…Who was the gardener?...
Was she mystical, fictional, magical, or fantastical? Or was she being metaphysical, an illusory creature within the mind without a why? Will she exist, or persist to stay within the mist of one world?
…Why had the tree been planted?...
No one knows, no one saw it grow nor it outgrow. It was planted without a plan onto this planet.
…Will it ever be free?...
…(unavailable)...
Ontological status (Post-Great war): The entity's natural forest had been largely destroyed. However, one massive tree remained standing, while scattered surviving areas of vegetation persisted within a radius of 4,000 kilometers (2,485 mi). Excavation and recovery operations are currently underway.
Overview:
Lugranda, officially known as the Emerald Verdant Heartlands of Lugranda, lies in the Almsteed region of Eldervale. She borders the Deadman Sea to the north, Nav Kushti Rati to the east, Askalton to the south, and Lepondunon and Acludion to the west.
She is carefree, absent-minded, and seemingly untouched by the worries of the world. Easily forgetting even the darkest of memories, she carries an unshakable happiness wherever she goes. She cherishes all of nature for its tranquility and freedom, believing that life is meant to be lived without burdens weighing upon the heart. In a world so full of wonders, she remains its happiest and most lively soul. She refuses to acknowledge anything she perceives as stressful, rejecting whatever threatens to disturb her fragile peace. Instead, she retreats into her own world of daydreams, allowing her mind to wander freely in broad daylight, untouched by interruption or the demands of reality.
About Lugranda:
⌗ Lugranda was once a major trade hub of Eldervale between the 300s and 500s, emerging as the region's earliest center of trade and finance.
⌗ About two-thirds of Lugranda is covered in dense forests filled with countless tree and animal species, many of which were once thought to be extinct elsewhere.
⌗ The national symbol is the legendary Youngsprout Tree, known for its extreme growth rate, reaching up to about 6 kilometers (3.73 mi) tall, with massive trunks stretching hundreds of meters wide. Its bright pine-green color is iconic across the nation.
⌗ Lugranda's forests are extremely dense and dangerous, filled with difficult terrain and hostile wildlife. Despite warnings, many people - especially children - have been lost over time.
⌗ The skies above Lugranda often appear softly green due to the vast forest canopy stretching across most of the land.
⌗ According to Lugrandon tradition, spirits dwell within nature itself, serving as guardians of the forests. Fascinatingly, ancient accounts suggest that these mysterious presences have inhabited the forests for millions of years, long before recorded history began
⌗ Even with modernization, many Lugrandons still prefer eating wild forest fruits, claiming they are fresher and more natural.
⌗ The Land of Festivals: Lugranda hosts an astonishing four to five festivals every month, most celebrating the wonders of nature, from blooming flowers to ancient forests.
⌗ Lugranda is the birthplace of Arborseepage, a unique drink extracted directly from tree bark. With over a hundred variations, it has become the nation's most prized export.
⌗ One of Lugranda's most beloved phrases is "May the root be with you," a common way to wish someone good luck. It reflects how deeply nature has shaped the nation's language and culture.
Brief modern history:
I. THE ABANDONMENT OF LUGRANDA AND THE DARNATAMA NARTA (1201–1215)
The formal cessation of the Lantern War in 1201 catapulted Lugranda into an age of near-total systemic atrophy and infrastructural devastation. The body politic buckled beneath colossal fiscal deficits and precarious sovereign debt liabilities, while supply networks were utterly annihilated, societal literacy rates experienced a headlong decline, and endemic criminality alongside acute civic anomie burgeoned across all socio-economic strata. Though volatile hostilities had abated, Lugranda confronted a multifaceted existential crisis that conventional post-conflict reconstruction paradigms and orthodox statecraft were impotent to ameliorate.
In January 1204, Tirtanos Brannicus acceded to the executive presidency. His administration instituted disciplined fiscal policies and initiated structural stabilization efforts, yet the nation's foundational structural pathologies persisted unabated.
A radically iconoclastic ideological alternative materialized in 1205 with the rise of the Darnatama Narta movement. Rooted in an unyielding anti-civilizational, primitivist dogma, the movement postulated that organized modernity itself constituted the primal nexus of human misery. Rejecting reformist agendas within the Lugranda, its adherents advocated for the repudiation of contemporary society in favor of an unmediated, eco-centric existence integrated harmoniously within the natural biosphere.
The movement initially unleashed across several northern sectors. Entire communes renounced their habitations, vocations, civic institutions, and ultimately their formal state citizenship. En masse, vast swathes of the citizenry executed a wholesale abandonment into the wilderness, erecting autonomous, insular encampments.
By 1208, the Darnatama Narta paradigm had proliferated into southern and western Lugranda. State authorities launched repeated entreaties to reintegrate the populace into the civil fabric, yet these pacification campaigns proved wholly futile.
Over the succeeding quadrennium, this socio-political exodus accelerated exponentially. Ultimately, more than half of Lugranda's nominal population repudiated their citizenship, stripping the central administration of operational authority outside a diminishing cluster of urban enclaves. By 1211, the Lugrandon state survived merely as a hollow bureaucratic shell. The collapse of the central government actualized toward the midpoint of that year.
By 1215, Lugranda had ceased to function as a conventional geopolitical entity. Its former territorial expanse had disintegrated into autonomous agrarian and tribal communities - establishing one of the earliest definitive manifestations of a comprehensive anarchist social structure in the historical chronicle of Eldervale.
