Chapter 97 - 97

Chapter 1407: Who Is Tai Shan? (2)

Su Yu nodded. The past explorers had probably believed that this design was some weird fetish or joke. Since they hadn't been able to gain much from their explorations, they had eventually given up on further investigations.

However, Su Yu knew that the design of this place held a massive significance. Sure, the treasures here might seem less valuable compared to carrier treasures or some other treasures one could find elsewhere. But the actual benefits one could reap here were incredible as well.

"Let's go."

Su Yu did not bother to explain further. His water character appeared and transformed into a ball around them. Then, they sank into the sea together. The deeper they went, the higher the pressure was. Eventually, even Su Yu found it suffocating to continue staying underwater.

However, he persisted and continued sinking. That gave Xia Huyou and the others a massive scare. If Su Yu were to die from this, all of them would die as well.

"Enough, enough. If we go any deeper, we won't be able to return anymore..."

"Who told you we're going deeper?"

Su Yu glanced at Xia Huyou with disdain. This was an ear. Thus, he had to start moving to the side to enter the ear canal instead of going straight down. After all, this was the ear, not the eye. It merely didn't look like one because of the water flooding the ear.

While moving to the side, Su Yu said, "We will reach the bottom if we go deeper. There's nothing valuable there. This is the left ear. We need to move to the right as that's where the ear canal is." ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novel⦿fire.net

"Are you sure?" Xia Huyou asked doubtfully, "The human race has been exploring this level for hundreds of years. It's not that nobody has explored in this direction before. However, you will only encounter a solid wall to the right. Everything in the Luminous Domain Mansion is incredibly durable. Even if you do manage to get through the wall, you won't find anything."

"You can believe what you want."

Before long, Su Yu decided on a location and started bombarding it. However, nothing happened.

Xia Huyou grumbled, "I told you..."

"Told my ass. Make way!"

Then, Su Yu threw a punch with all his strength. With that punch, he was finally able to create a tiny opening on the wall. As he continued punching it, he said, "I will expand the hole slightly before entering. The water will enter as well so you better be careful. A normal human will start shaking their head around when water enters their ear."

"Nonsense."

Xia Huyou laughed with amusement. Was this a joke? But he couldn't help but start wondering. Would that really happen? Wouldn't that be terrifying? This was the Human Face World. If such a world started shaking...wouldn't it be world-ending?

Su Yu continued bombarding the wall with his punches. Even after half an hour, he had only created a tiny opening on it. Anyone else would have given up by now.

As far as everyone else was concerned, only a madman would persist in punching a wall for no reason. Even Su Yu, who was mustering the strength of a Sunmoon, was having such a hard time with it. What about Mountainseas and Cloudbreaches? Would they have to spend their entire month here?

However, Su Yu did not doubt himself. He was certain that the ear canal was behind this wall. This so-called wall was merely the accumulated earwax. As long as he could remove it, the passage would be clear. As for the famous solidwater pearls, they were probably the crumbs that had fallen off the blockage here.

After an hour, even Su Yu started panting. Finally, Huang Teng lost patience and suggested, "Brother Su, shall we forget this? The water pressure is massive while the wall is impregnable. Are you sure there's a passage behind the wall?"

Su Yu continued punching the wall as he said, "Grab each other tightly. Be ready to catch my arm. The moment the passage is clear, water will start flowing in. There might be a reaction to that. With a single shake, the entire Ear Sea will be gone. The Ear Sea will cease existing after today."

Was this a joke? They were doubtful, but the certainty in Su Yu's voice caused them to wonder if he was really right. Suddenly, a loud crackling sound rang out. The wall before them finally crumbled apart. When they saw what was behind the wall, their expressions changed. There was really a passage there!

This was not a surprise to Su Yu. He merely smiled with satisfaction.

Behind the crumbling wall, a gust of incomparably dense source qi flowed out. Also at the same time, everyone in the Human Face World had an illusion that someone had just moaned in satisfaction.

The blockage in the ear had finally been cleared. This would naturally feel great. Even the Human Face World would feel uncomfortable after so many years of blockage. Finally, someone had cleared the blockage. How comfortable.

But the comfort only lasted a short moment as the water pouring into the ear canal started causing the Human Face World discomfort again. Meanwhile, Xia Huyou and the others were completely stunned.

They felt as though they were bathing in source qi. Additionally, numerous solidwater pearls were also shooting out of the passage behind the wall. They were massive, and there were a lot of them.

Xia Huyou's eyes shone as he exclaimed, "Holy shit! This...just one of these pearls will be enough to help a warrior reach the ninth-stage Skysoar Realm! No, it might even be enough to reach the Cloudbreach Realm! Holy shit! There are so many of them!"

These pearls were absolute treasures for body cultivators.

Su Yu didn't even spare the pearls a glance as he said, "All these? Trash. They are merely the crumbs of the accumulated earwax. If you really want them, feel free to pick them up. I'm entering. Are you guys coming?"

"Yes!"

Xia Huyou hurriedly signaled Huang Teng to start gathering all the solidwater pearls nearby.

Eventually, the pushing force from behind the wall vanished, allowing the seawater to start flowing inside the passage. At that moment, Su Yu grabbed everyone and said, "Let's go. You can pick up the trash here later. I have a feeling this air will start moving soon."

He had barely finished his words when the entire world started shaking. The shaking was so intense that Xia Huyou couldn't even see clearly anymore. From above, one would be able to see the entire ear twitching while the seawater roiled violently.

The few explorers seeking for treasures nearby were instantly struck by the towering waves of the Ear Sea. In fact, the waves were so violent that every one of these explorers was smashed into pieces.

The movement was so intense that everyone in the Human Face World could sense the tremors. When they looked toward the direction the tremors were coming from, all they saw were towering waves, moving with enough momentum to kill even Mountainseas.

"Run!"

"Something is happening!"

The expressions of numerous people changed. Something like this had never happened before. The ear continued twitching, seemingly trying to shake the water out of it. Or to be precise, the left ear was trying to shake the water off it. Meanwhile, the right ear remained blocked. Thus, there wasn't much movement there.

Boom!

It felt as though the world was ending. Dozens of cultivators were killed by the rampaging waves. Every one of them had a look of despair right before dying. How was this happening? Why was this happening?

Why was the Ear Sea rampaging? They had heard of people drowning in the sea before. Most of them had laughed at those fools. But now, nobody was laughing anymore.

***

Outside.

Instantly, over thirty tunnels collapsed.

The expression of the Invincibles changed yet again.

Damn it!

Not this again!

Numerous gazes landed on Divine King Yang Yu. He was still recovering from his previous exhaustion. When he felt the gazes, he frowned and said, "My son must have reached the first level. He is probably fighting the culprit. This might be a result of the major battle. Or perhaps that person is starting to kill again."

Someone else said, "Just what is happening on the first level? Can anyone contact a descendant on the first level? Is there anyone here with a surviving descendant on the first level?"

The Invincibles started looking at each other. Before long, an immortal king said, "Someone from my line was on the first level, but I'm not sure if he's still there..."

"Try contacting him! We can compensate you for it!"

With a frown, the immortal king sank into thought. After a short moment, he nodded, "I'll ask. This time, there were even some humans among the dead. This..."

It no longer felt like the human race was the culprit. Su Yu had not bothered to warn the humans before exploring the Ear Sea. As far as he was concerned, he was already doing enough by sparing any human he encountered. He was not obligated to notify them one by one. In any case, nobody would take him seriously even if he were to warn them. It would be pointless.

Everyone was prepared to die when entering the Luminous Domain Mansion. Such a warning might be taken the wrong way. They might even assume that he was trying to lure them away to steal their treasures.

The immortal king who had volunteered to contact his descendant had only done so out of impatience. After all, he had lost several people on the first level so far. Before long, he sat down cross-legged and activated his River of Time.

***

At the same time.

