Chapter 1 - Triggered

Jay Jay's POV.

"Where did Yuri go?"

"Umm… he was here a second ago," Drew replied.

There he was, stabbed, blood trailing off him. I froze; my breath grew rapid as I clutched my chest.

"Jay, are you okay?" Drew asked with worry.

I gasped for breath. Tears started falling. No, Jay, stop crying, you're not going to sit here and do nothing.

No. I am not letting anyone hurt my family. Not again.

Then I felt a familiar presence hovering over me.

Keifer's pov.

There she was – my everything, my heart, my love, my world – kneeling on the ground. Her trauma was back, stronger than ever, like a storm that would not stop. I rushed to her and covered her with my jacket.

"Get away from me! Go away!" she screamed, tears streaming down her face, but her eyes looked fierce and determined.

"It's okay. You're safe," I kept reassuring her.

We brought her inside Drew's house. Drew was in some big trouble, but I never expected his gambling problem to be this bad. I spotted a girl and a woman; her hair was messy and she looked older, but her smile reminded me of a kind of happy I never had. The place felt quiet and cold. I knew her trauma had returned, but she was not alone. I would always be with her. I would always be with my Jay.

"Go get some help," I said to Drew. "Call Angelo and the rest of Section E. Check on Yuri. Get my phone, it's in my car. I'll call my personal doctor to check both of them." He left my side. "I love you, Jay, till scientists find the end of the universe."