II. THE SOLITAROCU AND THE STRUGGLE FOR LUGRANDA (1216–1220)
Apprehensive that this geopolitical fragmentation would expose the vulnerable territory to predatory external intervention, plenipotentiaries representing these decentralized polities convened on 20 March 1216 to negotiate a unified political architecture. The delegation ratified the creation of several centralized institutions, chief among them a General Administrative Directorate tasked with conducting inter-communal affairs across the domain. This summit culminated in the National Governance Doctrine - a framework that subsequently coalesced into the indispensable institutional locus of Lugranda's modern bureaucratic matrix.
This inchoate communal order, however, demonstrated pernicious vulnerability to autogenous destabilization. Within a four-year span, severe resource scarcity coupled with an overwhelming impetus toward radical local unifism. By 1220, Lugranda had disintegrated into a balkanized expanse of hostile warlord polities, precipitating the protracted era taxonomized as the Solitarocu.
Among the dominant martial actors to materialize during this interregnum was Mitosecto, a formidable warlord operating out of Lugrandon austral. Throughout 1218, Having successfully subsumed the expansive southern and western sectors beneath his suzerainty, he thereafter promulgated a maximalist campaign to annex the lingering splinter territories. In May 1218, Mita Luto-Galla assumed the executive mantle, striving to reconstitute Lugranda into a centralized polity.
The executive cadre manifested negligible administrative acumen and struggled to project central sovereign authority across entrenched local communes accustomed to an extended period of unmediated autarky. Consequently, regional separatist movements expanded again, threatening to disestablish the fragile unification almost at its inception.
In January 1220, following the resignation of Luto-Galla, Rinos Vano unilaterally proclaimed himself head of state, inaugurating an autarchic dictatorial regime. This seizure of power immediately provoked malefic domestic opposition - notably from the Ollossecta, a radical student-led movement that openly denounced the despotic administration.
Misgiving that this intensifying socio-political friction would permeate into an all-out civil war, Vano ultimately capitulated. His executive prerogatives were drastically curtailed and the constitutional republican framework was restored.
III. THE SKARAMAKA PERIOD (1221–1225)
In the wake of the preceding decade's severe political convolutions, Lugranda endeavored to fortify its body politic against both internal centrifugal pressures and external menaces. In 1221, the administration executed a sweeping structural expansion and reorganization of the armed forces. Though ostensibly conceived to safeguard the embattled republic, this militaristic overhaul inadvertently entrenched regional generals as autonomous power brokers, granting them unprecedented political and territorial dominion.
Consequently, central sovereign authority grew increasingly subservient to military dynasts whose primary allegiances transcended the constitutional edifice of the republic.
This vulnerability was exacerbated following the demise of Rinos Vano, who succumbed to an undiagnosed immunodeficiency syndrome on 17 June 1225. Smaros Breogan was subsequently exalted to the executive presidency, yet his administration was devoid of tangible executive efficacy. Military satraps, provincial warlords, and autonomous communes functioned with overarching impunity.
This administrative incapacity was laid bare by the Litaniakon Uprising, spearheaded by Smeu Nis Creno. The central government mobilized to crush the insurgency, but its counter-offensive disastrously failed to re-establish hegemony. Litaniakon proclaimed uncompromised independence, provoking a major fracture within the already fragile constitutional structure.
This initial secession unleashed a chain-reaction disintegration. Ancillary territories fleetingly emulated Litaniakon's defiance, as contiguous communities and military jurisdictions unilaterally declared autonomy. Lugranda experienced a calamitous unraveling of the state's territorial dominion, marking the advent of the turbulent historical epoch remembered as the Skaramaka Period.
Desperate to arrest the republic's terminal political disintegration and establish a common security framework against escalating regional threats, the remaining municipal and military authorities convened to negotiate a pragmatic political rapprochement. On 30 November 1225, eight autonomous polities ratified the founding accord of United Lugranda, inaugurating a fissile confederation whose cohesion depended upon the continued cooperation.
IV. THE TWO ROADS OF LUGRANDA (1227–1241)
The fragile confederation of United Lugranda spiralled into unabashed interstate warfare. In August 1227, open warfare erupted between Kaisoromagos and Alvobona, marking the maiden macro-conflict in the wake of the united Lugranda compact's ratification. Kaisoromagos was compelled to capitulate, surrendering a notable portion of its southern marches. Concurrently, the hostilities precipitated the diffusion of Biocentric Communalism, a fringe doctrine amalgamating deep ecology, primitivist communalism, and egalitarian socialism.
In June 1229, the geopolitical landscape experienced severe structural destabilization with the administrative dismemberment of Nertomaros, northern Lugranda's preponderant power, fracturing into five belligerent micro-states due to acute internal socio-political friction and systemic bureaucratic impotence. Nertomaros's exclusive dominion over critical coastal mercantile arteries conferred its sudden downfall to the continuity of maritime commerce. The resulting severe commodity deficits exacerbated existential friction among the surviving regional sovereigns.
A macro-environmental catastrophe materialized during the Battle of Devokantiom on 10 June 1230, fought between the southern polities of Bormorito and Eburodunum. Mid-engagement, A spark within the Carnoiot Forest snowballed into the inferno known as the Great Fire of 1230. Uninhibited by centralized containment infrastructure, the conflagration swept across contiguous sovereign domains, burning unabated for nearly a month and consuming roughly 2,000,000 ha (4,942,107.629 ac) biosphere before deluge finally extinguished the inferno. The concomitant airborne toxic burden compromised civilian physiological health, necessitating the curtailment of several primary military campaigns.
