Chapter 8 - Through Flame and Hell

[Yggdrasil — Edge of the Demon Territory]

Leon awoke at the border of the realm, his body aching as he pushed himself up from the scorched ground. He scanned his surroundings carefully, each step more cautious than the last.

Something felt wrong.

The air was heavy—thick with heat and the unmistakable scent of burning.

"What the hell is that smell?" Leon muttered. "Something's on fire… I've got to check it out."

He broke into a run, following the smoke until a massive mansion came into view. Flames devoured its walls, crackling as they climbed higher into the sky. Surrounding the burning structure stood several robed figures—mages.

Demons.

Leon dashed toward them, but one of the demons noticed him and shouted,

"Hey! There's an intruder here!"

The demons raised their wands in unison.

"Hell Bomb!"

Crackling mana erupted from their spells, forming a swirling vortex of flame that launched forward at terrifying speed. Leon reacted instantly—gripping his sword, he leapt aside.

BOOM!

The spell struck the ground, exploding on impact. Rubble and dust were hurled into the air.

As the debris settled, Leon charged forward at full speed.

One demon hastily cast defensive spells, but it wasn't enough.

"Ka-splat!"

The first body hit the ground

"Shing!"

The second followed

The remaining demons staggered back in shock.

"How can this pipsqueak hurt us this badly?!

They regrouped, mana surging violently as the air itself trembled.

"Crimson Bomb!"

Before they could finish, Leon shouted,

"Crimson Vortex!"

Mana spiraled outward, heat intensifying as a massive tornado of fire took shape. The blazing vortex surged forward and slammed into the demons

Flames consumed them.

"No—please—NOOO!" they screamed as the fire swallowed their voices one by one.

Silence followed, broken only by the crackle of the burning mansion.

Leon lowered his sword, eyes fixed on the mansion ahead.

He ran towards the door and kicked it down the door came flying down

The house burning down ,LEON starts to surge mana towards to his head and starts to sense mana signatures. A signature that was very dense and dark.

He darts towards this signature and finds a door where the signature was coming from so he destroys the door and finds a entity covered in mana instantly an urge occurs to Leon.

Leon grab his face to block out the stench of the mana he could not stand in the room due to how dark the mana was.Leon gets an idea he starts walking towards the entity but mana starts to resist him and starts to push him back so he puts his hand towards the entity and shouts " analyse" a wave of mana shoots out and starts to weave the mana in such a way that it produce a suction that starts to absorb the dark mana from the entity.

But the more it absorbs mana the more mana forms to take it's place he keeps trying to absorb the mana but he couldn't absorb it fully so he increases the suction speed and strength and what a success all the mana in the entity's body gets fully sucked out and all that remains after that he sees a skeleton remain having a shiny mana core

What remained was a kneeling skeleton, brittle and ancient. Embedded in its chest was a shining mana core, glowing with terrifying purity.

Leon approached slowly.

The moment he touched it—

The core shattered into light.

Mana flooded into his body, fusing with his own. Pain tore through him as new pathways forced themselves open, his heart pounding violently.

Runes flashed across his vision.

The mansion began to collapse.

Leon staggered back, clutching his chest, then turned and ran. He burst from the mansion just as the structure imploded behind him, flames consuming everything.

He didn't stop running.

Past the blast zone.

Past the scorched earth.

Until—

The air shifted.

The heat vanished.

Leon crossed an invisible threshold and stepped into another realm.

Towering trees stretched endlessly into the sky, their roots glowing faintly with mana. The forest hummed with life—ancient, powerful, watching.

Leon steadied his breathing

That's when the ground shook.

Branches snapped.

A massive shadow emerged from between the trees.

A Mana Bear.

Its fur shimmered with raw mana, veins of light pulsing beneath its hide. Glowing eyes locked onto Leon as it let out a thunderous roar that rattled the forest itself.

Leon raised his sword, mana surging instinctively.

"Guess there's no rest…"

The bear charged.

Leon met it head-on.

Mana exploded as blade and claw collided, shockwaves tearing through the forest floor. Trees shattered. Earth ruptured. Fire and raw mana clashed violently as Leon pushed beyond his limits.

The bear roared again—but this time, it staggered.

Leon's eyes burned with resolve

"Let's see what this new power can really do."

He surged forward.

And the forest erupted.

Leon grabbed his sword surged towards the bear, the bear tries to slash his neck

He skipped towards his belly and slash his belly apart

Ka-splat

Blood spills out, the bear screams in pain

Leon teleports to the back of his body and stabs him and blood splatters everywhere

He then teleport next to it's neck and finishes it off

When the beast falls down,he starts to cut down and collect it's material. After collecting it he heads towards the mountains

After travelling through the dangerous monster filled forest he finally makes it to the foot of the mountain and and shouts "finally I've made it"
