Shujin, His whole life was like: "I'm finishing the wine and myself. I feel like there's a revolver to my temple."
All of that feeling was just locking him in a cage with no potential to grow. He wasn't normal, nor was he extraordinary. The word that fit him was "strange."
But because he had no potential to grow, he wasn't a danger to society.
That's why the events that would come soon would change him.
"God is death."
—Friedrich Nietzsche
It could be an explanation for what happened on 7/23/2027.
At that moment… no, at that event, something changed.
It was society—or maybe reality itself. It was the moment when the first "Gifted" and "Monsters" appeared.
And that's how the world we had known fell, due to our own incompetence.
After that event, most people turned into "Gifted". Their gifts were typical superpowers.
Well… Superpowers = Power
Power = Influence
Influence + Society = Control
Control = Chaos
Chaos + Society = Apocalypse
All of that apocalypse lasted only four months. Afterward, most countries had already normalized society, saving it.
But some did fall. These places are called "Zones."
All of those events were called "The Awakening."
And if that was called Awakening, the thing that happened to Shujin… was the Second Awakening.

(Note: He's… kinda strange.)
Shujin was on the train, traveling to work because his car was broken.
Nothing unusual happened
until he saw something in the sky. Was it a meteor? Or something else? Something fell from the sky and hit a tower.
A huge explosion followed, and a wave of energy touched everyone on the train. The entire train was thrown off its tracks, crashing to the ground.
About five minutes later, Shujin finally awakened. His head hurt.
He stood through the pain and tried to look around. Most of the other passengers had survived, but some had died.
Then he turned around and saw the city engulfed in flames and destruction. His stare remained unfazed.
And then he fell unconscious again.
When he woke this time, it wasn't in the train wreck. He was in a strange, dark room where the light seemed to carry its own depression.
He heard a voice:
"You've been chosen."
"What? Is this a dream? Or a joke?"
He looked around. There was nobody...just whispers in the shadows.
It was like a dead world.
He closed his eyes for just a second… and was back at the train crash.
And someone screamed:
"W-what the fuck are you doing!!"
The scream turned into agony.
A man, covered in blood, said:
"You looked down on me, bitch."