In 1232, Tegouzu issued a commencement of aggression against Kernvel following an orchestrated false-flag operation involving the deliberate immolation of border timberlands. Tegouzu's strategic objective was the forceful annexation of Kernvel's dense industrial complexes. By February 1235, Tegouzu had entrenched the northern territories under its rule. Leveraging the region's most formidable military-industrial infrastructure, Tegouzu launched the sweeping Kora-Biga campaign to oppress the southern polities.
In parallel, beginning in January 1236, the Kontrebia Kantu movement proliferated rapidly among western military satrapies, Iterating upon the Kaisoromagos archetype, the faction mounted a campaign for egalitarian socialism and wealth redistribution, promulgating radical anti-corruption measures to dismantle the predatory feudal apparatuses of the ruling warlords.
In the southeastern quadrant, Bratrolen - the rudimentary remnant regime headed by Smaros Breogan - garnered considerable material resources and ideological support from Pyrrhassa and Askalton, gradually re-establishing administrative order. Infused with their accelerationist ideological principles, Breogan declared war on Caravangon in August 1236, initiating a coercive campaign of territorial expansion aimed at annexing the oriental littoral.
The momentum of the northern Kora-Biga campaign stalled in 1239. Tegouzu's forces proved unable to project military force across the region's insoluble terrain, leaving Bormorito and Eburodunum on the threshold of exhaustion while Tegouzu remained an isolated industrialized heavyweight. Simultaneously, the expanding western socialist paradigm began encroaching upon Tegouzu's western borderlands.
In early 1240, three prominent western socialist polities fused into a cohesive political entity designated as The Union. On 14 February 1240, The Union unleashed an all-encompassing war on Tegouzu. Stripped of strategic depth and compromised by internal ideological agitation, the industrial state underwent a celeritous submission, ultimately becoming subsumed within the expanding socialist order.
Finally, in October 1241, the Bratrolen regime finalized its conquest of the eastern and southern sectors. The entirety of the Lugrandan landmass stood consolidated and polarized between only two ideologically antithetical macro-states.
V. UNIFICATION (1242-1243)
Succeeding more than a decade of seismic geopolitical balkanization, Lugranda's two extant macro-states indelibly intertwined into open violent confrontation on 20 January 1242, officially marking the inception of the Lugrandon Civil War.
Battle of Taddobulgomagus, 26 May – 6 June 1242: In this rapid realignment, forward units of The Union breached the fortified Gorkia Tato defensive perimeter, forcing Bratrolen's garrisons into a disorderly flight. This pivotal rupture exposed expansive territorial corridors to Union penetration, accelerating the ideological assimilation of socialist doctrines among hitherto recalcitrant enclave populations
Battle of Suxsoberia, 15 September 1242 – 12 February 1243: Bratrolen launched a high-stakes campaign to suppress the critical Bulcomaga Forest and Sputo, yet the operation ended in a breakdown of operational effectiveness. The engagement precipitated unprecedented demographic attrition - the grimmest of the entire conflict.
Battle of Romulco, 27 March – 4 July 1243: The Union combined-arms divisions decimated Bratrolen's remaining defensive echelons, compelling the regime's unconditional surrender and the relinquishment of its extensive strategic armaments stockpiles. Following Bratrolen's administrative disintegration, the protracted and volatile schism between Lugranda's rival macro-regimes was neutralized.
Victorious yet structurally heterogeneous, The Union immediately fractured internally along four principal ideological axes: Eco-Anarchism, Libertarian Socialism, Networked Cyber-Communism, and Harmonic Collectivism. Each faction advocated a fundamentally incompatible statecraft architecture, engendering an regarding a insoluble impasse permanent constitutional framework.
To interdict immediate systemic breakdown, a transitional executive authority was instituted, elevating Lurdovaka Mulcoicum to preside over the provisional government.
VI. DEADLOCK AND THE AUTONO-RETTUI SETTLEMENT (1243–1252)
With the Lugrandon Civil War approaching its denouement, the re-amalgamated state attempted to adjudicate its foundational legal principles. On 1 January 1243, a nation-wide plebiscite was implemented to establish the state's definitive polity. Nevertheless, the electoral exercise precipitated an unrelenting legislative stalemate among clashing socialist contingents, intensifying the dormant ideological fissures threatening to dismantle The Union.
By mid-1243, Lurdovaka Mulcoicum sought to shatter the standoff by dictating the peremptory proscription of all active socialist political organizations. Mulcoicum had gradually fallen under the ideological sway of Pyrrhassa, Askalton, and reactionary factions sympathetic to the defunct Bratrolen regime. This autocratic enactment provoked an immediate, hostile insurrectionary backlash.
A prominent socialist coalition, the Arez Kerdom Kwe Totas (AKKT), launched a violent putsch targeting The Totas, the administrative headquarter of Lugranda. Armed engagement immersed the interior of the complex, eventuating in the assassination of Mulcoicum amidst the crossfire. Notwithstanding the putsch's efficacy in decapitating the provisional Directorate, the AKKT failed to establish indisputable preeminence across the broader subcontinent, rather, disparate political factions allied against a common foe, unleashing a compounded wave of belligerent factionalism.
