any living thing on it.

"Why should we protect you if you don't have any money?"

"Why should I stay by your side when you betrayed your family legacy?"

He wasn't angry or in search of revenge against all the people that had betrayed him.

"Humans are ruled only by one thing: power!"

The blood was reducing too; he started to burn his magic to protect his remaining flesh on earth.

Drop by drop they vanished...

No fear was in his mind; even if he died, he had long accepted that death would come for him one day.

The gravity increased tremendously; however, his pure will protected his last remaining hope.

One drop of blood was the only thing that remained from him.

"Guess this is the end..." Cracks were appearing on his last defense.

Before he could disappear into the dust of time, everything stopped. His body grew once more from the drop of blood.

He stood in the middle of a circle of golden light; the circle started to orbit around him at a speed that he couldn't follow its movement.

The lights came to swallow his whole body when they touched his skin. The world itself shattered as Ray was thrown back in time.

He saw events of his life on the glasses of light unfold before him, yet nothing could stop his movement; his whole existence was that of light.

Complete darkness.

Ray opened his eyes.

His body had grown smaller; his hands barely could lift up a sword anymore.

"I succeeded!"

Not wasting a second, he checked his place; he was in his room in their family tower. The year was 7863!

"I have returned back in time 200 years..."

He had returned to his thirteen-year-old body with all the knowledge he had from the future.

"I still have six years before my powers awaken..." He moved to a mirror to see himself.

A kid with pale skin and short black hair stared at him; nothing about his looks stood out. In terms of looks, he was always on the average side.

What was different about him from the old him was his eyes; two pairs of blue eyes as deep as an abyss, hollow of any emotion, stared back at him.

"Years will pass as before, death will greet me again, but this time my life will have no regrets..." He laughed internally: "I shall be a demon in this life."
