As they stand before the portal, the entire area sinks into silence.
Kaneki whispers, "Are they really going back?"
Suko nods. "Yeah. This is how it's supposed to be."
Axel stretches lazily. "Heh. Was fun while it lasted though."
Mira looks at Suko. "So this is where our path ends."
Suko raises his hand. Reality tightens like a pulled thread, and an interdimensional gate opens.
"Everything is returning to where it belongs."
Light shatters.
As Axel and Mira are pulled toward the portal, Axel shouts, "No escape, huh? We'll run into each other again!"
Suko clicks his tongue. "Definitely."
In an instant, the portals close.
The area grows calm again.
Only Suko and Kaneki remain.
Kaneki looks around. "So… what now?"
Suko starts walking. "We go back to normal life."
He takes a step, then stops.
"For now."
Reality bends, and school hallways appear.
A system voice passes through like a muffled whisper:
Return to the main universe complete.
Kaneki exhales. "After all that, the fact we still have exams is kinda funny."
Suko doesn't even smile. "Destroy universes, still miss class. That's fate."
As they walk toward the classroom, a brief flash of light appears in Suko's eye.
He mutters to himself:
"This is just the silence between events."