Confronting the prospect of a renewed civil conflagration, the belligerent factions ultimately abandoned aspirations for a unitary government. Instead, they restructured the state around an intricate consociational power-sharing framework, wherein distinct political blocs exercised localized administrative self-governance within their respective territorial spheres. By 1245, Lugranda attained a volatile internal equilibrium, subsuming this polycentric administrative framework into a centralized apparatus.
In January 1247, the Loinos Vidus program was implemented as a macro-scale environmental reclamation campaign, committed to reforesting vast tracts of timberland ravaged by decades of conflict.
This political compromise was legally institutionalized on 8 August 1250 with the ratification of the Autono-Rettui. The statute standardized Lugranda as an autonomous commonwealth, conferring legal sanction upon the multifocal governance paradigm whilst enshrining robust bastions formulated to forestall prospective implosions.
Throughout the 1250s, insurgent paramilitary cells and radical extremist factions persevered in operating across the federal marches. On 12 July 1252, a violent accelerationist syndicate executed a mass casualty terrorist atrocity, plunging the entire confederation into a state of nationwide security alert.
VII. THE YEARS OF DUST AND FAMINE (1256–1265)
In April 1256, the boreal were subjected to the Slanocoros - an aeolian dust tempest generated by decades of ecological mismanagement and unmitigated land exploitation. Sweeping across northern Lugranda with harrowing velocity, the tempest was compounded in June by the marine calamity of the Morielicros Tsunami. Amalgamated, these compounding tragedies wrecked the majority of the northern territory, registering as the most severe ecological cataclysm in Lugrandon historiography.
The crisis exacerbated in October 1258 with the epizootic dissemination of the Borkoslappus Pandemic nationwide. The pathogen engendered total arboreal defoliation, stripping indigenous woodlands of foliage and exposing vast tracts of terrain to the relentless storm-driven particulate drift. As the protective biosphere subsided, the Slanocoros proliferated eastward, encroaching deeper into the nation's backlands.
Cognizant that the existing structural systems were powerless of effectuating a coordinated national remediation strategy, Vegiom Teco Comvrogio Catu (VTCC) promulgated the Are-Trikantail, an emergency legislative assembly. Convened on 15 December 1258, the summit compelled rival political factions to cede substantial sovereign autonomy to VTCC, centralizing crisis-management capabilities to organize national survival.
By 1261, the confluence of sustained aeolian tempests and a thermal wave engendered the Famine of '61. Agrarian yields utterly disintegrated, compelling an anguished populace to consume arboreal cortex as a caloric surrogate, lamentably, the residual cortical matrices had been chemically vitiated and rendered neurotoxic by the Borkoslappus, inducing secondary waves of mass mortality and compounding the catastrophic plight.
Amidst this cascading societal dissolution, the federal directorate petitioned Gordionis and Nav Kushti Rati for urgent material succor. Both foreign powers intervened, dispatching humanitarian aid and logistical support. In 1264, protracted meteorological precipitation finally attenuated the dust storms. Supplemented by both allies, these environmental shifts rehabilitated the biosphere. By late 1264, the Slanocoros was downgraded from an existential hazard to a neutralized phenomenon.
Ecological rehabilitation accelerated in September 1265 as Lugranda procured agrarian seed stocks via a bilateral requisition from Paivakoski, establishing a large-scale afforestation program.
In tandem, the latent political antagonisms that had been artificially suppressed by existential peril resurfaced with renewed virulence. The expanding influence of the VTCC reconfigured the geopolitical topography, reigniting polarization and fracturing the dominant political factions into diametrically opposed.
VIII. FOUR WAYS (1268–1269)
On 24 March 1268, amidst chronic attacks on critical infrastructure that have triggered cascading grid collapse throughout Lugranda, the central administration imputed culpability to Askalton and declared hostilities. The punitive expedition, anticipated to fortify national morale, devolved instead into an unmitigated military humiliation for the federation.
The terminal engagement transpired at the Battle of Goblinodu, commencing on 5 April 1268 and persisting until the armistice three weeks later. The Lugrandon army suffered a humiliating rout, forcing the country to cede both the Snaillo tota and the Devosclopo River watershed to Askalton. This geopolitical debacle severely ruptured the institutional credibility of VTCC. Public opprobrium was instantaneous. VTCC encountered widespread civil boycotts and vehement condemnation, facilitating the resurgence of rival political formations.
Latent strife ultimately peaked during the National Conference on 30 March 1269. With tensions mounting verbal vitriol, Nerto Pambilla hurled a heavy seating fixture at Nertomar Bormogis subsequent to Bormogis deriding her as an "opportunistic whore." The incident instantly detonated a violent plenary melee. Delegates from all adversarial camps plunged into the fray, ensued in the emergency hospitalization of all four factional leaders by the cessation of the brawl.
Meanwhile, a nascent pan-nationalist unification movement garnered substantial popular momentum among a populace fatigued by decades of administrative fragmentation and cyclic systemic crises.
Within two succeeding months, the ideological dissension soon outgrew the bounds of diplomacy. As belligerent factions waged open combat across the domain, the realm descended into the tempestuous age designated as the Four Ways Civil War.
IX. THE FIRST GREAT WAR OF ELDERVALE (1271-1274)
The fratricidal hostilities of the civil war were abruptly suspended in the face of an exogenous threat, the Cloud Garden - a bipartite coalition driven by the allied powers of Askalton and Pyrrhassa. Confronted by this entrapment , the four perennial adversarial Lugrandon factions brokered a cessation of hostilities on 14 February 1271, ratifying a United Front to execute a unified defense.
