Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Silas Parker

"Hurry, hurry! Boys! You're going to be late!" shouted a middle-aged man with gray hair and an ordinary appearance.

"Got it, Uncle!" Peter Parker quickly pulled on his jacket while running down the stairs and then took his seat at the dining table.

Ben Parker straightened Peter's collar. "Where's that rascal Silas?"

"I don't know, he's probably still... asleep..." Peter was talking at the same time he was choked by a piece of toast. He quickly patted his chest and then took a gulp of milk.

"Still asleep? That little stinker!" Ben Parker climbed the stairs, holding the handrail. "Silas!"

In the Room

"Huh? I think someone's calling me?" Silas Parker sat up and rubbed his sleepy eyes.

This was his sixteenth year in this world. He had become the younger brother of Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and was living in Ben Parker's house.

As a Transmigrator, he knew the plot very well. It wouldn't be long before Peter Parker would become the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

And Ben Parker would die in an accident, teaching Peter Parker the final lesson: With great power comes great responsibility.

But now that he was here, Ben Parker would absolutely not die!

Silas was not a cold-blooded person. After all, Ben Parker had raised him for over ten years, and now it was time to repay him.

As for his reliance to save Ben Parker, that would be the Talisman System!

A year ago, after the system activated, it gave him a starter pack and issued a main quest.

Main Quest: Steal the Reactor and Activate the System.

Otherwise, the system couldn't be fully activated, and in this Marvel Universe, it would be very difficult to survive without a cheat or power-up.

Especially with the purple titan's snap; he didn't want to leave his life up to luck!

After opening the starter pack, Silas gained the power to control the Shadowkhan Kingdom, and a black tattoo appeared on his body.

However, he had tried, and currently, he could only summon a maximum of ten Shadowkhan Ninjas. He couldn't even manage to cross space right now; there seemed to be certain limitations.

The door opened, and Ben Parker walked in, pulling back Silas's blanket. "Get up quickly, or you'll be late, Silas."

"Oh! Right away!" Silas quickly reacted, hurriedly put on his clothes, and went to wash up.

After washing up, Silas immediately went downstairs and saw a ravenous Peter. "Hey Peter, you didn't even wake me up when you got up."

"I did call you, but you were clearly still dreaming," Peter said, having finished his breakfast. Aunt May then brought over two school bags.

After exchanging a few words, Peter grabbed his school bag and was ready to leave for school.

"Hey! Wait up!" Silas grabbed a piece of toast, bit down on it, took the school bag from Aunt May, and chased after him.

"Slow down! Don't you want to drink some milk..." Aunt May hadn't finished speaking before the two boys closed the door.

Aunt May shook her head helplessly. Ben Parker came down from upstairs.

"Are they both gone?" Ben Parker asked, seeing that the two boys were nowhere in sight.

"Yes, but that boy Silas didn't even get to drink his milk," Aunt May worried.

Ben Parker walked up to Aunt May, put his arm around her shoulder, and kissed her forehead. "It's fine. It's not the first or second time this has happened to him."

"I'm worried he'll choke," Aunt May sighed.

"It's nothing," Ben Parker let go of her, sat down at the table, and picked up the newspaper. "Perfect, I'll drink the milk."

On the Road

"Hey! Why are you rushing so much?" Silas grabbed Peter Parker.

Peter was speechless. "Silas, I think if we don't hurry, we'll be late."

"Relax, relax. Based on my many years of experience, we absolutely won't be late at this time," Silas said confidently.

At School

"I didn't expect you to be late too, Peter, the bookworm?" The teacher, Mr. Gedrick, adjusted his glasses and spoke with some surprise.

"Yes, I'm late," Peter said, feeling flustered.

However, Mr. Gedrick didn't make things difficult for Peter. After all, it was Peter's first time being late, and he was an excellent student.

"Don't let it happen again," Mr. Gedrick told Peter to take his seat.

"Hey, I didn't think a good student like you would ever be late," Ned Leeds said, as if he'd discovered a new continent.

