Reporters surrounded the building, shouting Ha-eun's name like wolves tasting blood.
Jisoo's security team rushed them into the private garage, but Ha-eun could still hear the accusations echoing behind her.
"CEO Kang's wife—caught in a past affair!"
"Did she trap the billionaire for money?"
"Who is Ha-eun… really?"
The rumors were all lies, twisted from an incident Ha-eun barely remembered—a photo of her helping a drunk coworker into a taxi, now re-edited into something sinful.
Yura's perfect fingerprints were all over it.
Up in the penthouse, Ha-eun stood with her back against the wall, unable to meet Jisoo's eyes.
"I'm sorry," she whispered. "Your reputation… your company… all because of me."
Jisoo stepped closer, his expression unreadable.
"Ha-eun," he said quietly, "did you do what they're accusing you of?"
"No." Her voice shook. "Never."
Without warning, Jisoo's hand slid to her chin, lifting her face to his.
"Then why apologize?" he murmured. "I only care about your truth, not the world's lies."
Her breath caught. His sudden warmth was too much—too dangerous.
But before she could speak, Jisoo leaned closer, forehead brushing hers.
"I will destroy anyone who tries to hurt you," he said. "Even if it's someone inside my company."
A knock suddenly thundered through the penthouse.
"CEO Kang!" a voice shouted from outside. "The board demands an emergency meeting. They want your wife removed from all public duties immediately."
Jisoo's eyes turned cold as ice.
"No," he growled. "I'm done letting them control my life."
He grabbed Ha-eun's hand.
"Come with me. They'll hear the truth—from us both."
