Michael's POV
Damn it to hell.
I shot to my feet the moment I saw her. "How did you get past security?"
She started to answer, but I cut her off with a sharp gesture and slammed my finger on the intercom button. Rosalind was about to get an earful.
Embers surged through my bloodstream.
Snow stepped closer, raising her hands in that familiar placating gesture she'd perfected years ago when she wanted to manipulate a situation.
"Michael, please don't be angry with your assistant," she said smoothly. "This isn't her fault. I may have told her I was still your wife and wanted to surprise you. She was flustered, but I was very persuasive."
My teeth ground together. "What the hell possessed you to lie like that? You know perfectly well we've been divorced for years. We don't communicate, we don't have any relationship whatsoever. The only connection between us is a son who's already an adult."
