Allyson's POV

The morning sun streamed through our suite windows as I stood on the balcony, wrapped in a plush white robe. My coffee steamed in the cool mountain air while I gazed down at the Aura Resort spread out below like a postcard. From this height, everything looked miniature and perfect - the crystalline pool reflecting the sky, manicured gardens stretching toward the mountains, guests moving like tiny figures through paradise.

Our penthouse suite offered the kind of view people saved years to experience. I had hours before the afternoon meeting with Michael and Orton, and the thought of sitting alone with my racing thoughts felt suffocating. The pool area looked nearly deserted, just a few guests lounging with their phones, the water gleaming like liquid sapphire in the sunlight.

A swim might be exactly what I needed to stop replaying last night's drama with Michael.
