Chapter 6 - [CH06] First meeting with Tang San

Nuoding Academy is located west of Nuoding City. From a distance, Zhao Liuyun saw a majestic archway.

The gate was twenty meters wide and over ten meters high, built entirely of hard Earth, with two wrought iron gates below.

A main road extended inside the gate, flanked by tall, lush trees.

Leaning against the entrance was a shifty-eyed man whose gaze was malicious and carried a hint of greed.

Is that the unlucky guy who was almost killed by Tang San?

Zhao Liuyun merely glanced at him, unwilling to waste words, and directly handed over the admission certificate issued by Su Yuntao, stating calmly, "I am the new Work-Study Student."

"Work-Study Student?" The gatekeeper drew out his tone, took the certificate, and said rhythmically, "What's going on today? Work-Study Students haven't been seen for years, yet they are arriving in droves today?"

He roughly scanned it, while his fingers pretentiously rubbed together, as if waiting for something.

"Let me take a good look."

He said this, but his eyes kept darting around Zhao Liuyun.

This kid is fair-skinned and refined, and he's a Work-Study Student. He shouldn't be as aggressive as that bumpkin, right?

Zhao Liuyun knew the other party intended to solicit a bribe, but he refused to indulge him.

He snorted coldly, his eyes suddenly sharpening, and he immediately used [Hypnosis].

"This certificate was personally written by Master Su Yuntao of Spirit Hall right in front of me!"

"I am Innate Rank 5. How dare you refuse to acknowledge it!"

The strict words evoked a trace of fear, which Hypnosis rapidly amplified. The gatekeeper's heart skipped a beat, his body stiffened, and fine sweat beaded on his temples.

When he lowered his head to look closely again, he indeed saw the Rank 5 Soul Power, and he instantly shivered, his voice trembling:

"Yes, yes, yes, I was blind and offended you. Please come inside, sir."

"Arrogant first, then respectful~ Heh." Zhao Liuyun couldn't be bothered with his frightened appearance and only asked coldly, "Where is the Academic Affairs Office?"

"Go straight along the road, it's on the first floor of the Main Teaching Building." The gatekeeper's voice was still slightly trembling, but he didn't dare to delay, pointing ahead down the main road.

He tried to follow along to regain favor, offering, "I'll take you..."

"That's enough, you're not needed. Get lost." Zhao Liuyun waved him off.

"Aye, aye, yes, yes, I'll go, I'll go."

The gatekeeper timidly retreated back into his room.

Zhao Liuyun strode into the academy and soon found the Academic Affairs Office, where he smoothly completed the enrollment procedures and received a plain school uniform.

Work-Study Students do not pay tuition. Their accommodation is in Dormitory Seven, where all Work-Study Students live together, and it is the worst-conditioned dormitory.

Of course, he didn't mind.

Tang San~ Tang San, I've come for you!

Zhao Liuyun's heart leaped. Just as he reached the entrance of Dormitory Seven, he heard bursts of fighting coming from inside.

The fight has started?

I should get involved.

You don't know someone until you fight them—this is the opportunity.

Zhao Liuyun knew the saying, "In conversation, there are great scholars; among visitors, there are no commoners." People generally do not associate with those whose gap in status is too large.

Regardless of future developments, displaying strength now to raise his own standing would be beneficial for building a good relationship with the self-righteous Tang San.

"Bang."

Just two steps closer, a skinny, dark-skinned little boy who looked slightly dishevelled came flying toward him, landing flat on his back.

The light at the entrance was blocked by Zhao Liuyun, and the skinny little boy subconsciously raised his head.

His eyes were bright and piercing.

This was Zhao Liuyun's first impression of Tang San.

Fighting with a beautiful girl at this time, it must be Tang San.

As a transmigrator, he naturally possessed strong mental force, and Tang San also had the Purple Demon Eye to train his mental force... But no matter what, Zhao Liuyun trusted himself more; his specialized mental force training was definitely stronger than Tang San's!

[T/N : well Tang san also a transmigrator ,right?]

"Uh, hello everyone, I am the new Work-Study Student, Zhao Liuyun."

He flashed a harmless smile, greeted the people inside, then reached out and pulled Tang San up from the ground, casually patting the dust off his back.

"Thank you," Tang San said, expressing his gratitude.

"What are you all doing?" Zhao Liuyun pretended not to know.

"We are choosing the boss of the dormitory!"

The only beautiful girl in the crowd shouted loudly.

Her black hair was styled into a Scorpion Braid that hung past her hips. Her eyes were sparkling, and her pretty little face was fair with a rosy glow, looking as soft and pink as a ripe, plump peach, making one feel the urge to take a bite.

