Chapter 11 - Ch 11: Possession

Chapter 11 – Possession

The Gorath charged, claws tearing into the floor, red eyes locked on Rex.

Rex stepped back, breath sharp.

He knew he couldn't dodge forever.

He whispered:

"... Stop Motion."

A violet wave rippled across his body.

His blond hair turned violet, his blue eyes shifted to amethyst.

The world around him slowed instantly.

The Gorath, normally fast, moved as if trapped in thick mud.

Rex dodged the first strike.

Then the second.

Then the third.

But he could feel it.

Stop Motion wouldn't last.

The monster smashed the wall, crushing it like paper.

Rex clenched his teeth.

"I need… an opening…"

But there was none.

The Gorath raised its arm to strike.

Rex's heart pounded.

He had no choice.

He shouted:

"SPLIT!"

A burst of green light exploded inside his mind.

Rex felt his body freeze.

Then… he slipped out of himself.

As if his soul had been pulled from his chest.

He fell backward—

but his body stayed standing.

Rex looked around, panicked.

He had no body.

He was… a phantom.

And in front of him, inside HIS body…

Someone opened their eyes.

The violet hair turned black, deep and glossy.

The amethyst eyes shifted to bright green, glowing like emeralds.

The posture changed.

A smile appeared.

A wide smile.

Cold.

Unsettling.

Raphaël lifted his head.

"… Finally."

Rex, as a phantom, stepped back.

"That's… you?"

Raphaël turned toward him.

"Yes. I'm Raphaël. And… let's say I'm kind of like your older brother."

Rex stared silently.

Raphaël's smile widened.

"We'll talk later. Right now, I need to have some fun."

The Gorath swung.

Raphaël didn't move.

He simply tilted his head.

The blow missed by centimeters.

"Too slow."

His voice was soft.

But icy.

He grabbed the electric baton.

He walked forward.

Not running.

Not dodging.

Walking.

The Gorath roared and charged.

Raphaël laughed.

"Perfect."

He slid under its arm, drove the baton into its throat, and dragged it upward, carving a burning line across its chest.

The Gorath staggered.

Raphaël leapt, struck the back of its neck.

The monster dropped to its knees.

Rex, watching as a ghost, was stunned.

"He… he's smiling?"

Raphaël licked his lips.

"I love fighting."

The Gorath rose again, furious.

Raphaël sighed.

"Fine. Let's speed things up."

Raphaël whispered:

"Mental Overdrive."

A scarlet‑pink light burst across the body.

The black hair turned scarlet pink.

The green eyes became purple, glowing like fire.

Rex stared in awe.

"That's… incredible…"

Raphaël grinned.

"Three minutes. More than enough."

The Gorath charged.

Raphaël vanished.

He reappeared behind it.

A strike to the spine.

Another to the jaw.

A third to the heart.

The monster collapsed.

Raphaël placed a hand on its head.

"You never should've existed."

He smashed its skull into the floor.

Silence.

Overdrive faded.

Raphaël felt the mental exhaustion.

A wave of dizziness.

A heavy weight.

He released the body.

The hair turned blond again.

The eyes turned blue.

Rex collapsed to his knees, gasping.

"That was… you?"

Raphaël appeared beside him as a phantom.

"Yes. And I'll always be here for you."

Rex smiled weakly.

"Thanks…"

Raphaël looked away.

"Don't thank me yet. We're not out of danger."