Battle of Uksosarnik (Lugranda), 26 May – 14 September 1271: Tactically outflanked, the Lugrandon forces coordinated a retrograde toward the Widulabur Forest. This topologically anomalous and shifting woodland served as an improvised defensive redoubt, altering the operational theater. By exploiting this mutable redoubt, Lugrandon forces arrested the momentum of the Askalton-led Boudokat-Kamanom Offensive, precluding a transformative leap into the Lugrandon heartland.
Battle of Nertovisio (Lugranda), 30 June – 26 October 1272: Impelled by attrition, Lugranda withdrew behind the natural barrier of the Abonis River. Once more, the morphology of the periphery served as an asymmetric defensive asset, its mercurial defiles disrupted the coalition's logistical and command networks, precipitating widespread disorientation among enemy units.
Battle of Ugaraalias (Lugranda), 11 December 1272 – 7 February 1273: Chronicled alternately as the New Year's Campaign. In this theater, Lugrandon forces deployed massive ambulatory arboreal entities as bio-kinetic siege weaponry to crippling psychological and tactical effect. This counterstroke successfully dislodged the occupying forces, reclaiming both the strategic enclave of Snaillo Tota and the riparian corridor of the Devosclopo River.
This tactical ascendancy proved ephemeral. In October 1273, the Cloud Garden adopted a doctrine of deliberate environmental devastation, systematically implementing a scorched-earth policy across Lugranda's arboreal terrain. Extensive tracts of woodland were denuded into wasteland, stripping the natural bastion that had long underpinned its doctrine of territorial preservation. Exposed susceptible, Lugranda was forced into a defensive posture, exacerbated domestically by a virulent anti-war faction that eroded popular resolve and political cohesion.
Battle of Karngarrak (Lugranda), 10 November – 17 December 1273: A strategic dereliction within the Lugrandon command left the southwestern theater critically compromised. Exploiting this operational negligence, Cloud Garden formations breached the threshold and surged toward the interior. The unhindered advance brought forth the investment and fall of Tarragoneth.
Lugranda maintained an irregular disorganized resistance until 1 February 1274, but widespread psychological demoralization within the ranks rendered prolonged combat untenable. The capitulatory administration was coerced into signing the Sitosaduonios Treaty, an instrument through which the state yielded sovereignty over the entirety of southern Lugranda.
In the wake of this dismemberment, the United Front dissolved almost instantaneously. With the external catalyst temporarily mitigated, the ideological enmities of the four factions reignited, plunging the state back into the internecine strife and factionalism that had characterized its pre-war landscape.
X. THE FALL SOCIALIST REGIMES AND UNIFICATION (1274-1277)
The military capitulation of the United Front in early 1274 set in motion its terminal decline of Lugranda's order. VTCC - the main fighting force for the First Great War - was eclipsed by the tripartite rival factions. By April 1274, following a compounding cascade of operational miscalculations and administrative failures, its governing mandate was effectively nullified.
This resultant structural vacuum catalyzed an ideological metamorphosis across the surviving socialist republics. Esoteric extremist doctrines multiplied as public disillusionment toward traditional institutional order intensified. Incapable of rationalizing their cumulative martial setbacks and governance bankruptcies, the factions watched helplessly as avant-garde philosophies saturated the socio-political sphere.
In July 1274, the Arez Kerdom Kwe Totas (AKKT) sustained a crushing dismantling against Touta Vidua (TV) at the Battle of Uxamasego. TV embodied a virulent anti-civilizational counter-culture championing the abolishment of societal infrastructure in favor of primal biosimilar primitivism. This defeat starkly illuminated that the remaining Lugrandon polities could no longer rely on institutional inertia to withstand the rising tide of radicalism.
The geopolitical disintegration continued unabated as Comtreba Arznas Bitu Nertur (CABN) collapsed in August, succeeded by Comduno Es-Ankios Arzna Belaisken (EAAB) in November. Across the western and central marches, a spectrum of revolutionary paradigms - encompassing Neo-Accelerationism, Orthogonal Totalitarianism, Autotrophic Phyto-Anarchism, and Epistemic Metabolism (championed by pro-Nav Kushti Rati faction) - vied aggressively for ideological supremacy on the eve of 1275.
The crisis reached an inflection point on 12 April 1275 when TV initiated the Comsego Expedition, a grand-scale retaliatory campaign to crush the vestiges of warlordism before the state's definitive fracture. Confronted by the imminent trajectory of TV's bio-primitivist dominance, the bickering Lugrandon factions shelved their ideological antipathies to forge a defensive alliance.
Because of deep-seated ideological incompatibilities and mutual paranoia sabotaged inter-command alignment. Chronic logistical deficits compounded their vulnerability, while the traditional military proved incapable of adapting their doctrines to counteract TV's heterodox modalities of warfare. Following a relentless succession of battlefield debacles, the alliance finally disintegrated in March 1277.
