I woke up to this thick silence that felt like something only money could buy...so quiet, with just the faint sounds of the city far below and the soft swish of silk sheets against my skin.

My head? It felt like someone stuffed it with cotton and then let a marching band loose on it. For a moment, I had no clue where I was. The bed was huge, a massive expanse of charcoal-gray silk that smelled a bit like cedar and warmth, definitely inviting enough to give my omega instincts a little sigh of contentment.

Well, that was long gone. My hair looked like it had been through a windstorm, and I could feel the remnants of last night's eyeliner smudged beneath my eyes.