An immortal was busy fleeing with a group of immortals on the first level. Suddenly, his sea of willpower trembled while his bloodline burned. He was overjoyed. But at the same time, sorrow enveloped him as he saw the immortals behind him dying to the waves one after another.

After a long time, he finally escaped the waves and found the time to focus on his sea of willpower.

A silhouette appeared in his sea of willpower. With an anxious tone, the silhouette asked, "What happened?"

He had maintained this connection for quite some time. He was near his limit.

"Ancestor...big changes have occurred in the Human Face World. The Ear Sea is raging and the world is shaking. Many...many died..."

"Ear Sea?"

So this was a natural disaster? Right at that moment, the immortal king reached his limit and ended the connection.

***

Outside, the immortal king coughed a mouthful of blood as his River of Time snapped. On his pale face, an odd expression could be seen. When he looked around, he said, "Nobody is...slaughtering everyone...it's...a major change with the Human Face World itself. The Ear Sea is raging, killing numerous treasure seekers with its waves..."

"What?"

"Impossible!"

"Why have the humans suffered such few casualties, then?"

All the Invincibles found that unbelievable. It was the Luminous Domain Mansion? It wasn't the human race? They had all confidently blamed the humans for this. But they were all wrong?

Numerous gazes landed on Dao King. That was the person who had confidently blamed Su Yu for the disaster. But Su Yu was still in his city. More importantly, this wasn't even the work of the humans. This was a natural disaster. Was the Luminous Domain Mansion damaged?

***

At the same time.

Heavenly Hunt Pavilion.

An Invincible exclaimed in surprise, "I thought it was a human expert, but all of us were wrong."

"A major change of the Luminous Domain Mansion itself?"

"It has remained the same for so many years. These people...are truly unlucky to enter the mansion when it finally decides to change."

"Sigh. I lost a few good seedlings to this disaster as well."

The Invincibles started lamenting among themselves.

Meanwhile, in an unseen corner of the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion, a scholar was muttering to himself, "A massive change at the Ear Sea? Ear Sea...that was not a sea in the past...was it...Su Yu? Did someone...unblock the ear passage?"

For some reason, the scholar couldn't shake off the feeling that this was related to Su Yu. Nevertheless, there was no need for him to share his suspicion with anyone. The Ear Sea did not exist during the ancient past. Perhaps the ear passage had finally been unblocked, resulting in such a reaction.

"Was it Su Yu? If it was him, what secret did he discover there?"

Human Face World...first level.

In the past, that was the level the subordinates of the Human Emperor resided on. Very few members of the myriad races would go there. Thus, the scholar was quite unfamiliar with that level as well. He only knew that there were a lot of secrets there. One could say that the entire Luminous Domain Mansion was filled with secrets.

"Is this a sign that a new Emperor will emerge soon?"

He was more and more certain of that. First, the White Jade Gate moved. Then, something major happened in the Human Face World. Even the transference process hadn't been as smooth as in the past. All this was pointing toward the fact that someone extremely special was among the people who had entered the mansion this time.

Chapter 1408: Who Is Tai Shan? (3)

While everyone was talking about what was happening in surprise, Su Yu and the others were being assaulted by an intense dizzy spell. Su Yu had to grab tightly onto a random protrusion on the wall until his palm bled to prevent himself from being blown away by the tremors. After some time, he exhaled in relief. It was finally over.

From the outside, one would be able to see that the sea was gone. All the seawater had been shaken off. The boundless sea had transformed into countless waves, smashing countless people to their deaths.

At the bottom of the now-empty sea, numerous pearls could be seen. They were light yellow in color. These were the so-called solidwater pearls, the so-called precious treasures of Xia Huyou. They had been stuck there for countless years.

Slowly, Xia Huyou and the others recovered. When they looked outside again, they were stunned. They were hanging right in front of a cave in the middle of a towering cliff.

When they looked down, they...swallowed.

Countless solidwater pearls.

A terrifying number of solidwater pearls.

Some of them were so big they might as well be mountains. Xia Huyou mumbled, "Impossible! Solidwater pearls of such size should not exist. This is fake. The one I ate when I was a kid was only as big as a broadbean..."

Huang Teng was blanking out as well. He muttered in disbelief, "I ate a few before as well...even the biggest was the size of a bun..."

He was completely stunned. So a solidwater pearl could grow to the size of a mountain?

Even Yellow Nine, who had experienced and eaten all sorts of treasures, was stunned. "I...I saw one the size of a millstone in the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion before..." She continued staring at the massive solidwater pearls below her blankly.

She didn't know what to say. Just one of these giant solidwater pearls would be enough to produce tens of thousands of Skysoars or even Cloudbreaches. These pearls could be used for both body forging and source qi transformation.

In fact, some could even be used as carrier treasures. Only the bigger solidwater pearls were left behind. The smaller ones had all been washed away by the waves when the sea was rampaging earlier. However, there were still countless desk-sized solidwater pearls left behind.

Even Su Yu was quite surprised. With a smile, he said, "Not bad at all. The biggest piece is mine. You guys can gather the rest if you want."

Instantly, Xia Huyou shot down and started gathering the solidwater pearls madly.

He was losing his mind. He did not want to leave anymore. Just these pearls would be enough to help Great Xia recover from all its recent losses. He didn't even care about the largest piece. He knew it wouldn't be his.

Just the smaller pieces would be an unimaginable sum of wealth. Huang Teng was doing the same. Yellow Nine was tempted as well, but soon, she snorted and gave up on it. Unlike the two, she was a prisoner here. No matter how many she gathered, Su Yu could easily take them all from her.

Su Yu was in no rush. Only a day had passed. What was the rush? He could take his time. With a wave of his hand, his book drifted downward before manifesting more than ten Sunmoon beasts. Together, the beasts attempted to lift the largest piece of solidwater pearl only to fail. Thus, even more Sunmoon beasts appeared. Finally, the pearl was lifted. With a rumble, it was stored in the book.

Noticing Su Yu waiting patiently while the other two were gathering the solidwater pearls, Yellow Nine said, "That solidwater pearl alone is enough to purchase two carrier treasures."

"That's too cheap." Su Yu said, "I can consider selling it for a minimum price of three carrier treasures. After all, something like this will require tens of thousands of years to form."

Including the two nasal hairs, his total gains from the mansion had reached around five carrier treasures in value. And that was excluding the numerous smaller nasal hairs that he had gathered as well.

It had only been slightly over a day since he entered the mansion. And these weren't even the main benefits he had gained from the mansion. Originally, he had eight carrier treasures. Two had been used to forge the Mark of Civilization. Thus, his harvests here were enough to double the number of carrier treasures he had.

While countless people were going crazy for even one carrier treasure, Su Yu had been freely wasting his carrier treasures. Including those he had used previously, he had collected more than ten of them thus far.

His reply left Yellow Nine speechless, so she decided to stop talking. Before long, Xia Huyou and Huang Teng returned. They had not picked the place clean. There were simply too many pearls around for them to clean.

Aware that Su Yu had something else to do, Xia Huyou said, "You don't have to wait here. Just go and do what you need to do. We will stay here for some time to clean this place. It's too much of a waste to leave them behind."

Su Yu smiled, "It's fine. Yellow Nine can help with this. We can enter together. There are more benefits to be gained. There are probably more useless treasures inside that I'm uninterested in. You guys are free to collect the trash."

"..."

Yellow Nine was so furious she felt like coughing blood. Meanwhile, Xia Huyou laughed awkwardly and said, "There's no need for that...right?"

Su Yu laughed it off, "Don't worry about it. Just come with me. Great Xia has suffered a lot of losses recently so you can have these treasures. Honestly, most of these things are useless to me. I don't care about them."

Then, he turned and entered the passage. After exchanging a glance with each other, Xia Huyou and Huang Teng gave Yellow Nine an awkward laugh before following Su Yu. They couldn't resist the temptation.