XI. THE WILDERNESS (1277-1290)
In the aftermath of its decisive martial ascendance in 1277, the Touta Vidua (TV) enthralled the Lugrandon collective beneath a radical atavistic socio-political architecture. The ascendant vanguard propagated the infamous Soriuctuen—an antinomian doctrine dictating the wholesale obliteration of modern civilizational constructs in favor of an unalloyed regression to primordial savagery. Contemporary infrastructural networks and all teleological metrics of societal progression were unconditionally anathematized. Concomitantly, myriad communes embraced behavioral devolution, wholly jettisoning sartorial strictures and entrenched cultural mores in an ecstatic abnegation of civilized modernity.
The ensuing period is deemed as the most feral interregnum recorded within Lugrandon historiography. As foundational civic scaffolding evaporated, decentralized agrarian enclaves calibrated their existence entirely to the capricious dictates of the ecological biome. The ontological membrane segregating anthropic socialization from untamed wilderness dissolved into ambiguity. Subsequent historiographical treatises have diagnosed this era as one of deliberate anthropogenic retrogression, wherein the populace excised the quintessential hallmarks linked to civilized habitation.
By 1279, this sociogenic ascendance reached its terminal institutional nadir. All residual industrial apparatuses were decommissioned, and systemic energy utilization was extirpated across the territorial expanse. Despite this autarkic seclusion from modernity, the Lugrandon collective sustained an influx of armaments via subsidization from Gordionis and Nav Kushti Rati.
On 18 July 1282, a lustrum following the inauguration of this societal inversion, the ceremonial convocation of the Soriuctuen transpired in Tarragoneth. Multitudinous throngs cohesed around cyclopean pyres, engaging in bacchanalian choreography throughout the nocturnal cycle.
The biosphere, however, furnished negligible sanctuary against its climatological extremes. Commencing on 6 May 1285, a torrential deluge inundated the northern Lugranda. Enduring for an unprecedented 563 circadian cycles, this phenomenon registered as the most protracted interval of uninterrupted precipitation within the national meteorological archive. Sustained environmental saturation provoked epidemiological outbreaks, whilst fluvial inundations submerged numerous settlements.
Between 1286 and 1288, the region was convulsed by a succession of border skirmishes oriented around the reclamation of expropriated southern domains. The primitivist directorate endeavored to re-annex the geographical concessions forfeited during antecedent conflicts.
In September 1290, a crimson deluge descended across the Lugrandon landmass for a continuous hebdomad. Contemporaneous archival testimonies documented that this occurrence emanated a distinct olfactory resonance indistinguishable from coagulated hemoglobin, whilst inducing caustic dermal lacerations upon somatic exposure.
XII. THE YEARS OF TRANSITION (1294–1302)
The Second Great War of Eldervael engendered neither the amelioration of Lugranda's systemic domestic volatility nor the pacification of its disillusioned populace. TV sustained an eroding of its sovereign legitimacy. Subsequent to a contentious plebiscite that contributed to the abdication of the TV directorate, executive supremacy was usurped by Teuta Novireta Nerton Kante Taranis (TNNKT) - a neo-neo-accelerationist intent upon rescinding the Soriuctuen mandates and catapulting the Lugrandon polity into a futuristic technological pathway.
This socio-political transfiguration actualized with uncompromising abruptness. As cutting-edge technological inventions were reintroduced into the civil sphere, the autocracy launched pacification campaigns to diminish recalcitrant wilderness movements. Nevertheless, this techno-industrial restoration provoked pervasive resentment among agrarian communes. Insurrectionary uprisings erupted across the country, concentrated within sylvan areas where former adherents of TV mounted resistance against the technocratic authority.
The TNNKT also initiated a recalibration of its geopolitical posture, fostering diplomatic rapprochement with Pyrrhassa and Askalton. While these diplomatic maneuvers offered lucrative conduits for macroeconomic rehabilitation, they simultaneously elicited escalating animosity from Gordionis and Nav Kushti Rati.
The government experienced a setback in July 1298 when a deadly malfunction within the resurrected power grid ignited a blaze within the Brochnor Forest. Propagated by prevailing winds, the inferno wrought environmental devastation alongside astronomical fiscal deficits. This ecological disater severely exacerbated civil disillusionment toward TNNKT, starkly exposing the incompatibility between the regime's evangelized technological progress and the environmental rehabilitation..
In November 1299, a pervasive leak of classified dossiers exposed corruption permeating the state. Notwithstanding the gravity of these evidentiary disclosures, the administration refused to convene judicial inquiries or prosecutorial tribunals. Instead, the authority choreographed a campaign of informational suppression and censorship.
Throughout the year 1300, civil unrest convulsed the Lugrandon internal. Galvanized demonstrators mobilized to demand administrative transparency and challenge the state's increasingly authoritarian measures. The regime counter-mobilized with militarized repression. Although subsequent historical accounts and theories posit the occurrence of covert massacres perpetrated against civilian dissidents.
As the socio-political crisis approached a terminal precipice, on 22 September 1302, Viduchel - an antediluvian, sapient arboreal entity enshrined in mythos and purported to possess a lifespan spanning millions of years - roused from an eons-long dormancy within the environs of Selmara. In stark contradistinction to both the hyper-industrial imperatives of the accelerationists and the feral atavism of the Touta Vidua remnants, Viduchel articulated a third paradigm, prophesied the genesis of a sublime ecological utopia for Lugranda - a harmonized synthesis wherein advanced civilizational enterprise and the sovereign natural world could achieve symbiotic coexistence.
