Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Warm Daily Life

But Self has never obtained a Vision. Perhaps Self is not meant to be noticed by the gods?

That's quite normal, though.

On the first day of business, many flowers were prepared, though most of them didn't sell in the end. These beautiful and moving flowers are rarely put to use nowadays.

Compared to flowers, more people choose to drink alcohol, so business on the first day was very poor. The rent for the shop wasn't expensive, but on the first day, Self couldn't even afford the rent... Apart from a little girl who wanted to give her mother a bouquet of flowers as a birthday gift, there was no other business... After much thought for the birthday gift, Self finally decided to use dudou lotus paired with small lamp grass. With this special combination, two seemingly incompatible flowers could come together. In the end, this bouquet sold for 1500 Mora, a very cheap price, and the little girl left very happy.

To prevent the dream from failing halfway, Self began to ponder anew what flowers could be used for.

Self recalled the event about concocting potions. So, could Self cultivate some special materials to make such potions? This is a type of Alchemy, isn't it? Self wondered if Self had any Talents for it... The first potion Self tried was a stamina potion, the most basic kind. Self used a lot of sweet flowers, and it turned out that the potion was no different from trash. Perhaps Self just wasn't suited for it?

Self had no choice but to focus more on the flower shop, redesigning slogans and posters, but nothing worked.

Until, by chance, a drunkard, after getting drunk, bought a bouquet of flowers to avoid being scolded. His Lover truly wasn't angry; instead, she gave him a kiss.

Because of this incident, Self actually gained a bit of fame. Some people said, if you anger your Lover by drinking too much, go buy a bouquet of flowers.

All in all, Self's business still relied on those drunkards... However, many girls in Mondstadt really liked this flower shop owner, who always smiled gently and also sold flower seeds. Flower seeds would grow and sprout again, taking on different appearances. Every bouquet of flowers was unique. In fact, many people now enjoy growing flowers, but they often can't keep them alive.

The best-selling item in the flower shop turned out to be flower seeds... It's quite amusing... But don't flowers embody the most beautiful and sincere emotions? Flower seeds also carry the feeling of hope and beauty about to arrive, so they bring joy and happiness just the same... Currently, most books are managed by nobles. Although knowledge is shared with commoners periodically, truly profound and difficult knowledge is somewhat hoarded. Nevertheless, some books are still available for purchase, so Eldana bought quite a few. Different books combined create something beautiful and heartwarming.

Self really enjoys reading and the feeling of reading books. Aside from the more difficult Alchemy, Self has read literary works countless times. Most literary works now are poetry collections, perhaps because Mondstadt is the Kingdom of poetry and wine?

When Self first got the books, Self was completely clueless. Although there was Teyvat Common Tongue, many authors still chose to use their own national languages. So, even though there were foreign books, it was like learning another foreign language. However, due to Self's inherent setting, Self is exceptionally intelligent! Self's memory is naturally not bad either; it's a bit short of photographic memory, but Self can recall things with careful thought.

First, Self learned the language of the most common country. The current language, according to the game's timeline, should belong to ancient grammar. Although it doesn't differ much from the present, if one wants to read it seriously, one must learn it again.

Self has read many beautiful poetry collections, and is also working very hard on flower care. The best-selling cecilia is the only one that cannot be artificially cultivated... It takes a lot of effort to care for this beautiful and moving flower.

Self tried changing the soil to highland soil, increasing the fertilizer and water content in the soil.

Self even tried singing ballads with an off-key voice... It just seemed to wither faster.

If you're tone-deaf, don't sing; it will only make already beautiful flowers wilt.

By the way, the room Self currently rents is two stories high. Although it's two stories, it comes with an attic and a small garden. The first floor can be used as a shop, the second floor is for cultivating the next generation of flowers, and the third floor is for living.

It's not that Self wants to live high up; it's just that the second floor has a larger space, which is more suitable for cultivating flowers, and the temperature is very suitable, neither too cold nor too hot.

It's fine for Self to make do; putting in more effort for a dream is very worthwhile.

On the third floor, many powdery substances are stored in different jars. These transparent glass bottles contain powders of different colors, which are powders of different flowers.

dudou lotus can basically be used as MSG; it can enhance freshness very well. Different flowers, of course, have different uses. The scent of windmill flower is gentle, making it very suitable for making soothing medicines, and because of the symbolism of the windmill flower, it is more readily accepted by people.

Although it's hard to understand, due to a collecting habit, Self almost dried all unsold flowers and ground them into powder. Different flowers have different uses, and these powders have never been sold externally.

The most beautiful cecilia, the most difficult cecilia to cultivate, when will it bloom beautifully? When will Self no longer have to climb high cliffs?

The shop closes promptly at 5 PM every day. Self needs to go up the high cliff to collect fresh flowers. Not many flowers are picked; only five cecilia are sold each day. The seeds produced by the flowers are replanted at high altitudes, as only there can cecilia grow.

Life now isn't much different from the original world. The only change is that Self is more satisfied with Self. Self's cooking skills have also gradually improved. After more than half a year passed in a daze, the money saved is still less than when Self worked as a waiter, although some extra expenses are the main reason.

But it's several times more tiring than when Self was a waiter.

Now Self has to economize every day, saving money for rent and nurturing flower seeds. Those beautiful fresh flowers should not gradually wither away.

So a risky method emerged: taking the unsold flowers to the snow mountain... In fact, it was still to find that ice flower that would never wither... A flower that never withers, how beautiful... This action was too crazy for Self, after all, entering the snow mountain with Self's own body is too difficult without a Vision, and Self's highest combat record before was a draw with a Hilichurl... (Although Self hadn't learned true swordsmanship back then, fortunately, the Hilichurl wasn't serious either.)

In fact, before coming to this world, Self had learned a bit of rudimentary swordsmanship, just as a small hobby, not particularly seriously. After coming to this world, Self is still working hard to find a good teacher, although the price is very expensive, which is why Self hasn't been able to save money.

The swordsmanship is elegant yet deadly. If one were to watch from a distance, one would think it was a harmless and gentle dance, but only by truly parrying would one be forced back by its sharpness.

Elegance is just an add-on; what's truly terrifying are the killing moves within it.

That was probably one of the earliest Mercenaries? Willing to do anything for money, a good master, but not a truly qualified master in the real sense, merely imparting skills in exchange for Reward, with no ironic meaning; doing so actually brings peace of mind.

Because Self's Talents are really not that good, at least that's what the master said. If you can't match in strength, you have to work hard to train your skills, and one day you will succeed.

But every time Self picks up a sword, there's a strange feeling of not learning new knowledge, but rather relearning old skills.
