Chapter 2 - Notice

He didn't know who's body he was using or how, but he did have a sneaking suspicion, one he had no proof for. It wasn't impossible that he had been reincarnated like in the stories he used to read. Though in most stories featuring reincarnation it involved the reincarnator incarnating into their own body somewhere in the world, not into the body of someone else. Though he had heard of a subgenre of reincarnation known as transmigration which involved exactly that, but being transmigrated or reincarnated implied not only the existence of other worlds but also of someone who had caused said transmigration or reincarnation.

It was impossible and illogical, and yet it was also a one for one description of the state he had found himself in. Transmigration into the body of someone he didn't know, in a world different to his own. He wanted to completely deny the concept that he, Able Cyrus had been reincarnated- No, transmigrated into another world, but the fact that the face in the mirror wasn't his own forced him to stop. He wouldn't accept it fully, not for now, not until he was sure of what was happening. He turned back to the door out of the room and went over to it, trying to pull it open using the handle. It came open freely without hesitation, the door hadn't been locked, another piece of evidence for his own transmigration instead of kidnapping.

But if he had been transmigrated then what had become of his old body in his old world? And what about his sister? He had to continue onwards, praying with everything he had that he hadn't been transmigrated and instead had become in an overly complicated kidnapping. He moved his way around the small building he had found himself in, it looked to be a house, though the lack of furniture or any form of decoration implied otherwise. When he found the door to leave he hesitated. He was still naked after waking up, but had searched the whole building and hadn't found any clothing. Did he dare leave the building naked? Definitely not. It was illegal back home and even if he had been transmigrated it was almost certainly illegal here as well, he'd have to find something to wear before leaving the building. He went back to the room he had woken up in and took the bedding off of the bed, tearing it up and tying it in places, making a makeshift t-shirt and trousers.

Abel: It'll have to do for now.

It didn't look good. At all. But he had spent more than enough time in this building and had to leave as soon as possible, he had to know whether or not he had been transmigrated. He had to find evidence of the opposite. So he left the building, walking out onto a street. Turns out he had indeed been in a house in the middle of a rural city, with dirt paths and grass joining various houses. Only a single other person was out in the streets. Odd. By the time he assumed it was there should've been a lot of activity by now. He got distracted from his train of thought when that other person walked up to him and began speaking to him out of nowhere.

???: Kaelen?! What on Earth are you wearing?!

"What on Earth"? So this was Earth?

Abel: ... Kaelen?

A sudden look of worry covered her face when he replied to her by asking a question. If he had been transmigrated, and it was looking more and more likely that he had, then Kaelen would be the name of the body he was inhabiting. He had just made a major slipup.

???: ... Are you okay?

Abel: Just... Long day.

???: I see... Seriously though, what are you wearing?

It had clearly been a very bad choice to make the clothes how he had. The woman in front of him was wearing clothes he didn't recognise, a weird mix between classic highly formal clothing and modern cotton-made clothes, his bedding-made clothes weren't anything like what she was wearing, even down to the shape.

Abel: I... Uhm... I couldn't find anything else to wear.

???: You were Blazing your possession again, weren't you?

Blazing? What the hell was Blazing? -Could it be...? A magic system? Did magic exist? If Blazing genuinely was a part of a magic system then this definitely wasn't Earth, and he had been transmigrated for certain. Either way, however, it was a clear and easy way to explain the state of his clothes. This Kaelen that he wore apparently often "Blazed" his possessions, which in some way got rid of them.

Abel: You know me.

???: Seriously Kaelen! I can't help you every time this happens. Jeez.

She held out her hand, presenting a small block of metal to him. Where had she been hiding that? That was way too big to be hidden by her hand and he hadn't seen it in her hand before this, so where had she hidden it?

???: Take it. Feel free to Blaze it.

Shit. He didn't know what Blazing even meant, never mind how to actually do it, and she was asking him to Blaze some block of iron? How the hell was he supposed to reply to that one?

Abel: I... Uhm... Can't.

???: Kaelen, I know you have your pride and all but we both know you're just going to take this and Blaze it after an argument. Can we please skip that this time?

Abel: I... I don't-

Seriously! What was there that he could say to her?! How could he possibly avoid looking weird here?

Abel: S-sure...

???: Thank you.

He takes the iron block from her and turns it over several times in his hands.

???: Well? Aren't you going to Blaze it?

Abel: ... Later... I'll blaze it later.

???: Well we're not going to the Festival with you dressed like that.

There was a festival too? How much context was he missing here?

Abel: I... Uhm... I don't know how.

???: Don't know how what?

Abel: To Blaze it.

She completely stopped, clearly confused as to what he was saying.

???: What are you talking about? I've watched you Blaze stuff hundreds of times. Just do as you always do. Focus inwards and absorb its Lux.

There was nothing else he could do. If he refused again she would know that he wasn't Kaelen, and if that happened there was no telling what would occur next. He had to do it here and now. He had to learn how to Blaze something right now or risk being revealed as a transmigrator. -He suddenly realised that he had accepted that he had transmigrated, his conversation with this woman forced him to realise just how little he knew about what was going on here, to the point it just couldn't be his home world. He was far far away now.

So in order to protect himself in the present and discover what had happened to him or why he would have to do it. He focused on the steel ingot, before turning his mind inwards to his body, look for some sign- For anything that would hint towards how to Blaze something. -He felt it. A warm sphere made from a strange glowing liquid at his core, and he guided the ingot mentally towards the core of light, watching as the steel seemed to evaporate, turning into a glowing mist before going straight into his chest, joining his core and making it grow.

[Notice: Stat increase]

[Lux: 13 (+30) -> 43]

[Adeptness: 10 (+1) -> 11]

He heard a voice sound out, announcing his internal change. His "Lux" had apparently increased by 50, and his "Adeptness" had increased by 1. Only that left him with several questions. What was Lux? Who had just spoken? And why did it sound exactly the same as the one from his dream? The one that had told him about his impending death? Either way, he had just seen magic occur, and had been the one to cause it, driving the final nail into his own coffin. He had transmigrated for certain. He had so many questions, but none of the time to ask them, and had no way to know where to find their answers.

???: Are you going to Fabricate some clothes now or what?

Damn it. He had successfully managed to "Blaze" the iron ingot, but had immediately met by another challenge for which he had no context for! He had only managed to do that because she had accidentally told him how! How was he supposed to make her tell him how to do this without sounding even more suspicious than he already did?! He needed some serious help right now!

[Help requested]

[Yes / No]

What? It was that voice again, speaking as if straight into his mind. He had no idea what was going on right now, but if he understood one thing then it would be that he had been offered help. So he mentally selected [Yes].
