Chapter 16 - The Rewards

[Eleanor has an adopted daughter, Allistar's biological sister]

'...'

Kael remained silent for a few seconds before reacting. 'She adopted Allistar's sister and Allistar himself. What does that mean? Is she a relative of the protagonist? Or a friend of his mother's?'

He couldn't understand this complicated mess. At first, he thought Allistar and Eleanor were mother and son, then he thought it was just an adoption relationship, and now he didn't know if they were actually related by blood, but not directly as mother and son.

"Ah, it doesn't matter, I'll find out soon," he muttered, shaking his head.

'Rather, I should think about the protagonist's sister. It could certainly be beneficial to have her on my side,' he thought, now nodding continuously.

'However, this sister was never mentioned in the original novel. That means she died, or perhaps, since the novel had an open ending with a clear intention for a sequel, maybe the protagonist's sister would appear in that sequel.'

Thinking about all this, Kael felt a headache coming on. 'Dealing with so many women, between conquering some and keeping others, he admired those protagonists in novels who can maintain their harem without any worries.'

Sighing, Kael felt that he still had a long way to go to be a protagonist like those in the novels he read: he had looks, status, and a system, but he had no power.

Thinking about this, Kael's dejected expression soon turned serious.

"Eleanor, come out," he called directly, without using his soft tone from before.

Once again, a figure instantly materialised in front of Kael.

"I'll be direct. I have six days to train my fighting strength and defeat my sister in a duel. You are currently my best option for training, so I hope you will help me."

Before Eleanor could speak, Kael blurted everything out at once, leaving her speechless.

After recovering from her embarrassment, Eleanor originally planned to act as if nothing had happened.

So, seeing that Kael was also acting as if nothing had happened, after her initial surprise, she quickly cooperated.

"I can help you train, but why me? The Virkninges must have several master swordsmen and magicians, or even other specialists," Eleanor asked Kael directly about his intentions.

He responded with extreme sincerity and innocence. "I think you can see that my current position is not very good, especially with what they are poisoning me with. You don't know if some of our teachers are conspiring against me. Someone like you, whom I already have some familiarity with, is a better option."

Kael's words conveyed the utmost honesty, and even he was surprised by his own great performance.

'II should have devoted myself to acting in my previous life,' he thought, somewhat regretfully.

Eleanor, hearing Kael's sincere words and tone, nodded in agreement. "Okay, then I'll help you," she confirmed.

At that moment, Kael almost let out a mocking smile. 'I don't know what she would think of me if she found out I was doing this to get closer to her.'

However, despite this thought, the words he said to Eleanor were not entirely untrue.

He could ask his family's Masters for help, yes, but were the Virkninges a peaceful family?

No!

They are a family of warriors in the Vaylon Kingdom, a kingdom specialising in combat.

The Virkninges, as a large family, have multiple family branches, with his father being the most powerful, positioned just below the royal rank.

However, the other family branches are not far behind, with Masters in the initial stage at their disposal. They cannot compare to his father, but their power was by no means weak.

And, thinking that it was still unknown how a member of the Tayron family had entered without his father noticing, there were still doubts as to whether these teachers had helped, becoming traitors.

"Upon their death, their respective families, with heirs, will be able to inherit the main position of head of the family," he concluded.

At this moment, Kael understood very well: in this world, he could not only enjoy the beauties; now he could only become stronger to challenge fate.

...

Without realising it, Kael was already with Eleanor in the personal training camp, her personalised training yard in a somewhat secluded place away from the village.

"Okay, let's begin," Eleanor said, turning to look at Kael.

At that moment, she was wearing a battle suit tailor-made for her. It was neither too heavy nor too light, covering the most important areas such as the chest, forearms, and shoulders.

With a sword in her hands, she seemed like a completely different person.

"So this is what the aura of a Great Swordsman is like," he thought, witnessing firsthand the aura emanating from Eleanor right now.

"System, claim the rewards: S-Rank Skill and Evolutionary Item."

[The host has claimed two rewards.

S-Rank Skill: Ordinary World.

Evolutionary Item: The host must choose what kind of item they want.]

Hearing the system's voice in his mind, Kael felt a certain surprise. 'Wow, you also let me choose what kind of item I want, this is unexpected.'

'And that skill, Ordinary World, I've never heard of it in the novel.'

Kael took a few seconds to think about what decision to make, before finally making a decision: 'System, I want an offensive item.'

[The class chosen by the host has been detected.

Offensive class.

Evolutionary item obtained: Incorrect Sentence]

"???"

Kael was disconnected. "What do you mean, Incorrect Sentence? Would it forgive the enemies it kills or what?"

He couldn't understand, so he quickly asked to see its description.

[Incorrect Sentence: Two weapons that wield the user's will to enhance attack power. Incorrect Sentence is a double weapon forged by the 13 Demon Gods and wielded by the Primordial Demon himself. Its unique ability is the total annihilation of any life that touches its blade.]
