Chapter 3 - Bestowed a name

The handsome angels words slice through the ivory hive like a blade, expressions of pure shock rippling across the legion of pale angels as they cry and shout their disapproval towards the authoritative angel, who was rubbing his temple with exhaustion written over his features as he utters.

"Every time…why must you all be so sentient?"

The young mans jaw dropped, his eyes wide with fear and horror at the realisation that his very existence is to fight, fight and fight even more. Glancing shakily at the young woman beside him, he saw the poor girl's eyes fill with another round of tears, pouring down her soft cheeks as she cries out.

"W-Why…t-this can't be real…no…it simply cannot!"

Despite being filled with despair, the young mans mind let a thought slither into his angelic mind.

'I wonder…why do we feel such a strong will to live…why– '

Before further developing his mysterious thought, his mind was interrupted by that pleasing yet ruthless voice which sounded slightly more desperate this time.

"Stop whining! You have no choice in this matter!"

As he shook his head, he continued

"Anyways…once you've stopped crying, walk through the doors to my left to receive your names."

With a grin spreading across his face, the handsome angel chuckles and raises a pale, slender hand.

"After all, we want our angels to have some sense of identity—something that you wont regret..."

And with that, the handsome angel vanished in a blink, without even saying his name or revealing the mystery that surrounds the authoritative angel. Who exactly was the enigma? why did he seem so used to the cries that emitted from the despair-filled angels? Was any of this even real?

With a self-inflicted slap on the cheek the young man snapped out of his daze—deciding that he will further think about the topic once he had more time to reflect. Glancing at the sobbing young woman beside him, he gave her the best smile of encouragement he could muster up, before looking at the large doors, walking towards them with determination.

The young man was about to receive a name.