Su Yu was too incredible. Even the leftover trash of someone so incredible would be enough to feed them well. No, his leftover trash would be enough to feed half of Great Xia well. Harvesting treasures from the Luminous Domain Mansion had never felt so easy.

While following behind Su Yu, Xia Huyou said, "Why does this place feel like its your home? Su Yu, are you sure you're unrelated to this mansion? After all, you're Yu (Domain) while this place is called the Luminous Domain (Yu)."

He couldn't help but suspect that.

Su Yu did not put much thought into that suspicion. He looked around and said, "This place is mine. Even if it's not mine now, it will be mine sooner or later. Human Face World...isn't it obvious? You guys have merely been oblivious to the proper way of utilizing this place. If you doubt me, you can cut your left ear off and toss it down later. Something interesting will happen."

What madness was this? The two were left speechless. As they traversed the passage behind Su Yu, they gathered even more treasures. Su Yu was too picky. He would only pick up the things that were useful to him personally or his weaponsmithing. Otherwise, he would ignore anything below the level of a heaven weapon.

Eventually, they reached the end of the passage. Suddenly, Xia Huyou and Huang Teng started coughing blood. Even Su Yu was feeling an intense pain as blood started flowing out of his left ear.

He wasted no time and cut his left ear off. Then, he tossed it atop the platform in front of him, allowing the unique rhythm coming from the platform to wash over his ear.

His action stunned both Xia Huyou and Huang Teng. The two were in great pain, feeling as though their brains were going to turn into mush soon. Desperate, they followed Su Yu's lead and cut their left ears off before tossing them onto the platform as well. Right after doing that, the intense pain receded.

Su Yu said, "Someone clueless might end up overstaying here and having their brain turned into mush by the sound waves. Not even a Sunmoon can survive this. Any non-human will also die upon setting foot here. This place is essentially a treasure trove for humans. The Luminous Domain Mansion belongs to the human race. Or to be specific, it belongs to a human. And that human will most likely be me."

"..."

Once again, the two were stunned speechless. Huang Teng asked, "Su Yu...did you figure all this out yourself or did you learn about this from some ancient records?" ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novèlfire.net

"I figured everything out myself." He looked at Huang Teng and smiled, "Do you even need to read the ancient records to learn this? The clues are so obvious. Human Face World. The name itself is a major clue. Brow Mountain. Ear Sea. Double Dragon Gorge. Isn't it obvious? Why do you need to learn this from some ancient records? Just think."

Were these clues not obvious? How could they miss all these clues?

Xia Huyou said, "It's not that simple. Nobody will do something like cutting their ears off upon reaching this place."

This wasn't something a normal person would do. At most, they would try to resist the pain with their ears.

Xia Huyou couldn't resist asking, "Did you cut your nose off earlier?"

Su Yu nodded. He ignored Xia Huyou's gaze and continued immersing himself in the changes his ear was undergoing. He was focusing. Focusing on the sounds that he could not hear before this.

"Pain..."

"So much pain!"

The platform in front of them was seemingly complaining about pain. The look in Su Yu's eyes changed. What was going on?

What?

Pain?

In Su Yu's eyes, the Human Face World was merely a super tool forged in accordance to a human face. That was all. In that case, what was this voice?

"Pain..."

"So much pain!"

"Why...did you kill me? Why...I...did nothing wrong...why..."

The look in Su Yu's eyes changed repeatedly as he listened to the faint voice.

He hurriedly asked, "Is anyone hearing anything?"

"What?"

"Can you hear someone speaking?"

"No..."

They looked at him with astonishment. What was it this time? Su Yu frowned. He could hear someone speaking. To be precise, he could hear someone crying in pain. Damn it! What was this?

His heart thumped rapidly as a certain possibility emerged in his mind.

The builder of the Luminous Domain Mansion...had killed a supreme expert before forging it into the Human Face World.

Was that the case?

But why could he hear the voice when nobody else could?

A certain idea came to him. He acted on it, shutting one of his acupoints. Immediately, the voice faded away.

Su Yu's expression changed.

"Grand cycle acupoints!"

The victim was someone who had opened the grand cycle acupoints as well! Was that why he could hear the victim? Was that the case? When he reopened the acupoint and linked it with his other acupoints, the voice returned. It was intermittent, but there was no denying what he was hearing.

"Why...I wasn't wrong...Tai Shan...you killed me...I reject your reason..."

"..."

Tai Shan!

Who was Tai Shan? Was that the Human Emperor? Or was it someone else? Was the Human Emperor the builder of this mansion? Numerous questions emerged in Su Yu's mind. He was overwhelmed with shock. A supreme expert had been killed. A supreme human expert. His head had been forged into the first level of the mansion. This...was truly ruthless.

"This is real! This is a real human head! Tai Shan killed him! Was the victim a...Daofuse? Or beyond?"

That realization further shocked Su Yu. Was a Daofuse really so powerful? Even after dying, his head could be forged into a world? How terrifying.

The more Su Yu thought of it, the more terrified he became. The builder of this mansion was most definitely not a pushover. Was that a human? If the builder was a human, why did the builder kill a supreme human expert?

"It hurts..."

The cries of pain continued. Alarmed, Su Yu hurriedly shut one of his acupoints again. He had heard something terrifying while trying to forge his ear. He could feel the sound waves of that voice resounding within his head repeatedly.

He could feel that if he kept listening to it, he might be driven to madness. In fact, he was starting to pale. That voice was merely a remnant of an ancient grudge, yet it was enough to give his mind such pressure.

"Tai Shan..."

When mentioning that name, the indignation and fury in the voice had greatly intensified.

Tai Shan!

This was the very first name from the ancient past Su Yu knew. It was no title. Rather, it was a name. Tai Shan.

Was that the Time Sage? Was that the master of the Culture Tomb? Was that the Human Emperor?

These were the people from the ancient past Su Yu was most interested in. And all three of them were most likely humans. Time Sage. Human Emperor. Master of Culture Tomb. Was Tai Shan one of them?

Chapter 1409: The Great Freak Is Here! (1)

"Tai Shan..."

Su Yu muttered to himself. Who was that? The mere mention of that name seemed to have courted massive disaster.

Boom!

A devastating explosion erupted. Su Yu was trembling. Or to be precise, the entire Human Face World was trembling.

"Tai Shan!"

A furious roar rang out, the sound waves rumbling through his brain, causing him to cough a mouthful of blood. Xia Huyou and Huang Teng couldn't hear anything, but they could feel the fury coming from the world. They could feel the intense tremors. They could feel the danger. An incomparably powerful aura was emerging in the entire Luminous Domain Mansion.

"Tai Shan!"

The furious roar resounded everywhere, but Su Yu was the only person capable of hearing it. Fury, indignance, bitter resentment, and despair could be heard in that roar. By mentioning a single name, Su Yu had triggered a massive disaster.

***

At the same time.

Outside the Luminous Domain Mansion.

The White Jade Gate started shaking violently. Then, the tremors spread throughout the Allheaven Battlefield. It was as though the world itself was raging.

Boom!

The Sea of Stars roiled and churned.

The expressions of the various Invincibles changed drastically.

Just what was going on?

It felt as though the seemingly indestructible White Jade Gate itself was struggling to hold something back. The sky raged and the sea rampaged as space itself cracked open while the realm barriers of numerous realms trembled violently.

More than ten powerful projections appeared in the Allheaven Battlefield. At the same time, the projections of the stone statues appeared above their stone cities as well. All of them looked surprised. Why was the Luminous Domain Mansion going crazy?

Once again, the Grand Dream City emerged from the sea. Floating above the city was the old turtle with an odd expression. The Heavenly Hunt Pavilion reappeared as well. At the top of the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion, the scholar looked outside doubtfully. What was going on?

The Luminous Domain Mansion had stood still for countless years. What was up with it today? At that moment, even more tunnels collapsed. More people were dying inside the mansion. An apocalyptic disaster was sweeping through the first level.

