Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: The Fanboy Gets his Reward

"No way! I got Virat Kohli? The best batsman ever? The goddess of luck is supporting me. I wonder what kind of skills I will get from these. I can't wait to use these in a actual match! Oh wait.. the house team selection isn't for another month…" Ali sighed.

Before Ali could check the skills, the bus had reached the school and Manish was asking him get off the seat so that he could go to his remedial classes. Ali was actually supposed to join him but decided not to as he wanted to see the skills he got from the player aura and moment.

"System, show me Virat Kohli's skills"

[Quest]

First Showing

Score 15 runs and win the match.

Reward: +1 Batting, 10 Legend Points (LP)

"Alright, I've been wanting to try my abilities out anyway. Granted, there's still 30 minutes before school starts, but whatever. System, do you have anything called auto equip?"

[Auto equip activated]

"Alright, I feel much clearer. Let's do this."

Out of the 6 people in his team, he knew the captain Shrivastav, Manish and Suhail, all of whom used to play for the school team.

In the other team was Anirudh and Samuel.

The match started with his team fielding. Samuel and Anirudh opened the batting and easily hit the bowler for 11 runs.

[Over by over analysis activated.]

[Over 1 of 3 | Anirudh 5* Samuel 6* | 11/0 | Best Plan: Switch to a different type of bowling attack]

Ali called Shrivatstav over and told that he would bowl the next over. Shrivastav agreed before telling,"It's your call, send them off before this match is done and dusted."

"System, switch player aura to Karn Sharma."

[Player Aura and moments cannot be switched in between of a match.]

"Of course a system has to have this type of nerf…good thing the auto equip has already equipped those two moments.."

Ali was talking about the Afghanistan win and Watson wicket moments, both of which were bowling oriented. Anirudh was on strike and taunted,"You aren't too good at bowling, why are you even trying?" These types of jabs should have been the first sign of Ali cutting off Anirudh, but he didn't. Ali ran down the field with a calm run up, throwing a leg spinner that sped towards the wicket, Anirudh stumbled and fell down, as the ball careened into the wicket. "Ali one, Anirudh zero." stated Ali, calmly returning Anirudh's jab. Anirudh glared at him, surprised that Ali actually returned his jab.

The next batter, Zayed entered the small pitch, ready to defend his wicket. Ali dropped a slower top spin which Salim tried to defend with a straight drive, but the ball lofted a bit upward, leading to an easy catch for Suhail in the deep.

After this came a visibly nervous Raj who also tried to stop the loss of his wicket but was unable to prevent his bat from blocking Ali's leg spinner ball that smashed into the wicket again.

Mohit was the third batter and he decided that he should not try too hard and merely blocked Ali's next ball for a dot and then sent the next one in a gap for a single.

Finally came Samuel, who was smarter than the rest and saw the spin, sweeping the ball for 3 runs.

After this, Shrivastav bowled the final over, in which Ali took Mohit's wicket by catching his lofted ball, ending the 1st innings with a target of 21.

Ali and Manish then opened the innings, with Anirudh bowling the first over. "If only I had all the skills unlocked, then I could have made him more miserable." Ali thought to himself.

Suddenly a notification popped up.

[Quest]

Sending a message

Win the game in Anirudh's over

Reward: [Title] A Jab Won't Be Enough to Stop Me

"Well that solidifies my plan even more.."

Ball 1, Anirudh threw an inswinger, thinking Ali would not notice. However, due to Ali's past experience and the help of the system, Ali saw through it and moved forward, activating his active skill and playing the perfect cover drive, which Samuel at mid-wicket tried to stop, but it rushed through his hands and went for a four.

Ball 2, After seeing Ali smash the inswinger for a four, Anirudh in anger ran forward and threw a Yorker with his full strength while saying,"I hope you can stop this from hitting the wicket.." Unfortunately for him, he had missed his length, leading to a full toss which Ali calmly swished over Anirudh's head for a six. Ali then returned Anirudh's second jab with,"And I hope you can stop this from going over your head.." The small field they had set up erupted with people screaming about Anirudh getting roasted, which cringed Ali a lot.

Ball 3, Anirudh calmed himself, "You can't let him get to your head, he's just playing with you.. this is just a fun game.." Anirudh took his usual stance, and ran forward, once again throwing an inswinger. This time Ali defended it and took a single.

After this, Manish hit Anirudh for a four again and then took a single after seeing Ali begging him to let him play again.

"Alright. I must hit a six so that both missions are fulfilled… No worries, I can do it. I'm not facing Anirudh after the training camp, it's the Anirudh before that."

This time Anirudh threw a bouncer, seeking to catch Ali off guard. But Ali read it, and calmly placed his bat in a position that caused the ball to ricochet away for another six, before it hit the window of the headmaster's office, leading to Mr Sahwit, the vice principal coming out of his office to the playground screaming, "Who did this? Come out and show me your hand, there is 5 hand lashings ready for you."

Ali remembered Mr Sahwit. He was the vice principal. A very rude and partial man (if he could even be called that) who called students out for no reason other than if he didn't like them. While he was remembering this, Ali heard 2 dings, signifying that the 2 missions were completed.