Even having been thoroughly exposed to filters and beauty treatments in his previous life, Zhao Liuyun had to admit that she was genuinely beautiful.

Purely natural and untouched, the Douluo Continent truly lived up to its name as a Fantasy world.

"I won, so I'm the boss of the dormitory now." Xiao Wu lifted her chin, looking proud.

"You're new. According to dormitory rules, you have to fight me."

"If you win, you can be the boss!"

Zhao Liuyun put down his clothes.

"I don't want to be the boss, but since you insist, let's go!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Xiao Wu excitedly raised her foot and rushed forward.

She bent her knee and raised her leg, her toes shooting out like an arrow released from a bowstring. The speed was extremely fast, carrying a wisp of wind directly toward Zhao Liuyun's face!

Zhao Liuyun's pupils contracted rapidly. The training of a Thief did not involve direct confrontation, making it difficult to deal with such a frontal assault.

If this were before, he definitely would have surrendered immediately.

But now he had become a [Thief]—

[Lightning Reflexes]!

Activate!

The eyes follow the mind, and the mind follows the will, but none are faster than the body's most primitive instinctive reaction.

Zhao Liuyun's body, which had feigned a forward rush, suddenly paused and directly retreated.

Rashly raising the foot during a fight is a dangerous move. It's fine if the kick connects, but missing exposes a flaw and causes the lower body to lose balance.

There must be a follow-up move.

He remained vigilant in his heart.

Is this rabbit trying to throw me down just like she threw Tang San?

Then I will first avoid her sharp edge.

Sure enough, Xiao Wu's strike missed, forcing her to spin her body to dissipate momentum, and her slender white leg had to be retracted.

"He actually dodged it?" Tang San watched this scene and couldn't help but recall how he had been instantly thrown down, feeling rather unpleasant inside.

"I was just careless, besides, why bother arguing with a girl?"

He rationalized the situation in his mind.

"Why are you dodging!"

Mumbling twice, Xiao Wu pushed off with her left foot and pressed forward again.

She was still using her feet. This must be related to her past habits; after all, rabbits don't have hands, only forepaws and hindpaws.

But Zhao Liuyun could only retreat this one time.

Dormitory Seven was three hundred square meters, which seemed large, but fifty beds took up a lot of space.

If he retreated further, there would be nowhere left to go.

He moved forward to meet her. His left hand shot out like lightning, accurately grasping Xiao Wu's ankle, while his right hand pushed forward, pressing against her sternum.

The agility granted by [Agility] was maximized, and his movements were fluid and seamless.

He had thought that since her hands couldn't act as pivot points, he could block Xiao Wu's scissor legs this way. Who knew that the rabbit was truly a rabbit, impossibly agile—

She suddenly whipped her head, and her long braid, like a nimble snake emerging from a cave, swiftly wrapped around Zhao Liuyun's neck.

As she strained her neck, Zhao Liuyun's breathing hitched. His hands instinctively went to untangle it, and immediately, Xiao Wu's now-unobstructed hand pressed down on his shoulder.

The hair naturally came undone. Using the leverage, she repeated the technique, swinging Zhao Liuyun up and launching him into the air in an arc.

"You lost!"

Xiao Wu played with her braid, her voice very crisp.

Wang Sheng and the others on the side were already dumbfounded.

It wasn't enough that a powerful Tang San had arrived; there was also the beautiful young girl Xiao Wu who defeated him in one move, and now there was another person who could exchange a couple of moves with Xiao Wu.

Why are the Work-Study Students so formidable this year?

After performing an extreme flip in the air and landing steadily, Zhao Liuyun deactivated his skill, clapped his hands, and conceded, "You're impressive."

He only had two hands; how could he block Xiao Wu's extra braid?

However, he hadn't intended to win anyway; he just wanted to show off his strength.

This wasn't meant to create enmity, and Xiao Wu had held back, so there was no need for him to be aggressive.

There was even less need to mention Hypnosis. He couldn't afford to expose it, not even a tiny flaw!

He still needed her and Tang San to deal with the Soul Masters in the academy.

Zhao Liuyun asked, "You're the boss here, but I still don't know your name?"

The little rabbit raised her head slightly: "My name is Xiao Wu."

"Then should I call you Boss Xiao Wu?"

"Pah! Shut up! That sounds terrible!" Xiao Wu spat, wrinkling her brow in distaste. "Let me think..."

A moment later, her eyes lit up, and she shouted proudly, "From now on, all of you must call me Sister Xiao Wu!"