"What's happening?" Someone exclaimed in fear, "Is the Luminous Domain Mansion collapsing?"

"Tch. The mansion will stand long after you die."

Someone else said, "It is impossible for the Luminous Domain Mansion to collapse. This is the strongest divine weapon in existence. It has persisted since the ancient past. This is where the heavenly laws of the Myriad Realms reside. If this place collapses, the heavenly laws will collapse as well."

In short, that wasn't possible. The mansion would stand forever. Something must have happened inside the mansion, triggering such an intense reaction. In fact, the entrance of the mansion was showing signs of opening even when it had been shut for what felt like an eternity. Someone exclaimed in alarm, "Is this gate...finally usable?"

"You will know if you give it a try."

It wasn't like nobody had tried forcing their way through the gate before. However, all of them had died without fail. Thus, even when the White Jade Gate was showing signs of opening, nobody dared to try using it.

No, that wasn't entirely accurate. Some people were still brazen enough to try. Abruptly, a dark figure shot toward the gate. At the moment, numerous treasures could be seen beyond the White Jade Gate. That was catching a lot of attention.

Some would see the nine-leaf skylotus when they looked at the gate. Some would see a supreme divine weapon when looking at the gate. Some would see a carrier treasure. Some would see an intact divine corpse.

The Invincibles in the area noticed the attempt, but none bothered to stop the dark figure. None of them even bothered to say anything. Since someone was volunteering to test the door, why should they stop the volunteer?

After all, even these Invincibles were tempted to enter through the main gate. In the blink of an eye, the dark figure reached the White Jade Gate. Then... The gate shook slightly, instantly reducing the dark figure into dust. Nothing was left behind. Up in the sky, a nearly full moon dropped.

A ninth-stage Sunmoon had died instantly.

Perhaps that was an expert from a minor race. For the sake of dao affirmation, he had risked everything. Ultimately, he was reduced to nothingness. At his death, the stirring crowd finally calmed down.

Their expressions turned solemn.

The gate was still as dangerous as ever.

The White Jade Gate.

A sigh rang out in the air as someone said, "In the ancient past, this gate was not known as the White Jade Gate. Rather, it was known as the Heaven Gate. When the heavenly gate opens, the myriad races bow in obeisance. That was a saying from the ancient past. Only a small number of people could go through this gate. For the myriad races, the opening of this gate would signal the arrival of a supreme existence. How dare a mere Sunmoon dream of going through this door? Even the likes of us...are unqualified to use it."

Numerous people looked toward the speaker. However, they were met with the sight of a River of Time strewn across the sky. All sorts of scenes were playing out atop the river. Some were scenes of the future. Some were scenes of the past. Some Invincibles even saw their future deaths on the river.

Their expressions changed.

"Fate Emperor!"

The Pseudo Emperor of the ancient race known as the fate race.

At the same time, someone ripped the sky apart. Then, a pair of big eyes peeked out of the opening. That was the big furball, who was stealing glances at the River of Time. Just as everyone shivered, thinking that the furballs were going to do something major again, the big furball asked doubtfully, "Uhm...Old Man, you're not dead? Woah! You're not dead! I thought you died long ago!"

An old man with white hair and beard took form above the River of Time. He looked in the direction of the Soul Devourer Realm and smiled, "Esteemed Soy Bun."

"..."

Silence descended.

Yes. Absolute silence had enveloped the Myriad Realms. Even with the tremors running through the Myriad Realms, no sound could be heard. Soy Bun. That Soy Bun was pronounced in a weird accent, but it was unmistakably spoken in the human language. That was the Pseudo Emperor of the soul devourers.

The Pseudo Emperor of the fate race was calling him...Soy Bun?

The big furball was not angered. Rather, he continued staring at the Fate Pseudo Emperor for a very long time before saying, "You smell good. Very good. I think you smell better than Tiangu now! You're the same fate!"

"Not at all."

The old man smiled and said, "The person you know is my grandfather. However, we did met before."

"Oh oh oh...you guys look the same. You're different from Tiangu and his dada. I can easily differentiate between the two. His dada did not smell as good. I already knew he would be very yummy after growing up back when I first saw Tiangu."

"..."

Once again, silence enveloped the Myriad Realms. This was a conversation between incredibly ancient existences. The conversation involved three ancient experts. Immortal Pseudo Emperor, Fate Pseudo Emperor, and Pseudo Emperor Soy Bun?

That was the thought emerging in the minds of some people. As of late, these undying old geezers had started appearing with increased frequency. Was this a sign?

After all, some existences had faded from the public eye for too long. For example, the Fate Pseudo Emperor and the so-called Soy Bun. That was especially true for Soy Bun. He had been in seclusion for a terrifyingly long time.

He had slept through numerous eras. Yet now, these ancient existences were starting to emerge. What did this signify? An Invincible who had seen his own death on the River of Time couldn't resist asking, "Fate Emperor, will I die?"

The white-haired old man glanced at the Invincible and smiled, "Nobody can predict the future. Not you. Not me. Nobody. At most, we can only see one of the millions upon millions of possibilities. Everyone will die. It is only a matter of time."

The Invincible sank into silence. That was insufficient to calm his anxiety.

Something seemed different about this era. Numerous changes were occurring.

The ancient cities were starting to move actively.

The Luminous Domain Mansion was seemingly reawakening as well.

The ancient races were also returning one after another.

All these existences had not emerged for numerous eras. But now, they had returned.

The thirty-six ancient experts of the ancient cities had remained still for countless years. But now, they were starting to grow active. Even the assembly tokens had reappeared. Over forty of them had been used not long ago.

An Invincible looked at the human encampment and said, "Fate Emperor, will the humans rise this time? Or will they fall? Will the endless cycle continue? Can we never overcome this fate? Can we never overcome this injustice? All races face the risk of extinction. Why does this not apply to the human race?"

The humans believed that they were being treated unjustly. However, the myriad races believed the same. Why? So many races had ceased to exist. In each era, old races would fall and new races would rise. However, humanity alone endured. Tʜe source of this ᴄontent ɪs novelꜰire.net

Again and again.

Both Great Zhou King and Great Xia King were also looking at the River of Time thoughtfully. Great Zhou King saw many things. As for Great Xia King, he saw himself cutting a Pseudo Emperor apart...before dying.

He sank into silence.

Humanity would not fall. That had never changed.

The Fate Pseudo Emperor said, "Nine is the limit. Since the ancient past, nine cycles have passed. This is the tenth cycle. Having surpassed the limit, balance shall return. Perhaps...this is an era where victory and defeat can finally be decided."

The old man sighed, "Do not lament the injustice of fate. Fate is fair. Humanity has survived nine collapses. That was the result of the advantage they had gained during the ancient past. However, they had exhausted all their advantage."

The permanence of humanity was no injustice. Rather, they were merely enjoying the advantage their ancestors had gathered for them.

Their ancestors were too powerful. The ancient legacies had sustained humanity through nine cycles. This was the tenth cycle. Humanity had fully exhausted its advantage. No longer able to rely on their ancestors, the humans of this era could only rely on themselves.

Great Xia King's expression changed slightly, but he said nothing. He had to take those words seriously. Why? Because the person speaking was the leader of the ancient and mysterious fate race.

Right as everyone was enveloped in a repressive silence, the big furball said, "Old scammer. Back then, your grandpa said that I would get to eat Tiangu one day. But that didn't happen! Scammer!"

Chapter 1410: The Great Freak Is Here! (2)

The Fate Pseudo Emperor shook slightly before saying, "Perhaps...that will come true in this era."

The moment he said that, someone shouted, "Impudent! Fate Emperor, not even you can insult the immortals like this!"

In terms of status, Tiangu was above the Pseudo Fate Emperor.

The Pseudo Fate Emperor said, "Forgive me for rambling on."

