Gripping the gem in her hand the gem starts turning dark red until it shatters.
Taking a minute to recover from the noise, Aisling tries to pick up the pieces when she sees the stone losing its color and starts seeping into the floor.
She panics but tries to use magic to keep the liquid from going onto the floor.
That's when she hears screaming coming from outside losing her concentration completely, she goes to check outside the room. When Conri comes in grabbing Aisling 's hand yelling:" We got to go!"
"Are we under attack !?" Aisling asks getting pulled out of the house.
They get to the central walk way when a spider blocks there way.
"A Spider!?" Aisling thought.
"Not here!" Conri says as he drags Aisling towards the other side.
"Wait I can fight !" Aisling yells as she pulls her hand away from Conri's.
Earth spike ! She thought as an earth spike stabs the spider in the stomach.
To her surprise it doesn't move.
The spider screeches
"They are not the same as the ones in the forest!" Conri yells trying to grab Aisling's.
"What?" Aisling asks pulling away from Conri.
More spiders gather around them.
"Just run!" Conri yells finally grabbing Aisling towards the clear path.
They run towards another building that looks untouched from the spiders, Aisling feels something touches her ankle, she goes to swipe at it with her claws when she feels herself being pulled back.
"Crap!" Aisling thought as she feels herself slipping out of Conri's hand.
Conri feels Aisling's hand slip, "Ash!?"
Turning around both see a huge white spider, its red eyes pierce through the night as they see its fangs.
Aisling hears something coming towards them. "Is it more spiders?"
Then they both see something glisten and see a spear stabbed one of the spider's eyes
The spider screeched
"I still have it" A voice said.
"Gerard." Conri said running towards Aisling to get her away from the spider.
"He can fight?" Aisling thought getting up from the ground.
"Conri, Ash step back." Gerard said jumping in front of them.
"Let me try something Gerard." Aisling says as she readies herself.
"Are you up to it?" Gerard asks.
Earth cage! It only lasted for couple minutes until the spider jumped out of it.
Again! Aisling repeated that five times as Gerard and Conri watched.
The spider gets slower and slower as it gets trapped and breaks out of the cage.
"Good its tiring, Earth spike!" Its aimed at the spider's face, the spider tries to dodge but the spike still hits it sending it backwards.
"Now earth shackles!" Aisling says as the spider's legs are gripped by shackles made of earth.
"Gerard get ready!" Aisling yells glancing at Gerard.
"Huh?" Gerard asks as he was too fascinated by Aisling's magic to realize he was being called.
Fireball! She aimed at his spear.
"Whoa it's been a while!" Gerard remarks.
Gerard jumps up and stabs the spider's stomach and jumps off.
It screeches and draws its final breath.
"It is dead?" Everyone asks.
As Gerard goes it retrieve his spear more spiders gather around them.
A figure flashes by stabbing the spiders with a spear. Once all of the spiders were dead, you could make out a figure of a woman with ram horns.
"Capri!" Gerard said running towards Capri.
"Brother! Long time no see." Capri says patting her brother on his back.
"How about we get inside before more monsters show up." Conri says pointing towards a building behind them.
All right! Everyone said as they walked towards the building.
"Finally, some rest." Aisling thought as the entered the building.
Aisling tries to sneak away to check something with her status window when she hears a ringing in her ears. Then the ringing stops followed by an eerie silence, she looks around to see time stopped for everyone but her.
A voice pierces through the silence "No Tasks completed (0 of 2), since you are in another form we will give you another chance." "But fail this time and the penalty will be (redacted).
"This a different voice." Aisling thought.
"Now for the tasks, one of two, you will be sent back in time to keep the gem from scattering. Task two of two try to be more how you say more original in killing the monsters. Good luck <^^> The voice replies.
"Wait, what about the rewards and penalties?" Aisling asks the voice.
Oh right <^^u> …. Penalty for failing is to lose your halfling status and the reward is hum I don't know something upgraded?
"Huh?" Aisling asks.
"Oh, I know! To see through disguise/magic and such!
"Okay..?" Aisling replied, obviously confused.
"Anyway, good luck just remember this life is not a game ~ "The voice says as time goes backward placing Aisling back before the monster attack.
