"Ahh" he screeches out as a throbbing headache causes him stop for a moment. "So i need to better utilize this skill until i can use it more fluently" he thinks as he feels the drawback from his new skill.
Arthur opens his mouth wide as he has figured something out. "Is that what he was looking for earlier?". All EVO are taught the basics for a mana core and how to utilize it. With this, it's easier to identify other EVO as energy radiates from their solar plexus and goes outwards in usage.
Arthur has mana heart, but his mana is spread out throughout his body due to the draken blood and only those with a keen eye can see the flow of his mana. The core in his heart is not very potent, but will get stronger as he gets more powerful.
He puts his head on his pillow looking up in the air reaching his arm out and thinking "I have finally taken a step forward". He has a gleeful smile on his face for the first time.
Arthur spends the next few days recuperating and "healing", with his mom visiting him often and everyday feeling more enjoyable. Arthur has a brace on and gets discharged. He knows he is fully healed but keeps up the act. He receives a message from Raiders guild and looks at the text. He replies to their message and tells his Mom is he going out.
She gives him a stern look asking "Where are you going?" "You should be resting". "I know Mom, but the guild have asked me to come in". He puts a hand on her shoulder to reassure her saying "I'm just going to their headquarters and coming straight back home". She seems convinced and he goes. He gives her a hug and before he leaves she shouts "Don't be late". A warm tingling fills his heart as he has missed the feeling of comfort.
He gets off the bus and arrives near their headquarters with Mia standing in front of it with scrapes and bruises on her. "Hey" she says with a smile and he replies standing there confused "Should you be here?". "I'm just your guide today. A familiar face, that's all". she says and Arthur smiles and walks past her and she gets a feeling of a fresh breeze. "Thanks" he says as he walks past her. "Huh" she says as she is lost in a haze. She catches up and they walk in together.
"I'll give you a tour of the building and then we will go to the meeting because we're a bit early". Arthur walks all around the building, looking at different places and notices people that he knew and saw from his previous life. He attaches his darkness to them and keeps going. Eventually the time comes for the meeting he came for and she takes him there.
They both enter the room to talk about what happened in that boss chamber. All the exec of the guild are there and the meeting is being presided over by the vice guild master that Arthur already met. They seat him alone at the centre of the room like a zoo animal with stares of disgust, anger and neutral faces. Arthur has calm mind activated and starts to say his side of the story.
After he finishes, one of the higher up execs releases pressure and calmly says "What a bunch of bullshit". Arthur with a stern gaze just keeps looking at the vice guild master as he has been the whole time. Another exec says "We have already heard from Mia that she saw you talking to the porter before you even entered the rift" "and that you told him to not enter the boss room before you even went inside". "It was a feeling" says Arthur. "What kind of feeling did you have as a porter and a regular human huh?". "The type when you apply logic to something." says Arthur and looking directly at him.
"The type when you see the boss do the same motion 3 times and not expect anything to happen". "There needs to be a trigger and he was it for the activation of the hidden boss". In the most condescending way possible he says "I put 1 and 1 together and got 2".
Anger and rage erupts in the room. Shouting and screaming at Arthur changes the atmosphere and some start to exude mana. Thomas' gaze is solely directed at Arthur and he just says "Silence" softly and everyone in that room hears it. It was like a 180. Noise vanished from that room. There is a brief pause and Thomas looks to his right and says "Bring him" and Howard gets brought into the room.
He behind Arthur and gets told to "Speak". Howard starts to fidget and breath heavy. "Erm.." "He just asked me what the raid team wanted to do and I told him that it might have something to do with the hidden boss". He gets asked "Did he tell you to stay out of the boss room". "Yes he did" replies Howard. One exec with loud and obnoxious tone says "See, He knew everyone was going to die". Some of the other execs agree, but no movement from the top 3 which includes the vice gm and the 2 people one on each side of him.
"Vice guild master" says Arthur. "I understand that you're not as stupid as these fools". "The IQ between them must be single digits". They erupt again with threats and strength they show, but no movement from the 3. Thomas moves his hand and just does a single light tap to the desk.
SLING..
The desk and the noise is cut in the room. Arthur doesn't flinch or move at all, holding his gaze. Howard is moved back by it and gets scared. Mia is shocked but doesn't move. The execs get angry but no movement occurs after that.
Thomas stands and starts to walk out of the room saying "I'll look forward to what you do in the future" towards Arthur. The top 3 leave and soon the execs follow, but slowly make their way. Arthur, Howard and Mia leave together but Mia gets held back by the execs. Arthur and Howard walk out and they say to her "Great work" "You defeated the hidden boss at such a young age" "We expect great things from you." They praise her and she smiles for them. Arthur hears this while walking away using his veil ability.
"I expected better from you Mia" he thinks to himself while walking away with his hands in his pocket. "Want to get food?" he asks Howard and he gets excited saying "Yes". They make their way of the building, talking and laughing. As they leave the building and don't get far, "Wait" is shouted from behind them and it's Mia who has just caught up to them.
Arthur with an uninterested and suppressed anger face says "What". Mia eyes open wide and she just stands there. Arthur looks away from her asking "You told him everything didn't you, the vice guild master?" Mia doesn't answer and just keeps her mouth shut with an embarrassed and shameful look. Before leaving Arthur says "I should of never saved you".
They both leave and she just stands there with her head down.