Then, he vanished with his River of Time. Only his voice was left resounding in the air, "This time, the Luminous Domain Mansion is filled with disaster. I'm afraid less than one-tenth of them will survive. Prepare yourselves, everyone."

Countless expressions changed.

Less than one-tenth would survive.

Was a calamity really coming?

One ought to remember that this time, more than twenty Invincibles had entered the mansion as well. The number of Sunmoons who had entered was also far higher than the previous openings. There were at least three hundred of them. Almost every race had sent at least one Sunmoon into the mansion, and almost all the index geniuses had entered as well.

These elites numbered more than a thousand. These were the pillars of the Myriad Realms. Would all these people die inside?

The major races, in particular, were greatly alarmed. This included the human race. Compared to the other races, they had sent a higher number of people into the mansion. In fact, the major races alone had sent nearly five hundred people into the mansion combined. If the Fate Pseudo Emperor was right, a majority of these people would die.

"That's an old scammer! Don't listen to him!"

The big furball shouted, "I took a peek at the future earlier. There are at least ten survivors! That scammer claimed that there would be fewer than one survivor! That's a lie! He lied!"

"..."

His words did nothing to calm the various experts down. Rather, his words chilled their hearts. Nobody could deny that the big furball was a supreme expert. How strong was he exactly?

Nobody could be sure. They only knew that even the young Devil Pseudo Emperor might not be his match. If someone like that was claiming to have caught a glimpse of the future, it would be very likely that he was speaking the truth. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ NoveI[F]ire.net

At least...ten survivors?

What joke was that? A total of 3,600 people had entered. More than 20 were Invincibles. Also, did the furball not understand the meaning of one-tenth? One-tenth was not the same as one.

In any case, two Pseudo Emperors had given a grim prediction regarding the fates of those inside the mansion. A depressing atmosphere enveloped everyone.

Great Xia King had a dark expression as well. His grandson and great-grandson had entered the mansion. Great Xia had suffered massive losses not long ago. If they were to lose Xia Huyou and Xia Longwu as well...Great Xia might as well declare its collapse in advance.

He looked at Great Zhou King and sent a voice transmission, "Fortune Teller, you're good at fortune telling as well. What's your take on their words?"

Great Zhou King shook his head and said, "You heard the Fate Emperor. It was merely one among millions upon millions of possibilities. It is not absolute. What they saw does not dictate the future itself. Due to their strength, they can see the possibilities that are more likely to happen. But that is not the sole possibility in existence. Anything is possible. The future is fickle. Old Xia, you already know this."

"I understand." Great Xia King said, "I do not believe in fate. If I were a believer in fate, I would have died long ago. I wouldn't have affirmed my dao. I wouldn't have founded Great Xia. However, things have indeed been changing too much recently..."

After a short silence, Great Zhou King nodded, "Yes. Many things have changed. Be careful. This is the tenth epoch."

The tenth cycle.

Humanity had survived nine cycles. They won some. They lost some. But they had endured.

What would happen during the tenth cycle? Had humanity fully exhausted the advantage built by their ancestors? That...might be the case.

They were out of ancient ruins. They were being targeted by the myriad races. They were unable to reactivate their suppressive force. A new Human Pseudo Emperor was nowhere in sight.

Could humanity survive until the closure of the Allheaven Battlefield yet again?

Each time the Allheaven Battlefield reopened, it would last between a thousand years to ten thousand years. On average, it would shut after around five thousand years. It had only been a thousand years since the start of the current epoch. If they were lucky, the epoch would not last long. If they were unlucky...the Allheaven Battlefield would remain open for thousands of years. And that was enough time to wipe humanity out.

Great Xia King sank into silence. When he looked at the White Jade Gate, he noted that it was slowly calming down again. The spatial cracks it had created around it still lingered, proving that nobody was seeing things.

It had indeed moved.

***

While everyone outside was contemplating the future with worry.

Inside the Luminous Domain Mansion.

Things had calmed down as well. While coughing blood, Su Yu cursed inwardly. He realized something. This person...could hear him as well.

Only him.

Of course, that would only happen if all 360 of his acupoints were active. The moment he shut some of them, the first level would not react.

"Tai Shan..."

When Su Yu called out again, nothing happened. In short, he could stop hearing the cries of pain and prevent the mysterious expert from hearing him by shutting off some of his acupoints.

He exhaled in relief. This was both scary and exciting. He seemed to have discovered yet another major secret. What was the name of this mysterious expert? It did not matter.

He only knew that the mysterious expert was terrifyingly strong. That might be someone who had opened all 720 of his acupoints and apertures and the heaven acupoint. That was someone who could kill Sunmoons by breathing. More importantly, this mysterious expert could do so even after dying.

Su Yu decided to temporarily refer to the mysterious expert as Old Zhou (Cycle). After all, that was an expert who had opened the grand cycle acupoints. Basically, Tai Shan had killed Old Zhou. Then, Old Zhou was forged into the Luminous Domain Mansion. Due to his resentment toward Tai Shan, Su Yu could hear his resentment after opening his grand cycle acupoints.

He could talk about anything except Tai Shan as Old Zhou would rage at the mere mention of that name.

"Is this applicable only here or the entire Luminous Domain Mansion? If this effect extends to the entire mansion..."

Su Yu inhaled deeply. Wouldn't this be a good thing? He couldn't control the Luminous Domain Mansion. But he could shout the forbidden name, Tai Shan, when he was in danger. Then, Old Zhou would go crazy. That would be enough to keep his enemies busy.

It did not matter how strong one was. Faced with the sudden anger of Old Zhou, even a super expert would be caught by surprise. Even if the resulting chaos wouldn't be enough to allow Su Yu to kill his enemies, it should be enough for him to flee.

"Tsk tsk..."

That was the extent of Su Yu's plan. He did not intend to control the Luminous Domain Mansion. He did not even consider the possibility of communicating with Old Zhou. What a joke. Old Zhou was already dead. This was merely a remnant of his resentment. Attempting to communicate with such an Old Zhou was tantamount to suicide.

Su Yu did not intend to provoke something beyond his ability to handle. Since Old Zhou was dead, he might have awakened in the Death Realm as a death spirit. Upon regaining his memories...

Su Yu did not even dare to entertain that thought. Old Zhou was truly too strong. Then again, the killer of Old Zhou was even stronger. Was the ancient past truly such a terrifying era?

Was it so scary that a mere building forged from the corpse of a dead ancient expert was enough to hold back the might of countless Invincibles? It was very likely that the Luminous Domain Mansion, or Old Zhou, to be precise, was as powerful as a proper Emperor.

A dead Emperor?

At that, Su Yu stopped his line of thought. He did not dare to think further about this matter.

After all, this was starting to feel like an internal turmoil between fellow humans. He even started suspecting that internal turmoil might be the reason for the collapse of the ancient humans.

Then again, there was also a possibility that the Luminous Domain Mansion predate the ancient past.

According to what he knew, the Luminous Domain Mansion had been treated as the center of the Myriad Realms from the very beginning of the ancient past. Even the Myriad Race Assembly was headquartered here. In that case, Old Zhou might have been killed in an earlier era.

"Perhaps...this was the result of a conflict between two Emperors?"

Su Yu sank into thought.

Perhaps the Human Emperor was not a single person. Rather, it was a tittle that had been passed down generation after generation. The last Human Emperor had snatched the position from Old Zhou before forging Old Zhou into a mansion.

If that was the case...the last Human Emperor would most definitely be an extremely ruthless person. Just killing his enemy was not enough for him. He had even forged the corpse of his enemy into a mansion.

While Su Yu was deep in thought, Xia Huyou and Huang Teng were staring at him stiffly. They were bloodied all over as they stared at Su Yu with utter shock. Finally, Xia Huyou opened his trembling mouth and asked, "Did...did...you do that?"

Su Yu smiled, "How is that possible? It was unrelated to me."

