I'm coming to you

Ren had always known he was different. At twelve years old, while other children learned to read or play, he learned how to slip between places—how to dissolve into the air and reappear wherever his heart pulled him. His power was secret, hidden even from those he trusted. Powers like his were never meant to be exposed.

One rainy evening, that secret carried him to a scene that would change everything.

Harit—sixteen, brave, stubborn, and unaware of any danger—was cornered by three older boys in a narrow alley behind the academy. Ren didn't know him, had only seen him from afar, but something inside Ren flared. Before fear could stop him, Ren traveled.

In a blink, he appeared behind the attackers. The wind shifted around his small figure, and a sudden force knocked the boys away. Ren moved too quickly to be seen; shadows and rain hid his presence. Harit only felt the rush of protection, the sensation of someone saving him.

When Harit looked up, no one stood there.

Only the echo of invisible footsteps fading into the storm.

**Years Passed.**

Harit never forgot the feeling of that mysterious rescue. He believed in the existence of a silent guardian. But as he grew older, he convinced himself that he had imagined it.

That was when Jun entered his life.

Handsome, clever, and charming on the outside—but hollow and calculating beneath. Jun acted sweet in front of Harit, pretending to care deeply. Harit, longing for the kindness he once felt from his unseen protector, mistook Jun's attention for something real.

Ren, now older and quietly living among them, watched from a distance. He knew nothing about Jun at first—only that Harit seemed to trust him. Ren didn't interfere. He didn't believe he had the right.

But Jun noticed Ren.

And Jun hated anyone who wasn't charmed by him.

Slowly, Jun started creating problems for Ren: twisted rumors, stolen belongings placed in Ren's bag, lies whispered softly into Harit's ears.

And Harit—trying so hard to be fair—defended Jun.

Ren took every wound silently… until the night he heard Jun speak the truth.

**The Cunning Plan**

Ren had traveled into the empty music hall by accident—his power sometimes responded to emotion rather than direction. There, he heard Jun's laughter echoing against the piano keys.

"Harit will believe anything I say," Jun bragged to a friend. "Once I get him completely under my thumb, I'll make sure Ren disappears from this school. He's always in the way."

Ren froze. Heat rose in his chest—fear, anger, heartbreak all tangled together. His secret, his life, the one person he admired from afar… all becoming targets because of Jun's greed.

For the first time, Ren made a choice not guided by instinct or fear.

He would reveal the truth.

---

**The Unmasking**

The confrontation happened in the courtyard, beneath lantern light. Jun accused Ren of yet another lie, confident Harit would take his side.

But Ren didn't run.

Instead, he took a breath. The air hummed around him. Then, before anyone could stop him—

Ren disappeared.

Gasps filled the courtyard.

And he reappeared behind Harit, the same way he had on that rainy night years ago.

Harit's eyes widened in shock, memories falling into place like shattered glass being restored.

"You…" Harit whispered. "It was you. All these years—Ren, you saved me."

Jun's face twisted in panic as his web of lies collapsed.

Harit turned on Jun with a fury none had ever seen. "You used me. You hurt him. You manipulated everything."

Jun fled. His game was over.

**Harit's Confession**

Later, Harit found Ren sitting alone on the academy rooftop, legs drawn to his chest, wind brushing through his hair.

Harit approached quietly and sat beside him.

"I'm sorry," he said softly. "I was blind. I should have seen you. I should have protected you like you protected me."

Ren didn't look at him. "I didn't save you so you would choose me. I saved you because I wanted you to live."

Harit swallowed. "I know. But… I choose you anyway."

Ren shook his head. "Not now. Maybe not ever. I need time to understand myself… my powers… everything."

Harit's chest ached, but he nodded.

"Then I'll wait," he whispered. "No matter how long it takes. Even if you travel to the ends of the world… I'll be here."

Ren finally looked at him—really looked—and in Harit's eyes he saw something steady, warm, patient.

It wasn't a demand.

It was a promise.

**And so their story began—**

Not with a confession returned,

but with a quiet bond,

a truth finally uncovered,

and a boy with the power to travel anywhere…

finding, for the first time,

someone worth returning to.
