Chapter 18 - Open your mouth obediently

He's long gone. A person who has left can never hurt anyone again. Chu Suosuo's finger was made by someone else. As for who that person is and why he did such a thing... I really don't know. Su Hua's voice was as quiet as snow that had fallen into the wind, yet on her eyelashes, a layer of tears was quietly smeared.

Gu Beixian lowered his eyes and looked at the ordinary little grave beneath his feet.

The mound of earth has been around for quite some time. In front of it stands a bunch of withering wildflowers, and beside it are the ashes of burned paper. The entire grave didn't even have a decent tombstone. It was as simple as it could be, and it was impossible to tell who was buried.

His lips twitched slightly. When I asked her who "A Yao" was before, she avoided answering. Later, the surveillance footage showed a back view, and she casually pointed at a mound to fob him off.

Little did she know that ever since she called out "Brother A Yao" for the first time in her dream, he had secretly searched the entire village.

There were ninety-eight households, not a single one left out. Everyone spoke in unison - there was no such person in the village at all.

So the person buried in this grave could never be A Yao.

Gu Beixian raised his hand and held Su Hua's hand.

She wanted to pull, but she didn't.

Shen Huai's gaze fell on their clasped hands, and his eyes dimmed slightly.

Mrs. Liu looked at Gu Beixian, feeling both nervous and scared. "Mr. Gu, my phone ran out of battery yesterday and I didn't receive your call."

"It's okay." He said indifferently, "Let's have a meal first."

Several people took their seats.

Gu Beixian peeled an egg and pushed it in front of Su Hua, saying, "Eat."

Su Hua, however, pushed it back: "You eat first. You've been busy all day - you must be hungry." "

Shen Huai smiled half-heartedly, "You two Cousins have a really good relationship."

Gu Beixian's eyes paused for a moment, and his tone was about to fall

"Cousin, he's my distant cousin." Su Hua cut him off first, "I'm a poor relative from his countryside. When I was young and naive, I helped out at his place for three years, taking care of his daily life."

Shen Huai regretted, "You have such good skills, but you ended up being a nanny. What a pity!"

Su Hua gave Gu Beixian a faint look and said, "Fortunately, his family offers a high salary." "

Hardly had she finished speaking when she felt as if she had been bumped under the table.

The movement was not forceful, but it made her freeze for a moment, and her ear tips quietly turned red.

She turned her head to look at him, her eyes indicating that he should be more restrained.

Gu Beixian's expression, however, couldn't be more dignified. His movements while drinking porridge were very proper and orderly, showing no sign of anything unusual.

She tried to brush away that restless touch, but was seized by him, his fingers clasped together, his movements quiet yet hard to ignore.

One hand was injured and the other was tied up. She couldn't eat and could only sit there.

He turned his head to look at her and asked, "Hua Hua, why don't you eat?" "

Those who usually call "Su Hua" do so particularly naturally at this moment.

Su Hua glared at him, with a hint of uncontrollable shame and annoyance.

Gu Beixian chuckled softly, "You're not eating. Are you waiting for me to feed you?"

He scooped up a spoonful of porridge, gently tested its temperature with his lips, and held it up to her, saying, "Open your mouth."

The tone was a bit teasing, but it didn't go too far.

Su Hua's face turned red all of a sudden and she refused to open her mouth no matter what.

He gave a low chuckle and, taking advantage of her inattention, delivered the porridge over.

We used to eat together often, but you never picked things up like this. There are outsiders around today, so you start to be particular?"

Su Hua was so blocked that she couldn't speak and could only swallow slowly.

Shen Huai shook his head: "Your cousin is really..." It's quite special to you."

Gu Beixian held Su Hua's hand, gently rubbed it, and his tone was neither too salty nor too bland: "Of course." My cousin, of course, needs to be taken care of."

Aunt Liu's face was almost buried in the bowl: This pair of "Cousins"... It's a bit too intimate.

After finally finishing the meal, Aunt Liu went to tidy up.

Su Hua said indifferently, "You have a lot of work to do. Go back first after you finish eating."

Gu Beixian looked at her, his gaze so gentle that it could almost melt the frost and snow: "Come with me." The conditions here are not good. If I don't see you for a day, I won't feel at ease.

Su Hua's ears went numb and she regretted having this "cousin" hairstyle.

She raised her hand to look at her wound and said, "I haven't been able to do anything for three months. It's fine to recuperate here."

"All right." He smiled faintly, "I'll come to see you again tonight."

Those words were bitten rather hard by him in a casual tone.

Su Hua hurriedly said, "No need!" It's too far. It's taking up your rest.

Gu Beixian raised his hand, gently and somewhat helplessly tapping her nose tip: "How did you become so stubborn?" "

She turned her head away and gently reminded, "Please don't touch me casually."

"Why can't my cousin and my cousin get closer?" " He raised his hand and gently touched the side of her face, his movement gentle but with a hint of vague emotion.

He was usually composed and restrained, but at this moment, there was an inexplicable sense of closeness.

Su Hua was so confused that she subconsciously took a step back.

Shen Huai's expression completely darkened and he got up and left.

Su Hua also stood up and turned around to walk into the room.

Gu Beixian followed in.

The room is quiet. He reached out and encircled her from behind, his movements unhurried. He gently turned her around, his fingertips supporting her chin as if to make her look up at him.

At that moment, he had intended to ask A Yao for clarification and even wanted to expose her lie on the spot.

But seeing the tears in her eyes, she couldn't say anything.

The wind blew in through the crack of the window. She stood so thin and stubborn, as if a gust of wind could blow her away.

All his anger dissipated.

Gu Beixian withdrew his hand, pulled her into his arms and lowered his voice: "Forget it. I won't ask anymore." Don't cry."

Su Hua leaned against him, her shoulders trembling slightly.

He patted her back gently, his tone so tender that it was almost doting: "If you want to leave next time, let me know in advance." "Ok?" "

She gave a soft "mm" sound.

Suddenly, a very uncooperative sound came from my stomach.

Su Hua was stunned for a moment and looked up, "Are you hungry?"

"From noon yesterday until now, I haven't eaten a bite." " There was a hint of subtle grievance in his tone.

"Why not eat?" "

"You're gone. How could I have the heart to eat?" "

Su Hua's chest ached.

A short sentence is more likely to waver than any promise.

She said softly, "Go back and have something to eat." Aunt Liu should be ready with the meal."

"Ok." "

The two walked side by side towards the village.

When Shen Huai got home, he was setting the table while Mrs. Liu came out of the kitchen with a bowl in her hand
