Chapter 42 - Death vs Heaven

"Heaven's door."

White clouds crushed with the dark smoke of souls around them, those who felt the torment of the death, vanished upon contacting Heaven itself, yet some stood their ground, tearing it apart.

Ray cursed to himself; both of them had summoned their spiritual domains. The only way out of it was if both of them dispelled their own exclusive domains.

"Let's see how much you can entertain me..." She giggled, "Little General."

The dark aura around her sword increased; just looking at it could kill a person, yet Jade observed her actions with interest.

"I will entertain you until other generals arrive." Alexanderia's face lacked any emotion; she knew very well if it turned into a serious fight, the end result would be her loss.

"My, my... Fighting me with all of your might when there are four cities near us." Her eyes shone with killing intent.

A dark sword slashed the world itself; the slash was big enough to destroy both of the spiritual domains, yet Jade took it head-on.

Two angels that had previously fought Ray were protecting her in their full might. Their wings had grown with white feathers, and red eyes were boiling under their armor.

"I have to stop this." Ray whispered to himself, A fight on this scale could easily get out of hand.

Alexanderia charged into their defense; two puppets held her off from reaching Jade. Their clashes sent airwaves to the cities around; the other one's arrows had flaming bombs in them, each exploding on impact.

"You can't even get past my loyal guards... Pathetic." Jade still stood there, watching her.

"Don't be so sure." Her hand pointed at the guard in the back; her open hand slowly turned into a clenched fist. As her fingers moved, black chains locked the guard.

A sword strike came from her side; however, her sword moved on its own, blocking the strike as she continued to crush the guard's body.

Before the armor could collapse completely, the borders of their spiritual realms shook violently. None of them had any way to know who was on the other side, and concealing the domain meant being at a disadvantage.

"This pressure is not normal..." Ray told Jade through their minds.

"I agree. What is your guess?" Jade let her guard be sacrificed; something more important was happening.

Ray said with the last of his energy, "Aria." Only one person could do something like that.

"Good luck with dealing with her." Her stance changed, and a long staff designed with many gems all around it appeared in her hands: "I should go, but before that, let me show a little trick, my little General."

Alexanderia stepped back; her feelings told her that something was very wrong. In a breath, her instinct was proven right. A portal cut through the sky, with a white dragon flying out of it.

"It's a heavenly dragon..." She tightened her grip on her sword. Heavenly Dragons were famous for taking no damage except in spiritual ways.

Jade laughed at her puzzled face: "Your magic doesn't have anything to do with the spiritual world, am I right?"

Her expression didn't change; she couldn't kill the dragon, and the dragon couldn't kill her either. "What a great discovery."

Cracks were getting larger on the borders; Jade took one last glance at the Ray before hitting the sky with her staff. White clouds rushed to her at once to teleport her body.

Alexanderia had her own worries with the dragon at hand; her sword clashed with the white fangs, yet none could harm the other one. She didn't use her magic, even knowing it will do nothing.

"Not so fast." Another figure joined them, with pink light glowing from her body. Her sole presence was enough for Ray and Alexanderia to freeze at their own spot.

However, Jade continued her process with no care; she giggled, "What has gotten your attention, your grace?"

Her long pink hair moved in the air with her empty eyes staring at Jade: "I will accept the white dragon as an offering; you are free to go."

Her figure turned into small white clouds, and in a blink of an eye, she disappeared from the spot.

Aria pointed her finger at the white dragon; pink lights turned into a cage around its body, locking it down. It tried to break it using his fire breath and fangs; after a few tries and achieving nothing, it just lay in the cage, accepting defeat.

"Now, you too, what will be your offerings?" With her hands on her chest, she asked with no difference.

Alexanderia became furious: "I'm a general. What do you mean?"

"So what? Give me an offering, or I will kill you right now." Her white dress changed into a dark dress, with her glitches starting around her waist.

Ray's voice barely could be heard. "I have two white rhinos; will they be to your taste, my grace?"

"Not bad, I will send someone to retrieve them from you. You two are free to go either." With that, she left the battleground too.

"What the hell just happened?" Alexanderia yelled at the place that Aria stood a second ago. Her focus returned to Ray; with no legs and a small wing, he barely could float in the air.

At that moment the truth struck her mind; her life had just been saved by him. Her hands took Ray's body into her embrace while she teleported both of them to the best healer she knew.

"You have a lot of explanations to give." Her tone still carried her frustration: "Thank you."

"I will tell you what happened in full length; just don't tell anyone that I was there. Say there was someone with silver hair and a face full of scars that escaped from the battle." Ray spoke to her mind directly; all of his attempts couldn't go to waste for just a simple mistake.

Alexanderia carried him to a nearby doctor. "How can you be so sure that the witch and Aria wouldn't tell everyone?"

"Aria doesn't give a fuck about any of us, and I'm pretty sure that the public will accept your words rather than a threat to earth."

"Fair. You can rest now."

"Thanks for saving my life." Ray said with honesty.

Alexanderia shook her head. "We are even now."

As Ray went into a deep slumber in her arms, her mind wandered about the storm that was about to follow in the world.
