The night was cold, and the fire was dying.
Lolly sat between Eko and Geo, staring into the flames.
"I need to say something," she whispered.
Eko looked up. Geo stiffened.
Lolly's voice trembled.
"I'm scared of losing both of you."
Eko didn't blink. "Lolly…"
Geo swallowed.
"You don't need to pick anyone."
Lolly fell silent for a moment, then spoke softly:
"I care about you both. But not… the same way."
Eko leaned forward, breath trapped.
Geo closed his eyes, waiting.
"I used to think I loved Geo," she whispered.
"But lately… I look for Eko first."
Eko froze.
Geo's chest tightened painfully.
Lolly continued, tears forming. "I don't want to hurt either of you. But my heart… it's confusing."
Eko touched her hand gently — his fingers shaking.
Geo stood up abruptly.
"I need air."
He walked into the dark, alone.
Eko looked after him with guilt… and relief.
