Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The boy from past.

7 January,

Felt like any other regular day. Every evening, Kyra went cycling with her friends.

Kyra was an 18-year-old girl with a calm heart and a thoughtful mind. She wasn't loud or dramatic; she was the type who noticed small things and kept them safe inside her head. Cycling was her daily escape—just harmless fun, school talk, and laughter.

That day, her friends were running late, so she reached the usual spot a little earlier. She was adjusting her cycle when two boys suddenly rode past her—fast, confident, and laughing about something.

She didn't pay attention at first. Just two strangers, she thought.

But after a few seconds, something tugged at her memory.

I think I know him… but from where?

When the boys slowed down a little ahead, everything clicked in her mind.

Aiden.

The quiet boy from her 2nd standard class.

Aiden, now 19, had grown into someone noticeably calm—tall posture, focused eyes, and a silence that felt natural rather than cold. He was cycling with his friend Evan, and even from far away, Kyra could see how composed he looked, as if he rarely rushed for anything.

She hadn't seen him in the area before, which made her wonder if this was just coincidence. But her friends arrived by then, so she brushed away the thought and continued cycling.

Later that night, curiosity pulled her towards her old class photographs. And there he was. Same face. Same eyes. Just older now.

The next day, at the exact same time, she saw him again. This time, Aiden looked in her direction for a moment—almost like he recognized her too. Kyra couldn't be sure. In school, she never noticed him much. Maybe he never noticed her either.

Back home, the doubt kept circling in her mind.

She opened social media, searched his name, checked his profile again and again. For fifteen minutes she debated—send request or not?

Finally, with a deep breath, she sent it.

And he accepted.

Two–three days passed quietly. No messages. No reactions.

Then one evening, she finally texted him.

To her surprise, Aiden already remembered her. He said he recognized her the moment he saw her cycling.

They talked a little—nothing huge, just simple things. But it felt strange and warm because the last time they had spoken, they were tiny children in 2nd standard… and now they were grown up teenagers.

Slowly, something new started forming in Kyra's heart.

Not loud excitement… but a calm, deep feeling she couldn't name yet.

She didn't know if he felt the same.

For now, she was just his old classmate who suddenly appeared again.

But something had definitely begun.
