Chapter 28 - The Non-Existent Crack

And that phrase kept echoing in my ears.

"Karna!"

Immediately afterward, Felix suddenly realized—could Arjuna have mistaken him for Karna?

"Justice...justice, I...I won't allow you to say that!"

The intermittent sounds came from Arjuna's mouth, as if he had broken down, unwilling to listen to others or face reality.

Karna didn't come, but Felix wasn't in a hurry; he still had more trump cards up his sleeve.

"It's ridiculous that the great hero who once punished evil, promoted good, and upheld justice could bravely face even an ascetic life, but now he can't even accept a few words from others!"

"I think you are no longer the great hero that Karna remembers—someone worthy of his admiration and sympathy."

Although it wasn't Karna himself, the radiance emanating from Felix and the constant mention of Karna caused Arjuna's sealed memories to gradually recover the "human" aspect.

Even the perfect and all-powerful Hindu god showed an unprecedented flaw at this moment. He was blasted back into the crack in mid-air by the combined efforts of Felix and Tamamo-no-Mae, where he remained suspended for a long time without moving an inch.

"I..."

Felix didn't care what Arjuna was thinking. He immediately called the three women together and used their god-level powers to repair the cracks that had been broken by the Imaginary Tree.

When his eyes were completely closed, Arjuna watched the boy disappear from sight.

After a long pause, he said gratefully.

"Thank you... for helping me rediscover my 'heroic' side."

He was no longer a cold and indifferent being, like a robot AI.

Instead, he was a great hero willing to lend a helping hand to the weak.

Arjuna looked upon everything on earth and deeply felt the evil within it; boundless divine power surged forth from within him.

"Death is my atonement… May this world, filled with my sins, return to the right path safely."

...

Felix felt a sense of relief after dealing with Arjuna.

Luckily, he knew how to counter that particular weakness, otherwise he would have been finished today.

It has to be said that in the Moon World, a special attack is undoubtedly the strongest.

The only pain point is how to trigger it.

As Arjuna moved away, Tamamo-no-Mae unhesitatingly unleashed her revenge. A giant golden claw headed straight for Valhalla, located on the outer edge of the world, and used the magic power she had been absorbing over the past few days to forcibly crush all the records belonging to Ashiya Dōman.

Tamamo-no-Mae turned around, her golden form used for battle completely disappearing, leaving only her soft pink fur. She jumped up excitedly and hugged Felix's neck.

"Yay! We've finally gotten our revenge for all the regrets of our lives!"

"Where's the White Giant?" Felix teased, making her blush.

"Ahem, do you want to ask Izanami?"

The dark blue-haired girl who was called out coughed a few times, looked around awkwardly, and said something.

"The creator god is not necessarily the most powerful."

"Yes, yes, besides, that level of existence is not something that just anyone can defeat."

Ibuki-dōji paused for a moment, then, with a cheerful gait, lowered her head and breathed warm, moist air into Felix's earlobe, murmuring something.

"But we believe you can definitely do it!"

Yeah, right.

Felix rolled his eyes. He really wanted to defeat the white giant, but he'd wait until he stacked up his power first.

You defended Kyoto.

Countless people were cheering your name.

Just as people felt genuine joy upon seeing the sun, they raised their hands in celebration.

Your power reached its peak in an instant.

Furthermore, given Izanami's extreme closeness to you, you could be considered, in a sense, the royal family's "unrelated father."

[Regardless of the era, your legendary experiences are enough to earn you the title of "unconventional".]

Back home, even Felix couldn't hold back her emotions.

Luckily he ran fast; otherwise, he could have turned Kyoto into his private playground.

"Thank you for protecting the civilization that I and my children have built and for showing me the future of humanity."

Izanami bowed and expressed her gratitude.

If it weren't for Felix, or if he had simply run away with the Nine-Tailed Fox, the life she had painstakingly watched grow up would have been destroyed.

No one knows what kind of mindset "Human Reason" had or what kind of judgment it made about Felix.

Instead of summoning Karna, Arjuna was allowed to descend upon the land of human history.

"It should."

Felix replied nonchalantly, saying he was already mentally prepared and never believed in anything that couldn't be relied upon.

Seeing how calm he was, Izanami asked incredulously.

"Don't you have any other thoughts in your mind?"

"Well, in my opinion, 'Human Reason' is like a human-machine interface; you can hardly predict what it will do."