"But...I-I h-heard you shouting....t-then...t-the world ended..."

Xia Huyou was still trembling in fear.

Holy shit!

That was too terrifying.

The fury and pressure he sensed earlier felt even stronger than what his great grandfather could produce.

Since they were still deep in the ear, they were unaware that the entire first level had undergone drastic changes. Numerous towering peaks had collapsed, and numerous rivers changed course.

Numerous areas were flooded, and cracks could be seen everywhere. Those who had visited the first level before would not be able to recognize it anymore.

"It was unrelated to me."

"What were you talking about earlier?"

Xia Huyou couldn't stop his legs from shaking. He continued staring at Su Yu with doubt. Was that really unrelated to Su Yu?

Su Yu smiled and explained, "I said nothing. I was talking about Tai Shan. If you do end up taking Yellow Nine as your wife, you'll need to address my Teacher Liu as Mount Tai, right?" (Tai Shan = Mount Tai = father-in-law)

"..."

Xia Huyou was still suspicious. Was that the case?

That seemed logical. But...but...disaster had struck right after that. Even more shocking was the fact that Su Yu, who was the strongest among them, was the first to start coughing blood when the disaster struck. That did not make sense.

Why was Su Yu the first to cough blood? Because he was the first person the furious sound waves struck. He had only survived because his sea of willpower was under the Culture Tomb's protection. Otherwise, the attack would have blasted his sea of willpower apart.

He realized that he had been too adventurous there. He had merely muttered a name out of curiosity. How could he expect that someone who had been dead for so many years could still be so powerful? How did that even happen? Did Old Zhou somehow engrave his very resentment onto his body? How terrifying.

Chapter 1411: The Great Freak Is Here! (3)

Beside Xia Huyou, Huang Teng had a pale face as well. Then again, the two were actually much better off compared to many.

At the moment, a bloody figure was limping through the passage. The passage was much safer than the outside. When the fury of Old Zhou struck, many of her bones were broken. Ultimately, she had entered the passage to seek shelter against the calamity.

She was coughing blood with each step she took. When she saw the traces of blood on Su Yu's mouth, she suddenly felt like her pain and suffering had faded away. After all, even the freak had been injured by the disaster.

"Was that you?" That was the first question she asked.

Su Yu denied, "No."

That wasn't him. It was Old Zhou. Why were they asking him the same question? Why were they treating him like some sort of villain?

Sigh.

Then, he manifested his blood character to remove all traces of blood from his body. He had to keep his white robes--no, he was still a wolf. Thus, he was not wearing any white robes this time. In fact, he was quite dissatisfied with his current fashion. He swore inwardly that after recovering his identity, he would put on his white robes again.

Suddenly, his left ear twitched.

When he opened all 360 of his acupoints, the cries started resounding in his head again. He hurriedly shut one of the acupoints to shut the voice out. This was annoying. This wouldn't have happened before this. It had only started happening after the tempering of his ear.

Clearly, these cries had persisted for countless years. To hear them, one had to fulfill two requirements. Firstly, one had to open 360 acupoints. Secondly, one had to temper one's ears here. Otherwise, it was unlikely that one would be able to hear these cries.

These were by no means easy requirements to meet. Things might look safe here, but if one were to step onto the platform cluelessly, one's head would instantly burst apart. Furthermore, not everyone could temper their ears here.

After letting out a long breath, Su Yu said, "Let's go. There's nothing left here for us. Let's check the other side."

There was another ear to temper. When he was done, he would be left with only his mouth to temper. As for his belly button...there was no belly button on this level. How could one find a belly button on a face?

As for the One Hundred Openings, it was probably located near the entrance to the second level.

"So be it. I'll temper the eight acupoints first. As for the belly button, it should be somewhere else if the entire mansion was forged out of a corpse. Either that or it's hidden somewhere on this level."

While deep in thought, Su Yu led the group out of the passage. The moment they stepped outside, they blanked out. They felt as though the world had moved on while they were inside the passage.

The Ear Sea was gone. That was no big deal. When they flew into the sky, they saw that the ground had cracked and numerous mountains had collapsed. It felt as though the entire Human Realm had collapsed. Previously, the first level was a beautiful place with verdant hills and limpid water. But all that was gone in the blink of an eye. The entire first level had been reduced to rubble.

The first level was supposed to be a boundlessly vast world. From the destruction around them, it wasn't hard to imagine that the entire level had been subjected to the same fate.

Unbeknownst to Su Yu, most of the survivors were madly rushing toward the entrance to the second level. They were tired of this. None of the treasures mattered anymore. They couldn't take it anymore.

First, the Ear Sea went mad and crushed dozens of people into dust.

Then, the entire Human Face World went mad. The Blood Plain, Ear Sea, Double Dragon Gorge, and Heavenly Pit had all gone wild. More than a hundred explorers had been instantly killed.

Originally, about a thousand people had entered the first level. Half of them had climbed to the second level. Out of the five to six hundred people left on the first level, Su Yu had killed two hundred of them. Next, the sudden disaster had killed half of the remaining survivors.

The Human Face World had always been the most crowded level of the mansion each opening. But now, less than two hundred people remained. And most of them were madly fleeing to the second level.

Nobody could afford to stay here anymore.

Run!

Things should be better on the second level, right?

After all, the first level had changed massively this time. Even while they were fleeing, the survivors were swearing nonstop. They hadn't even gained much from the first level. It was only the second day, after all. Their seniors had promised them that there were countless benefits on the first level with minimal danger before this. Their seniors had claimed that here, the main danger came from the other explorers. But now, they had the urge to spit on the faces of their seniors.

What nonsense. Minimal danger? Most of the deaths so far had been caused by the natural disasters of the first level. So many were killed before they could even start fighting each other. How was this minimal danger?

Was this supposed to be a joke? According to their seniors, if they were careful around the other explorers and not too greedy, the first three levels would be easy to survive. That was absolute bullshit.

At the entrance to the second level, everyone was waiting with fear in their eyes. It didn't matter if they were humans or members of other races. Nobody was interested in fighting each other.

"Leaving is our sole option. We can't stay here anymore."

Someone said with sorrow, "My race had obtained three slots after painstaking efforts. But before we could gain anything, two of us were dead."

That was too sad. Nobody said anything. Everyone was feeling the same. Everyone had expected to spend about ten days on each of the first three levels. That would be the best usage of their time in here.

Alas, they were forced to flee the first level when it was only the second day. They couldn't imagine staying here any longer.

However, not all of them were willing to give up so easily. Someone said, "Perhaps there is still hope—"

He was interrupted by a terrified yell from afar, "It's here again! Run!"

Towering waves could be seen in the distance. This time, it was the second Ear Sea's turn to go crazy.

Countless towering waves engulfed the world. Some of the people there were still hesitating about leaving, thinking that they might get lucky. However, any shred of hesitation vanished when they saw the waves.

Stop messing around.

Getting lucky? What nonsense.

The world had gone mad.

With their own eyes, they saw several desperate individuals crushed into nothingness by the waves.

Running was the right thing to do.

Run!

Nobody thought of getting lucky anymore. Running was the only thing left to do.

***

At the same time, on the second level.

The people on the second level had been curious about the sudden tremors that had spread over the second level earlier. However, nothing major happened apart from a tiny earthquake. Thus, they did not pay the matter much thought.

But out of nowhere, hundreds of people had arrived from the first level.

Before long, news of what happened spread everywhere. Countless people had died on the first level. Seas had vanished while mountains had collapsed. Apart from the survivors who had reached the second level, everyone else had most likely died.

The few survivors who were still left on the first level were probably trembling in fear right now. Over a thousand people had entered the first level. Less than six hundred had survived long enough to reach the second level.

Somewhere on the second level. A group of people had gathered there after hearing about the events on the first level. Among them were Wu Qi and Bai Feng. With an unsightly expression, Wu Qi said, "We did not manage to find Huang Teng and Xia Huyou on the first level. If Huang Teng is dead, so be it. But Xia Huyou can't die!"

