Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Kim

Come on… come on…

Just a little more… YES—

I'm gonna do it! I'm finally going to beat Krankenstein!

I've been trying for weeks.

FINAL HIT—!

"AAAH DUDE! I WAS ABOUT TO BEAT HIM!"

…Never mind. Spikes.

The message on the lower-left corner mocks me, asking if I want to retry.

No.

I'd rather die.

"Kim! Watch your volume—and are you gaming AGAIN? Give that to me!"

I dug too deep into my game during this cursed philosophy class, and now I'm paying for it.

Handing over my console hurts, but what hurts more is failing the boss when he had two HP left.

Whatever, I've lived through worse.

I just hope I don't get another disciplinary warning.

One more and I'm getting expelled.

Not that expulsion sounds all that tragic.

School is just a year-long process of inefficiently teaching things I could learn in three days on my own.

It's not even good for socializing.

I have nothing in common with these people besides our birth year.

"Well played though! I'm free tonight—wanna sleep over?"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?"

I beam at David, but then the philosophy teacher cuts in—

"Kim!!! Tone down your voice! Final warning!"

"Sorry…"

David is different, though.

He's one of the only people here I actually respect.

He has world-record speedruns in indie games.

Not to brag, but so do I.

That's why we get along.

His sleepover invite is extremely tempting, but I'll answer after class.

If I act out now, I will get expelled.

Not that I care that much, but…

God, this class is painfully boring.

I'm getting… sleepy…

No, Kim.

If you sleep, you get written up…
