Michael's POV
Michael moved closer, his fingers reaching for Allyson's hand. She hesitated for a heartbeat, then allowed him to take it. Her skin felt fragile beneath his touch, as though one wrong move might shatter her completely.
He gazed into her eyes, his voice barely above a whisper. "I could never have enough of you." The words escaped him raw and unguarded, hoping she would understand his sincerity.
"You have no idea what you do to me. I don't think I could ever stop wanting you."
She jerked her hand away, fury blazing in her eyes as she spun around. "I'm finished with your games, Michael," she snapped.
"The teasing, the manipulation, using intimacy like some kind of weapon to bend me to your will. But you never give anything back."
Her accusations cut through him like a blade. He knew she was right. He had nothing substantial to offer her. Still, he couldn't bring himself to let her walk away.
