Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 — Sharing a Room

Yasu's heart raced.

Hinata Hyuga—the eldest daughter of the Hyuga clan—was introverted, yes, but undeniably a white-rich-beauty (rich, beautiful, and of noble lineage).

Marrying her would save decades of struggle, and who knows? With the right moves, maybe even one day becoming the head of the Hyuga clan.

But Yasu only thought for a moment before shaking his head slightly.

For Konoha, the coming days would hardly be peaceful:

The Konoha Crush Plan during the Chunin Exams, the Akatsuki's plan for global genjutsu (Eye of the Moon Plan), and the final Fourth Shinobi World War.

Each event was extremely dangerous.

If he married into the Hyuga family, he'd inevitably become a Gentle Fist instructor for the clan. It would be far harder to go out, increase favorability, and level up his social influence.

Moreover, some people might intentionally keep their distance due to his Hyuga affiliation, capping his favorability.

Without raising favorability, improving his strength would be even more difficult.

As for the second option, Yasu could accept it.

After all, he needed to raise the favorability of neji, hinata, and hiashi anyway. Teaching them would be a perfect opportunity.

And now there was one more student: Hanabi Hyuga.

Though younger than Hinata by a few years, Hanabi's abilities were comparable.

In fact, during a previous match, Hinata had lost to her younger sister.

Most importantly, Hanabi also had the Byakugan.

By steadily raising favorability, Yasu could eventually unlock her Byakugan as well.

With four Byakugan combined, who knows? Perhaps they could even awaken the legendary Rinnegan!

At that point, forget Konoha—the entire world would tremble.

"I choose the second option!"

Hearing Yasu's answer, Hiashi Hyuga furrowed his brows, then quickly continued:

"Don't tell me you think Hinata isn't good enough for you? If you choose the first option, I can get you a pair of Byakugan!"

Yasu shook his head with a wry smile.

"I feel that feelings should develop gradually, not be decided here on the spot, sealing Hinata's future. That would be irresponsible for both of us."

[Ding dong! Hiashi Hyuga favorability +3! Current favorability: 74!]

Hiashi nodded, satisfaction shining in his eyes as he looked at Yasu.

"Good. From now on, if you have anything, the Hyuga family will back you up!" Hiashi said, lightly clapping his hands. "Take Yasu to his room to rest."

Yasu wound through the corridors until he reached a room.

The candlelight was already lit, and someone was clearly inside.

Without much thought, Yasu opened the door.

A young woman slowly turned around. Upon seeing Yasu, she jumped in fright and dove under the covers.

"Yasu-kun! Why are you in my room?"

Yasu's lips twitched. He had come with polite intentions…

"Are you sure you're in the right room?"

"Yes, Lord Hiashi assigned this room."

"Can we… change rooms?"

The servant smiled faintly, glancing toward the courtyard.

"All the rooms in the Hyuga estate are occupied. You'll have to make do for one night. If you have a problem with that, take it up with Lord Hiashi yourself."

With that, the servant vanished in a flash of ninjutsu.

Yasu's lips twitched again.

In such a huge estate, surely there was at least one empty room?

Clearly, Hiashi was just "selling" his daughter for the night, this guy, scary how affection points change people easily. A moment ago he was trying to kill me, and now he is trying to fix me with his kid.

And going to find Hiashi himself? Forget it—the corridors alone were a maze.

Just as Yasu was hesitating, he felt a tug on his sleeve.

He turned quickly.

Hinata Hyuga had somehow slipped out from under her covers, her face bright red. One hand was holding onto his sleeve.

"Yasu-kun… if it's really impossible, then you can just sleep here…"

Hinata's face flushed even more, and she dove back under the covers, only leaving her head peeking out to secretly watch Yasu.

Yasu smiled wryly, too scary, this system clearly violates rights of humans.

But since there was no other choice, he'd sleep here just for tonight.

Fortunately, Hiashi hadn't completely sold out his daughter.

Next to Hinata's bedding, another set of blankets had been laid out.

At least Yasu could reluctantly accept that.

He reluctantly nodded and slid under the covers. A soft breeze blew past, extinguishing the candlelight.

In the pitch-black room, all he could hear was Hinata's heartbeat, pounding like a drum, and her heavy breathing.

Yasu smiled helplessly.

It seemed that after raising Hinata's favorability, her attitude toward him had completely surpassed even Naruto Uzumaki.

So different people can have different feelings even if they have the same affection points.

This is bad, with Hinata's determined personality, she would surely become a clingy shadow in the future.

Just as Yasu was about to close his eyes, a tiny, mosquito-like voice spoke.

"Y-Yasu-kun… today… why did you do that to me?"

Yasu knew immediately—Hinata had understood his intentions.

Otherwise, her favorability wouldn't have risen so sharply.

But with her shy, insecure personality, if he didn't speak, she would continue overthinking.

"Remember earlier today?" he asked.

"I… I remember. Yasu-kun said you wanted my father to acknowledge me."

Her voice was still quiet like a mosquito, yet Yasu detected a spark of excitement in it.

[Ding dong! Hinata Hyuga favorability +5! Current favorability: 81! Favorability check-in available!]

Yasu's eyes lit up. Just a few simple words had raised so much favorability.

Moreover, Hinata was the first female ninja whose favorability had surpassed 80.

"Sign-in: Hinata Hyuga!"

[Ding! Hinata Hyuga sign-in successful! You've obtanied Eight Trigrams, Sixty-Four Palms! Favorability +3! Current favorability: 84 points!]

Yasu's heart soared.

The Eight Trigrams, Sixty-Four Palms was undoubtedly one of the most brutal Gentle Fist techniques.

Once the first strike landed, the rest were inescapable.

Moreover, the technique had a chakra-sealing function. Even if the target survived, they would lose control of their chakra, rendering them combat-ineffective.

Yasu didn't yet have the Byakugan, so he wasn't sure if the chakra-sealing effect would work.

"Then… Yasu-kun, why did you help me, when we've just met?"

Yasu smiled faintly.

Technically, it was their first meeting in person—but he had already seen Hinata countless times on TV.

As for why? Of course, to use you as a unlimited power bank, but he couldn't say that outloud.

When Neji Hyuga had asked the same question before, Yasu couldn't answer it then either.

"Look at the time. Sleep now!"

Yasu closed his eyes, but the drumming heartbeat and heavy breathing beside him didn't lessen—they seemed even louder.

"Looks like I won't be sleeping tonight."