XIII. THE CATURIT ESEK REBELLION (1302–1304)
After the ontological awakening of Viduchel in September 1302, societal adherence to the antediluvian entity expanded with exponential velocity. This dendro-centric movement achieved hegemony across the Rigomar tota, heavily subsidized by surreptitious material and geopolitical interventions from Nav Kushti Rati and Gordionis, before permeating into two contiguous totas.
Perceiving this eco-spiritual insurgency as a menace to sovereignty, the central administration deployed oppession to execute its neutralization. At the same time, state operatives sought to re-induce Viduchel's dormant state through targeted metaphysical interdictions, operating under the strategic assumption that nullifying the movement's focal epicenter would arrest the spreading civil paroxysm. This operationa aborted ignominiously as partisans surrounding the arboreal sovereign marshalled an uncompromising defense, while synchronized insurrectionary uprisings erupted across the contested sectors. On 30 December 1302, the Caturit Esek Rebellion was began.
The theater of conflicts transcended its initial regional perimeters, engulfing the broader federal substrate.
Battle of Marabryn, 16 January – 15 February 1304: In an invocation of environmental warfare, Viduchel's forcces provoked the living biosphere across the entirety of Lugranda. Vast woodlands underwent total mobilization with colossal root matrices erupted violently beneath entrenched military positions, pulverizing the regime's armored formations and infantry echelons in situ.
Government defensive networks sustained a structural collapse, facilitating the sweeping, unimpeded diffusion of the ecological revolution across the entire national geographic expanse.
Battle of Selmara, 19 – 28 April 1304: Encircled by an inescapable convergence of bio-kinetic and partisan forces, and incapable of projecting sovereign authority, the government executed a surrender. The Caturit Esek Rebellion had achieved victory, dismantling the techno-accelerationist autocracy of TNNKT and terminating its futuristic program.
Concomitant with the de jure ratification of the capitulatory accords, Viduchel was formally invested with supreme executive primacy, engendering an unexampled dendro-archic dispensation within the historical record of Lugranda.
XIV. THE ARBORIST RESTORATION (1304–1329)
Prior to the consummation of the Caturit Esek Rebellion, the expanding pro-Viduchel coalition encountered an administrative impasse. On 1 January 1304, its proponents established the Central Directorate of State Administration to manage routine bureaucratic logistics and coordinate governance across the state. Viduchel's age-old age and protracted cognitive temporalities rendered an auxiliary executive systems imperative. Following the revolution's April triumph, the Directorate persisted as the operational nerve center of the body politic.
In 1305, Lugranda convened a plenipotentiary summit to adjudicate the long-term trajectory of the state. Deliberations spanning from January through August evaluated paradigms for civilizational restoration engineered to circumvent the ecological ruin and political convulsions of antecedent decades. These proceedings systematized the nascent political philosophy of the Viduchel administration, though the dialectical friction between technological modernism and bio-centric preservation remained intractable.
In October 1308, Lugranda approved a tripartite alliance alongside Nav Kushti Rati and Gordionis to inaugurate the Golden Syndicate, formally institutionalizing multi-national integration.
The transformative domestic intervention took shape in 1311 with the promulgation of the Segocten - a master plan engineered for comprehensive civilizational restoration. By the conclusion of that year, critical infrastructure had been re-established to metrics comparable to the pre-Soriuctuen era. Nevertheless, certain recalcitrant communes resisted this societal normalization, opting to maintain a primitive existence within the wilderness backcountry beyond the regulatory reach of the resurrected state.
This era also witnessed the crystallization of Arborism, an eco-centric philosophy that championed a harmonic, co-existential relationship between humanity and the nature biosphere without mandating the repudiation of civilized order, synthesizing ecological stewardship with technological progression.
In January 1315, the state achieved the completion of the Vidunotvun Project. This technological endeavor harnessed tree-based ecological networks as an energy vector, supplying the state with an abundant power supply while insulating its energy grid against Askalton's electrical sabotage.
Later structural reforms ensued in 1317. The government enacted the Constitutional Review Commission, vesting it with supreme jurisdiction to delineate and separate judicial oversight from the Central Directorate. The National Economic Planning Commission was also established to regulate macroeconomic activity and suppress corruption, embezzlement, and illicit rent-seeking.
In 1319, Lugranda executed the expansion and reopening of its northern maritime ports to international commerce following decades of self-sufficient and regional trading. Mercantile traffic resumed, reintegrating the country into the international economic framework.
As the temporal advanced, Viduchel entered a phase of gradual senescent degradation. Notwithstanding this physiological decline, on 20 September 1325, the central directorate decreed the tree as Lugranda's perpetual sovereign. Validated by unanimous institutional consensus and popular acclamation, Viduchel acceded to this permanent titular designation, accepting supreme despite its waning biological vitality.
This socio-cultural transfiguration achieved a sublimation through pedagogical reformation. Following a quadrennium of rigorous institutional and philosophical preparation, Viduchel delivered its inaugural discourse on 5 January 1329. Multitudes of the citizenry convened beneath the canopy or received the transmission via nationwide broadcast networks, participating in immersive symposia that integrated didactic instruction with deep contemplative meditation.
XV. THE KOMBALKO-MARO ERA (1332-1353)
By 1332, Lugranda had ushered in the Kombalko-Maro Era - an epoch of macroeconomic expansion propelled by an amplifying demand for dendro-genetic seed stocks throughout northern Eldervale. This non-extractive, silvicultural economy unleashed employment opportunities, stimulated private capital accumulation, and accelerated state-sponsored infrastructural modernization. Multiple Lugrandan metropolises transfigured into vibrant, cosmopolitan commercial centers, captivating foreign travelers and elevating the state into an celebrated destination for trans-continental tourism.
