Chapter 17 - Run Away Groom

It has been five minutes since I have been reasoning how to respond to the bullshit the princess told me. I really have to find a way to chase her back, yeah, that would be better. I'll act rude and make her angry. "Whatever bitch, how much you gonna pay?" I said like I didn't care.

"Oh, we came here with two tons of gold and you can have all the chariots here and I can tell dad to get you more," she said with naive vibes.

Wait... Did she just say two tons of gold? No, I can't send her home, and I can't marry her either (Why not?). It's weird, you know, a woman. Maybe I should say yes, take only the gold and the chariots, then I'll make her hate me and change her mind.

I agreed to it, but I gave her a condition. I told her that she would have to send her dad a message to send the Blue Moon...

...Sect fifty Masters, warfare materials, professional engineers for building, teachers and monks. And she surprisingly agreed!

I was about to ask for a bunch of other things when a messenger ran in to tell me some important news. The messenger said that Minister Chen-Ma was enforcing his power at the village well side when a villager fought with him and cut off his two arms.

The heck, that's not possible! Chen-Ma beat up all the strongest people in the Academy alone, so how would a villager who does not go to the Academy beat him to the point of cutting off his arms?

I went to find the villager, but it would be hard since he was from an inferior clan. I was meant to find him and punish him for amputating a Minister, but for him to be strong enough, he would be useful. After a long time, I was finally able to trace...

...the person to an inferior clan called the "Lu clan". Wait, I never even thought of tracing myself back to my clan. Maybe I could even find my parents and have a family.

I got to the Lu clan court and it looked prettier than a normal inferior clan's court. I went in expecting everyone to bow down to me like other inferior sect members, but they just continued with what they were doing. The most confusing part was that they could read and write fluent Chinese that even higher clan's men could not do.

I looked around and asked someone to direct me to Lu-Min, but instead of following me, he told me that I would find Lu-Min close to the blue blossom tree, so now I have to look for a tree!!

I kept looking and finally found it. How could a clan be this big? I went closer to the tree and saw that it was close to a valley where sheep were grazing, and a shepherd was with them. Don't tell me it was...

...a shepherd that defeated Chen-Ma! I approached and asked him if he was Lu-Min. He said yes and asked me who I was. There was no way this guy defeated Chen-Ma; he has such a naive voice and looks seventeen (You're eighteen, what's the difference?).

"I am not naive nor seventeen," he said with a gloomy look on his face. Wait, did he just read my mind?

"No, I did not read your mind," he said again.

What the heck, is this guy a demon?

"No, how would you think I'm a demon?" he said again.

What the heck is he doing? You know what, I'm gonna think of something nasty...

"Keep your nasty thoughts to yourself," he said.

I asked him how he read my mind, but he just said that this always happens with people so he's used to guessing what they are thinking. He then asked me if I was a minister that was sent to arrest him for what he did to Chen-Ma. I explained to him that I was...

...the Lord and that I am not here to punish him, but he didn't look surprised.

I asked him why he wasn't surprised to see me here, then he said it was because he knows I am from the Lu clan and I would come here sooner or later, and that I would need his strength, so punishing him would be a waste of time. Wow, he thinks highly of me.

"Stop smirking, you evil bastard," he said boldly.

Did he just call me a bastard? I calmed myself and asked him why he would call such a kind lord a bastard (Kind, ha!!).

"Actually, you've improved the sect and helped it in all aspects, and you still don't steal the sect's resources," he said. Exactly, a good lord is what I've always been... "But you look like a person who could sell your people" (Ha ha!, he read you like a book).

"Enough chatting." I asked him how he was so strong to the point of defeating Chen-Ma, who is a Stage 3 sword technique, then he told me...

Page 6

...about something called the Lu-Blade Technique, passed down from the ancestors of the Lu clan for generations.

The only reason why he told me this was because I am a member of the Lu clan. I told him to teach me the technique, but he said only on one condition... I do his domestic work with him.

You got to be kidding me! At least it's better than being with the princess in the court.