Qin Fang, who was standing not far away with his arm crossed and a spear hanging from his back, was left speechless. He said, "Huang Teng won't die so easily. He probably went looking for Xia Huyou. The Xia Family had treated him well. Unlike you, he won't run off after leaving Xia Huyou behind."

Wu Qi shot back coldly, "Don't even try to pick a fight with me. I was sent here to protect my sister, not Xia Huyou."

She was speaking the truth. Her ancestor was the one who had assigned her that mission. Thus, she had left for the second level right after locating Wu Lan. In fact, she was planning to leave for the third level soon. There, they would be able to find the riversand needed for Wu Lan's research. The Xia Family had not assigned her any mission regarding Xia Huyou.

It was likely that Huang Teng was the one assigned to protect Xia Huyou. Meanwhile, Bai Feng appeared completely disinterested in their conversation. He was staring into the distance with a deep frown.

Countless people had died on the first level.

Why was his adorable student the first person he recalled the moment he heard the news?

Had his student really entered?

But everyone had seen Su Yu in the ancient city outside the mansion. Even Bai Feng himself had been convinced that Su Yu wouldn't enter.

However, the moment he heard about what happened on the first level, he couldn't resist thinking that his adorable student was the culprit. At that thought, he sent Wu Lan a voice transmission, "Did you say that Su Yu planned to take your identity when you met him previously?"

Wu Lan replied, "Are you suspecting that he's related to the changes on the first level? Don't doubt yourself. It can only be him. Who else will do something like this? Who else will kill hundreds of people instantly? Who's savage enough to do this? In the entirety of the Myriad Realms, he is the most savage of his generation. Don't you know that?"

How odd. Why was Teacher Bai doubting that? Wu Lan couldn't understand it. Why the doubt? Teacher Bai should be certain about it.

"But...but...they said that the deaths were caused by natural disasters..."

"Why had this not happened in the past?"

"..."

Bai Feng was left speechless. How was he supposed to know that?

"Are you saying that Su Yu is here?"

"Yes."

Wu Lan said, "Let's go to the third level."

Everyone stared at her with surprise. She ignored them all. The freak was behind them. Since almost everyone on the first level was dead, he would be coming to the second level soon. He might not be aware that they were here. What if they ended up dying from one of his disasters? That would be unfortunate. This update ıs available on novelFire.net

After all, each level was incomparably vast. Was he supposed to search each level before doing anything?

Based on the situation on the first level, he was clearly attacking indiscriminately. Wu Lan had no interest in ending up as the collateral damage of Su Yu's rampage. The freak would probably stop killing indiscriminately on the third level. After all, he had been informed of their research on the third level. Thus, he would probably make an effort to search the place before going wild again, right?

With that in mind, Wu Lan started urging everyone to leave. As for Xia Huyou and Huang Teng, there was nothing to worry about. Perhaps they were living the life following behind Su Yu.

Wu Lan knew full well that Su Yu and Xia Huyou were fellow villains who had committed countless bad deeds together in Great Xia. They were very close.

Still confused, Bai Feng sent her another voice transmission, "But you saw Su Yu in the ancient city as well..."

Once again, Wu Lan glanced at Bai Feng with confusion. Why was he not understanding this? She replied, "Is an impostor so hard to find? It's not like anyone can enter the city to investigate the impostor."

"What joke is that? Who's capable of impersonating someone like h--"

Suddenly, Bai Feng's face turned stiff.

Who?

Bai Feng knew someone as fearless, shameless, and infuriating as Su Yu.

"Liu Hong."

The look in Bai Feng's eyes changed. Right! That bastard! Back then, Su Yu had visited the Liu City disguised as Liu Hong. Bai Feng had completely forgotten to ask Su Yu about Liu Hong. There must be a reason for Su Yu to suddenly use that disguise.

Clearly, Liu Hong would not appear anywhere else when he was using that identity. Understanding dawned on Bai Feng. Holy shit! The Su Yu in the ancient city was Liu Hong! Su Yu had really entered the mansion! He had entered right before the eyes of so many Invincibles!

No wonder the first level had turned into a slaughterhouse. Finally, Bai Feng was no longer confused. In fact, he started joining Wu Lan in urging the rest to leave, "Let's go to the third level!"

His crazy student would be here soon. That crazy student might not bother to search the place before starting his indiscriminate slaughter. The third level would be safer since his crazy student was already aware that they would be there.

And thus, Bai Feng and Wu Lan worked together and started looking for the entrance to the third level without wasting any time. Both of them were well aware that a freak was coming.

***

At the same time. The first level.

After tempering his right ear, he sighed. Nobody. He had finally discovered that nobody was left on the first level. His Mark of Civilization hungered for more nourishment. Alas, he had not stumbled upon anyone after tempering his ears. Sigh. Did they all flee to the second level?

Were they dumb? He was almost done exploring the first level. He would leave after that. Wouldn't that make the second level a more dangerous place for them?

"Sigh."

He started lamenting their stupidity, "The people here are too stupid. They only need to hide away and I'll leave. I won't come back just to kill them. But instead, they had all fled to the second level. Isn't that the same as buying a ticket to enter my book?"

Fine. Fine. He would climb the mansion one level at a time.

Chapter 1412: He Tu And Dummy (1)

While everyone on the first level was fleeing to the second level madly.

Su Yu was still moving leisurely. He was not worried that the treasures on the level would all be harvested by these fleeing people. Some of the treasures in the mansion were not things just anyone could harvest.

After all, the Luminous Domain Mansion had been around for countless years. If these treasures could be harvested so easily, they would have been harvested long ago. Some treasures could only be harvested by the fated ones or the smart ones.

Su Yu was confident he was the smart one. Or to be precise, he was the fated one. After all, he believed that one had to open at least 360 acupoints to become the fated one, right? As far as he was concerned, one would be nothing here without opening the grand cycle acupoints.

The Luminous Domain Mansion belonged to the Human Emperor. The builder was most definitely a human. Thus, some of the treasures here were only available for humans. This was yet another legacy from their ancestors. The other races would not be able to steal these treasures from the humans. The humans only needed to have the ability to harvest these treasures.

Heavenly Pit.

This was an incomparably large pit with a cliff rising from outside of the pit. Previously, it wasn't too obvious. But after the recent disaster and the change of landscape, it became obvious.

The cliff was a tongue. The massive pit was an open mouth. The surrounding mountain ranges were the lips. The massive terraces lining the cliffs were the teeth.

Prior to this, the mouth was covered in soil and many other things, making it look like a large hole. But now, even Xia Huyou could see that it was a mouth. An incomparably massive mouth.

Up in the air, Xia Huyou shivered as he said, "This looks creepy. Su Yu...is this someone alive? How can a mouth grow so big?"

Beside him, Yellow Nine was frowning as well. Suddenly, she said, "Don't float right above the Heavenly Pit. At times, powerful air currents will shoot out before dragging those above inside. Nobody has ever left the pit alive after being dragged in."

"Were they eaten?" Xia Huyou asked, "Why does the Luminous Domain Mansion feel more and more creepy? Is this Human Face World really a human head? It looks more and more like it. I didn't feel like this previously, but now, it really resembles a human face too much."

Everyone knew that this place was called the Human Face World. But previously, the first level did not look too much like a human face. There were only some similarities. But with all the soil shaken off by the recent disaster, the Human Face World, one could finally notice the terrifying similarities between this place and a human face.

Su Yu smiled, "Isn't this obviously a human face? A head that has been chopped off..."

After a short pause, Su Yu continued, "Or not. Perhaps the head was forcefully bent in an unnatural manner, with the head at the bottom and the rest of the body above. Maybe the entire Luminous Domain Mansion is a human body."