"It's also possible that He thinks He's messing around and might do something outrageous."

"For example, when Arjuna saw Karna, his fighting spirit would be instantly ignited, and he would launch an attack on the earth without hesitation. He wouldn't have been awakened to his heroic side by me like before and would have returned to Lostbelt in a daze."

Simply put, Karna is a trump card in defeating Arjuna.

But he's also a card that will provoke him.

Whenever "Human Reason" summons Karna at such a time, Felix suspects that He might be a traitor.

"Is this...?"

Izanami, who knew nothing about Indian history, scratched her head blankly, then smiled as she realized it made sense.

"That's great; I thought you would be rejected."

In that case, you would be exiled to a cold space.

Then I would have no choice but to keep my word and keep my eyes on you forever.

I wouldn't be too far away from you.

"You're so calm, Felix. I like you so much."

Ibuki-dōji hugged Felix again, gently rubbing his face with her huge, tender hands.

You couldn't find any other excuse, so you did it on purpose, didn't you?

Felix saw through all of Ibuki-dōji's motives.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Unless, of course, Human Reason truly wants to face Kukulkan alone.

Felix had nothing to say.

---

"Hmph, if He dares, we might as well try a bolder approach."

The pink-furred fox smiled and blinked, its beautiful golden eyes revealing the indifference and cruelty that originated from the supreme god.

She already knew how to become a beast, even though the one she loved was just a human, a purely human being.

With love for Felix, absorb endless malice, advance to become a beast, or use the power of the sun to go to the imaginary space, bring out Tiamat, and ignite a fever for "human reason"!

This matter has already been recorded in the account of the beast-like creature.

It doesn't require overly complicated operations; simply using the beast's powers is sufficient.

Even though the beast wasn't very strong, it still fought back.

"Alright, alright, stop being so clingy."

Felix reached out and patted Fox on the shoulder, afraid that his lovestruck little wife might suddenly go crazy and give him a big surprise.

"Hmm~"

Tamamo-no-Mae nestled into his embrace, a slight smile playing on her lips.

As long as Felix is still around, she won't reach such an extreme state.

Some of her words were merely an excuse to get her lover to come and comfort her.

"Oh dear, the crisis is over now, and you don't like cleaning up the mess, so how about we have a meal together?"

Ibuki-dōji's suggestion caused Izanami's delicate body to tremble violently, her exquisite face instantly turning bright red. She awkwardly raised her hands and shook her head frantically.

"No, no... I, I won't go. I, I still need to take care of my descendants..."

"Really not coming? It's so much fun! You can even fall asleep when you're tired, it's really comfortable."

Ibuki quickly tried to entice her.

Unfortunately, Izanami couldn't bear it anymore; the scene she had witnessed earlier was already flashing through her mind.

"I...I'd better go first!"

It's supposed to be a gathering, but given your current relationship...

Waaah, I feel like I'm becoming an outsider.

Izanami ran away in a flash, hid in the sky, and quietly squatted down in a corner.

I cannot accept ways that blaspheme the primordial gods.

That method of having a child...

Gradually, a curiosity appeared in Izanami's eyes that she herself was unaware of.

Is it really that fun?

No, Izanami, what are you thinking?

...

Well, Felix proved to me that humans should replace the gods.

A novel approach... I'll try it another time.

Seeing Izanami running so fast, Felix didn't stop her. He understood her feelings. After enjoying some tenderness with Tamamo-no-Mae, he said...

"Let's talk about it later. I have something I need to do right now."

Okay~ Remember to come back early.

Ibuki-dōji has already gone to get some sake, brewing a new crisis for Felix.

"Are we going to see Minamoto no Yorimitsu?" Tamamo-no-Mae asked casually.

"Yes, I feel like something's not right about her."

"Go ahead then; we'll always support you!"

Touched by the kind and adorable fox, Felix hugged her again, unaware of the smile in Tamamo-no-Mae's eyes.

The kissing and hugging lasted a very long time, until Tamamo-no-Mae had completely imbued Felix with her scent before finally letting him go, satisfied.

"It's getting late; go ahead."

"Ah."

...

Ever since realizing the gap between himself and Felix, Minamoto no Yorimitsu has trained himself relentlessly, trying to catch up with the boy.

Even if I'm not as good as him, I still...