Ned Leeds was Peter Parker's best friend, a plump, dark-skinned guy.

"It's all Silas's fault. I believed him when he said we wouldn't be late," Peter put away his school bag. He didn't want to be late either; how could he have been if he hadn't believed Silas?

"Silas? Unbelievable. He's the famous Late King. You still believe him? Haha~" Ned couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"That student, do you have a problem with my class?" Mr. Gedrick's sharp eyes fixed on Ned Leeds.

Ned quickly covered his mouth and shook his head.

In the Other Classroom

"Very good, Silas. You're only one minute late this time." The teacher, Ms. Claine, looked at her watch, her expression carrying a hint of relief.

Silas shrugged helplessly. He hadn't expected to miscalculate the time. Did that mean Peter was also late?

"Come in," Ms. Claine was accustomed to Silas's tardiness. This was, in fact, Silas's personal best record.

Silas immediately went to his seat. Just as he sat down, Misty Barron from behind poked him with a pen.

Silas turned his head in confusion. "What is it?"

"Not bad, only one minute late this time~" Misty Barron smiled.

Misty Barron was a beautiful, youthful white woman, known for her devilish figure. She was the object of affection for many people.

"Alas~ Too bad I miscalculated by one step~" Silas said, leaning back in his chair.

Soon, the day of studying was over.

Misty propped her head on her hand and whispered into Silas's ear, "It's the weekend tomorrow. Want to hang out together?"

"Do what?" Silas was interested in the idea of having fun. He wasn't like Peter Parker, who only focused on studying.

Misty played with a lock of her flaxen hair. "Let's go to the amusement park. My treat!"

"Sounds good. What time?" Silas had no reason to refuse.

Silas knew from Misty that her father was in real estate; simply put, they weren't short on money.

"Hmm~ Ten in the morning, let's meet at the park. We can play until the evening and then go back," Misty thought for a moment before replying.

Silas gave an OK gesture. "Don't worry, I'll be on time."

"Really? You're famous for being the Late King." Misty had already prepared for Silas to be late.

"This is different!" Silas picked up his school bag and stood up. "Just wait. I'll be there right on time!"

He then left the classroom with his school bag.

"I'll be waiting!" Misty called out to Silas's retreating back.

School Hallway

"Hey! Sorry, Peter the bookworm!" Flash Thompson and a few friends were messing around in the corridor and accidentally bumped into Peter, but Flash left without showing any sign of apology.

"They're really annoying, aren't they?" Ned nudged Peter Parker with his elbow.

Peter Parker nodded helplessly. This guy, Flash Thompson, and he hadn't gotten along for a long time.

But there was nothing he could do, as he couldn't beat him up.

"Peter, you're here!" Silas saw Peter Parker in the crowd and ran over.

Ned greeted him. "Hey~ Silas, don't you have any club activities?"

"Nope. I don't really like club activities, so I didn't join any," Silas didn't want any troublesome commitments.

"I heard you were late this morning, Peter," Silas said, putting his arm around Peter's shoulder and smiling.

Peter angrily slapped Silas's hand away. "If I hadn't listened to you this morning, I wouldn't have been late."

"Don't be angry. It was just a mistake this time," Silas felt a little embarrassed about it.

Silas had pulled Peter into an all-nighter the night before, which resulted in them being late this morning.

"Peter, what are your plans for the weekend?" Ned asked Peter.

"The usual, staying at home," Peter didn't have many close friends at school, just his best friend, Ned Leeds.

Ned smiled and raised an eyebrow. "How about we go see the robotics exhibition tomorrow? I heard there are some exciting new things there."

"That sounds alright," Peter turned to Silas. "Are you coming, Silas?"

"I'll pass. I already have a date," Silas wouldn't give up a beautiful girl to go look at machinery with two big guys.

As the three walked across the lawn, a baseball flew towards them. Just as it was about to hit Peter, Silas, with quick reflexes, reached out his right hand towards the baseball.