With the head bent and the body arranged in an L shape, the face would face upward even when the head was at the bottom. That was possible, right? Su Yu could not discount this possibility. If that were the case, would the second level be the neck? Or perhaps the neck included the third level?

"Stop! The more you say, the scarier this feels."

Xia Huyou looked embarrassed as he said that. After listening to Su Yu's speculations, even his hair was standing on end. However, there were nine levels in the Luminous Domain Mansion. Together, the mansion was larger than even the Human Realm. How was this a body?

Furthermore, the legends claimed that this was the residence of the ancient Human Emperor and the headquarters of the Myriad Race Assembly. If this was really a body, the Human Emperor, who was supposed to be a saintly ruler, would look a lot more barbaric. Why would he reside inside a human corpse if he wasn't barbaric? This was not something humanity had ever imagined.

Many humans believed that the ancient Human Emperor was a benevolent and kind ruler. But if one were realistic enough, one would realize that such a ruler would not be able to conquer the Myriad Realms. That was simply not a feat that could be accomplished without slaughter. Su Yu ignored the others and looked into the dark pit below him. It did look somewhat scary.

"If my guess is right and the whole body is being arranged in an L shape, I can enter the mouth and reach the higher levels through the throat, right?"

Su Yu considered that possibility, but he soon set the thought aside. Then, he landed on one of the terraces hanging from the cliff. Or to be precise, it was the tooth of the mouth.

Su Yu sank into thought, wondering if the teeth here were stronger than even carrier treasures. After all, even the nasal hair of this face could be used as carrier treasures. And the teeth were supposed to be the strongest part of the human body. For example, Su Yu could probably bite Mountainseas to death even if he had never tempered his teeth before. The teeth of a supreme expert like Old Zhou would most definitely be impressively powerful.

Su Yu stomped on the ground, but the tooth remained completely still. Only some dust rose from the ground due to the impact. Xia Huyou and the others landed beside him.

Looking at the unreasonably big teeth, Huang Teng crouched down and sent his source qi into the ground before inhaling in shock, "It's unimaginably durable. If this is really a tooth...or an imitation tooth, it will be incomparably powerful if you can pluck it off."

Su Yu laughed, "Stop dreaming. Plucking it off? If even a nasal hair is so hard to pluck, imagine the difficulty of plucking a tooth. If you're so free, you're better off looking for the scalp. Maybe there are countless hairs there. A single strand of hair is strong enough to act as a carrier treasure. There, hundreds of thousands of carrier treasures are waiting for you."

"..."

They all blanked out upon hearing that. Then, Xia Huyou swallowed and said, "A-are you serious?"

Su Yu looked around and said nonchalantly, "How am I not serious? Of course, there is no guarantee that every single strand of hair is as strong. But you can probably find a hundred or so from an entire head of hair, right? After all, the Luminous Domain Mansion has been around for so many years. But then, nobody has ever spoken of a land of dense woods in the mansion, right?"

Su Yu was certain the hair would be quite long. But nobody had ever seen the hair of Old Zhou. Or perhaps the entire scalp of Old Zhou had been removed? Su Yu wasn't too concerned about it. He would try to look around later, but he wouldn't fret even if he couldn't find it.

Above the brow was the forehead. And above the forehead, one should reach the scalp. Unfortunately, when Su Yu was there, he saw no scalp. He only saw the edge of this world.

Before long, Su Yu entered the Heavenly Pit with the others following behind him.

At the same time.

Inside a dark and massive world.

Numerous towering pillars dotted the landscape of this world.

Somewhere in the dark world, He Tu was slapping his new friend's head as he berated, "Where is this? Where did you take me? This isn't the Death Realm anymore!"

Where was this? This was a bizarre place. He Tu was taking this very seriously. For some reason, he felt uneasy here. Those thick pillars were everywhere. Even as strong as him, he could hardly damage these pillars. More importantly, these pillars seemed to be alive.

Just as he was scolding his new friend, a nearby pillar swept toward him.

"Are you trying to bully me?"

Furious, He Tu sent a palm attack filled with death qi toward the pillar, slapping it away from him. His new friend wasn't slow either. Just as another pillar swept toward them, He Tu's friend sent the pillar flying with a punch.

He Tu did not choose to stay and continue fighting the pillars. Instead, he shouted at his friend, "Time to go, you fool! You will be the death of me, I swear!"

He was feeling very gloomy. How could the great He Tu be led astray by a dumb death spirit? Just where was this? Why were there so many pillars here? Every one of these pillars was aggressive and powerful. Even He Tu was finding these pillars hard to damage. The scariest part was the sheer number of these pillars around them.

He Tu had a feeling that any random pillar here could be used as an earth weapon or even a heaven weapon. And such powerful pillars were everywhere. How terrifying.

He Tu wasn't too interested in these pillars. Even the pillars strong enough to act as carrier treasures were not too important to him. After all, he had no use for carrier treasures. As one of the dead, he had no past and future. He did not require carrier treasures to bear his tri-life bodies.

He Tu's sole desire was to leave this bizarre place. What would he do if someone were to steal his territory while he was away?

For death spirits, nothing was more important than the Celestial River of Death. Very few treasures could attract the attention of death spirits. And He Tu's territory included a relatively large and safe part of the Celestial River of Death.

If he did not return, some other death spirits might steal his territory, thinking that he was dead. That would be troublesome. Sure, he could always take it back upon returning, but the battle might end up damaging the territory itself.

While avoiding the aggressive pillars, he studied the death spirit beside him. Finally, he asked helplessly, "Do you know the way out?"

Damn this fellow! Just who was this guy when he was alive? This guy was actually quite strong. However, why had this guy entered the unknown tunnel out of nowhere? As a result, both of them had been transported to this mysterious place. He Tu might not have all his memories, but he was still a knowledgeable individual. However, he had zero idea what this place was.

Thus, he was certain this wasn't a place he had been to when he was alive. Did such a place really exist in the Myriad Realms? He Tu was feeling very doubtful. Just what was this place? How did he not know of this place before his death?

The dumb death spirit said nothing. As he had just awakened, his memories would take some time to return. Or to be precise, these memories required a long time to return. For some, it might take thousands or tens of thousands of years.

Seeing that the dumb death spirit was saying nothing, He Tu slapped the dumb death spirit's head again and chided, "Look at you! Where did you take us? Damn it! Because of you, that old bastard is probably living a comfortable life now. Nobody is there to attack him anymore!"

He was furious. The old turtle was probably enjoying this. Without him around, the old turtle could probably leave the city freely without much issue.

After a while, the dumb death spirit finally shook his head. Perhaps he was not used to having his head slapped around. After following He Tu around for a bit, he said, "Up...we...should be able...to go...up..."

Up?

He Tu looked at the towering pillars hanging above them and shivered. How was it so simple to go up? There were so many pillars around them it felt as though they were middle of a formation. Even He Tu found these pillars troublesome to deal with.

Was the way out really up there? After a short thought, He Tu decided to trust his dumb friend one more time. If he couldn't leave, he would absorb his friend to strengthen himself.

And thus, the two death spirits started soaring into the air. Countless pillars attacked them, but the two persisted. Before long, they reached the top of the space.

With a slap, He Tu sent hundreds of pillars flying. Then, he looked down while gasping for breath. The moment he looked down, he exclaimed, "Why does this place look like someone's hair?"

Yes. Hair.

Or to be precise, someone's long hair that was flowing downward.

He Tu continued moving while swearing. Eventually, he went through yet another forest of pillars. There, he saw a dot of light.

He was overjoyed. Was he finally leaving? But where was this exactly? Was this the Myriad Realms? Did this mean that apart from the death tunnels, there was a different way out of the Death Realm?

If that was the case...why should he continue wasting his time fighting the old turtle? He could simply leave through this route. Sure, this was a dangerous route. Regular death sovereigns might die here. But it was still an alternative.

Fortunately, his dumb friend was quite strong. Together, the two were able to safely go through the forest of pillars.