During an hydrological deficit across southern Lugranda in 1334, Viduchel extended its subterranean root architecture deep into underground artesian aquifers to secure the water supply of the capital metropolis. Although this intervention averted the domestic desiccation, the sudden, massive diversion of subterranean water reserves exacerbated tensions with Askalton, injecting further erraticism into their already strained bilateral relationship.
In May 1338, the authority expanded its nautical reconnaissance of the Dunoetia Archipelago. Renewed expeditionary cartography mapped numerous insular islands and documented unprecedented geographical aberrations - most notably an island characterized by upside-down dendrological formations. These discoveries broadened the hydrographic frontiers and opened lucrative new conduits for mercantilism, further reinforcing Lugranda's burgeoning economy.
In July 1339, when the entire trees underwent a uniform chromatic transfiguration to crimson. Persisting until November 1341, this phenomenon stood as the most protracted foliar shift in Lugrandon historiography, eclipsing the foliar browning event of 1196–1197.
Following the collapse of compromise negotiations with Askalton in November 1339, the government promulgated the Eternal Canopy Doctrine on 1 August 1342, codifying everlasting silvicultural stewardship as an inviolable constitutional obligation. This policy was instigated by the menace of toxic atmospheric effluvia emitted by neighboring states.
Subsequent summits with Askalton and Pyrrhassa in March, May, and August 1346 yielded deadlock. Recognizing the futility of these exchanges, Lugranda terminated all further attempts at reconciliation with either power.
On 16 October 1351, the completion of the Clutovir Canal marked one of the most monumental hydrological engineering achievements in the history of the country. The canal drastically optimized maritime transit efficiency, stimulated international trade, and attracted inflows of foreign commercial capital.
Two years later, in 1353, the historic Glass Path was recommissioned following more than a century of obsolete monumentality. Its operational restoration revitalized overland mercantile corridors.
XVI. PANGEA-FLOURISH AND THE GATHERING STORM (1356–1378)
In December 1356, Lugranda officially ascended to Pangea-Flourish - a paradigm denoting the absolute maximization of a nation-state's development. Nevertheless, with revisionist scholars positing that this apex of civilizational hyper-maturity was not authentically consolidated until 1358.
In 1364, Lugranda witnessed the precusor event of dendro-spiritual transmutation in nearly two centuries. This metaphysical phenomenon transpired when a Lugrandon ascetic achieved the enlightenment Ecobric state, culminating in their metamorphosis into a sentient sylvan entity.
On 24 October 1370, the security forces executed the apprehension of Elora Boduogena, the leader of Carnuaci - a furtive, reactionary terrorist network composed of remnants from defunct regimes and subsidized by Askalton's black-budget allocations. However, decentralized militants persisted in prosecuting sabotage operations across the central and southeast.
Bilateral diplomacy with Askalton degraded amid a proliferation of frontier incursions and territorial violations. In response to this bellicosity, Lugranda promulgated a restructuring initiative in March 1373. This structural overhaul modernized the armed forces while deepening the tactical symbiosis between conventional infantry and the locomotive arboreal assets.
Engineered to fortify the defenses and preempt aggressive infractions, these reforms triggered mobilization forces along the militarized border.
In November 1378, a colossal bolide impacted the Nantobily Forest in the eastern part of the nation. While the detonation inflicted constrained topographical trauma, the extraterrestrial lithic fragments salvaged from the crater incited epistemological and scientific intrigue. Research directorates immediately launched spectroscopic and metallurgical analyses to decipher the meteorite's composition and latent properties.
Luganda underwent continuous development until heralded of the outbreak of the Third Great War of Eldervale.
Ideology: Arborism
Arborism is a non-hierarchical, ecocentric political ideology that grants the forest itself the status of a legal person with the highest tier of rights, meaning no policy can be enacted if it compromises the long-term health of the mycelial network, and specialized representatives advocate for ancient groves in legislative sessions. Rejecting the frantic pace of modern life, Arborism views forests not as collections of natural resources but as a slow-moving electorate with a legitimate interest in land use policy, so major legislative changes are debated over a full year to observe how an idea "weathers" the four seasons before ratification.
Government authority is strictly local, with decisions made at the "grove" level and communities expected to shuttle resources to shaded or struggling areas. The ideology systematically dismantles hard infrastructure in favor of bio-mimicry, phasing out high-frequency noise and light pollution to honor the "Spirit of the Silence." The goal for every citizen is to achieve Phyto-Consciousness through practices such as standing still for hours to align one's heart rate with the slow rhythm of trees, and once in a lifetime, undergoing a solitary "Rooting" - living in the branches or at the base of an Elder Tree for a full lunar cycle to attain spiritual symbiosis. Upon death, the body is neither embalmed nor cremated; instead, it is placed in a mycelium coffin at the base of a designated Spirit-Tree, allowing the spirit to continue providing wisdom to the forest through the root system.
The legal system is based on resilience and protection rather than punishment, with humans viewed as the forest's "mobile immune system," tasked with defending trees from blight, invasive species, and external threats. Legal boundaries do not follow surveyors' property lines but instead trace the mycorrhizal networks connecting root systems, and the entire society emphasizes the development of Ecological Intuition - the metabolic relationship between people and the woods.
