Chapter 110 - Winter Bloom. (18+)

Rain's POV:

The horse's hooves crunch through the snow, a steady, heavy thud that vibrates up through the leather and directly into my bones. We're climbing now, the trail winding through thick pines that smell of cold sap and winter. The trees are so dense they block out the sun, keeping us in this private, shadowed world.

"Where are we going?" I whisper. I can't help it; I push my back into him, needing the contact. He's like a wall of heat behind me. His arms are wrapped around my middle, his large hands steady on the reins, his knuckles occasionally brushing my ribs.

"Everything around us is private, Rain," he mumbles, his voice deep and rough against my ear. "The woods, the hills... it's all ours. There's a meadow just over this ridge I want you to see."

I look at the endless trees, the sheer scale of the land. "All of this is yours? What do you even do with a mountain, Danny?"
