Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Raid

While chatting, Amanai Riko insisted on returning to school for class, to spend the last period of time with her friends.

Mukyoku Nagi and the others, following Tengen's instructions to satisfy any of Amanai Riko's requests, patrolled the perimeter of the school to guard against attacks from Curse Users, so as not to disturb her final school life.

They were divided into two groups: Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru in one group, Mukyoku Nagi and Kuroi Misato in the other.

Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru were responsible for the north school building, while Mukyoku Nagi and Kuroi Misato patrolled the south playground and garden area. The afternoon sun cast dappled light and shadow through the branches and leaves of the cherry blossom trees. The faint laughter and reading sounds of students echoed on campus, so calm it almost made one forget the lurking danger.

"Miss Kuroi, how long have you known Miss Amanai?" Walking on the tree-lined path, Mukyoku Nagi suddenly spoke, breaking the silence between them.

"Ah? Let me think..." Kuroi Misato was slightly startled, fingers curling unconsciously. "I can't remember clearly how long I've lived with Young Miss."

Kuroi sighed: "When Young Miss was very young, her parents passed away due to an accident. Since then, I have been taking care of Young Miss's daily life."

"Then Miss Kuroi is truly amazing, able to let Miss Amanai grow up with such a healthy mentality."

"No no, Young Miss is excellent herself." Kuroi waved her hands hurriedly, but the roots of her ears turned slightly red.

After speaking, she couldn't help falling into memories. A trace of a warm smile unconsciously rose at the corner of her mouth, but that smile soon dissipated, turning into unconcealable pain. Mukyoku Nagi watched silently.

"I really... hope Young Miss can grow up safely." Kuroi Misato's voice began to tremble, carrying uncontrollable sobbing. "I really want her to continue growing up, make more friends in the future, encounter more interesting things... go see the sea, go climb mountains, fall in love..." She choked up, trying hard to maintain a steady tone. "I know this is inappropriate. As a maid serving the Star Plasma Vessel, I shouldn't have such thoughts... but I... really... really..."

Kuroi Misato covered her mouth, suppressing emotions that were about to burst, shoulders trembling slightly, fingernails digging deeply into her palms.

A tear slid from the corner of her eye, refracting a crystalline luster under the afternoon sun, then smashed onto the ground, and also smashed into Mukyoku Nagi's already restless heart.

*Seeing that tear, what did you think of?*

*Mukyoku Nagi.*

While asking himself, he didn't notice his fist was already clenched deadly tight, knuckles protruding white, trembling slightly. A cold anger mixed with indescribable restlessness spread silently in his chest.

Lost in thought, communication came from Geto Suguru.

"Nagi, go find Riko quickly, two of my Cursed Spirits were exorcised."

"Received."

Mukyoku Nagi turned to Kuroi Misato, extending his hand, voice calm but unquestionable: "Let's go, let's protect Riko."

Kuroi quickly wiped away tears, gaze becoming firm again: "Mm!"

.........................................

After both sides met at the school gate, they rushed into the teaching building without hesitation, exchanging intelligence while sprinting.

"Where is Amanai at this time?"

"This time is music class, either in the music room or the chapel."

"Why is there a chapel?"

"Because this is a mission school..."

"Yosh, then one team go to the music room, one team go to the chapel."

"Miss Kuroi, you go with Suguru to the music room. Satoru go to the chapel. Leave enemies to me!"

After speaking, Mukyoku Nagi activated his Vermilion Eyes, searching for enemies.

"Understood!"

After speaking, everyone split up.

With the boost of Vermilion Eyes, Mukyoku Nagi soon discovered the enemy, an old man.

Without a shred of hesitation, Mukyoku Nagi's figure moved instantly. The force field of "Fast" wrapped around him, resistance dropping to the minimum in an instant, allowing him to appear directly behind the old man like a ghost.

*'So fast!'*

The old man—Curse User Murata Kenjiro was shocked in his heart, almost too late to react.

**Black Flash: Zetsu!**

Mukyoku Nagi's fist wrapped in ominous black lightning tore through the air, blasting straight at the opponent's face! Murata Kenjiro's survival instinct exploded, throwing out all the charms in his arms, roaring to summon a large number of Shikigami to block in front—three dog-shaped Shikigami roared and pounced, two bird Shikigami dived from the air, and a giant bear Shikigami beat its chest blocking at the very front!

**Technique Lapse: Slow!**

Vermilion light shone brightly in Mukyoku Nagi's eyes. An invisible huge resistance field instantly shrouded the pouncing Shikigami group. At this distance, the Shikigami were like falling into a swamp, movements becoming extremely slow and laborious, completely becoming live targets!

Mukyoku Nagi's Black Flash momentum didn't diminish, smashing into the Shikigami group with a bang!

*Boom!!*

Black flash exploded, blasting away all Shikigami instantly like destroying dry weeds and rotten wood! The violent impact sent Murata Kenjiro flying fiercely!

Mukyoku Nagi raised his hand and waved. The force field of "Slow" acted again, forcibly stopping Murata Kenjiro's backward flying momentum, making him crash heavily onto the floor. Before the opponent could react, he backhanded four "Congeal" shots, accurately hitting Murata Kenjiro's hands and feet, precisely pinning his limbs to the ground, as if firmly fixed by invisible nails.

"Speak,"

Mukyoku Nagi stepped on Murata Kenjiro's chest, looking down at him condescendingly. He raised his other hand. Above the palm, a twisted, transparent, constantly changing special force field rotated slowly, emitting heart-palpitating fluctuations. "Who sent you."

His voice was calm, but carried bone-piercing chill.

"Jujutsu Disclosure: My Limitless Technique's ability is to manipulate resistance. The technique in my hand now is 'Yin-Yang Flow,' a combination of Technique Lapse and Reversal. The effect is a superimposed state where 'Slow' and 'Fast' exist simultaneously, and can instantly switch the force received by the target. Used to disrupt enemy attack rhythm, movement coordination, and even cause body imbalance or Cursed Energy flow disorder."

Mukyoku Nagi's tone had no fluctuation, like stating an objective fact, while Murata Kenjiro's pupils contracted sharply from fear.

"Under my control, I can also use different intensities of 'Slow' to create resistance differences, directly tearing the target's internal structure. Combined with the Technique Disclosure just now, the power will be further enhanced. There is a high probability you won't die immediately," he paused, adding, "It will just be very painful. Although I'm not skilled in this precise usage yet, but..."

Mukyoku Nagi's incomparably honest explanation was no different from a demon's whisper to Murata Kenjiro.

"Stop! Stop! Stop! I'll talk! Old man, I'll talk about everything!" He screamed hoarsely, psychological defense line completely collapsed.

Mukyoku Nagi lowered his eyes, no waves in his vermilion pupils.

Today, no matter who comes, no matter how many come—no one thinks about touching that girl.
