(Where it all begins…)

The national sports academy was always loud, chaotic, full of echoing whistles and shouting coaches.

But not for you.

You sat quietly in the physiotherapy room, writing patient notes, earbuds in, blocking out the world…

until the door burst open.

"Y/N! Emergency on Track A. NOW."

You blinked up at your supervisor.

"Who collapsed?"

He swallowed.

"…Jeon Jungkook."

Your pen froze mid-air.

The Jeon Jungkook.

Korea's golden athlete.

The boy whose posters lived on half the country's bedroom walls.

Sprinter, gymnast, boxer — a miracle wrapped in muscle and chaos.

But you didn't have time to think.

You grabbed your kit and ran.

On Track A… chaos.

Coaches screaming.

Athletes gathering.

Camera phones everywhere.

And on the ground, gasping for breath, sweat dripping down his temple—

Jungkook.

His hand was clutching his shoulder.

Not his leg.

Not his ankle.

His shoulder.

That detail alone made your stomach drop.

You kneeled beside him, your voice steady despite the panic around you.

"Jungkook-ssi, can you hear me?"

He looked up — dazed, annoyed, frustrated — and then confused when he saw you.

The quiet girl.

The new intern.

The one who avoids attention.

But right now, all eyes were on you.

 ON TRACK A - CHAOS

You take control.

"Everyone step back."

You pressed two fingers under Jungkook's jaw.

His pulse was racing. Hard.

"Did your shoulder lock again?"

His eyes widened — a secret exposed.

"…How did you—"

"Don't talk."

Your tone was soft but firm.

You placed your hand on his shoulder, pressing gently.

He winced.

You whispered to your supervisor,

"He's been hiding this injury."

Gasps all around.

His coach demanded,

"Is it serious?"

You shot a look.

"I can't say anything in front of everyone."

Jungkook met your eyes for a split second.

Grateful.

Annoyed.

Vulnerable.

You stabilized his shoulder, guided him to sit upright, and only then spoke to him quietly:

"If you keep running like this, you'll destroy your arm."

He smirked faintly even through the pain.

"…You're scolding me already?"

You didn't smile back.

"Because you're being stupid."

Everyone around you froze —

no one ever spoke to Jeon Jungkook like that.

But instead of getting angry,

he stared at you… like he was seeing you for the first time.

LATER, IN THE PHYSIO ROOM

She checked his shoulder's range of motion. He hissed once. She didn't react.

He tried flirting.

"Are you always this calm?"She didn't answer.

He tried smiling.

"My face isn't distracting you at all?"Still nothing.

He finally sighed and lay back on the table, hair slightly damp with sweat.

"So… you really don't care who I am, huh?"She finished taping his shoulder and said,"You're a patient. That's it."

He blinked—surprised. And that was the moment he got interested.

NIGHT FALLS. THE STADIUM BECOMES EMPTY.

You stayed back to finish some paperwork. While leaving, you noticed one stadium light still on.Someone was on the track.Running.Pushing himself too much.Hurting.

You ran toward him.

"Jungkook!"

He stumbled, breathing heavily, hands on his knees. You reached him, also out of breath.

"What are you doing? You'll hurt your shoulder again!"

Jungkook looked up at you, eyes tired and shiny from exhaustion.

"I can't fall behind. Not now."

His voice shook — something you had never heard from him before.

You gently held his injured arm and checked the strain. There was a little blood where his skin had scraped. You cleaned it quietly.Wrapped a bandage around it.

Then you touched his chin lightly so he'd look at you.

Your voice became soft.

"You don't have to run until you hurt yourself."

Jungkook stared at you — really stared — like your words reached something inside him.

"…Don't go yet."

His whisper was so soft it almost disappeared in the night.

You stayed.Sitting next to him on the empty track, under the single stadium light…

And that's where everything really began.
