Chapter 168: The Furious Stark
Kha'Zix roared defiantly at the dark area. Although it couldn't defeat the creature lurking there, it wasn't afraid of it.
"Alright, Kha'Zix, calm down. You can't beat him, why do you keep provoking him?" Silas said helplessly. It was just like that fool Big Black, who kept intentionally provoking Little Black even though he couldn't win, and now Big Black had died countless times.
Kha'Zix tossed its head in defiance, then sat down and floated in the Shadow Realm space. Since they were all Silas's subordinates, everyone wanted to be number one, as only the first one would receive Silas's attention.
"Sigh~ They're all so much trouble." Silas shook his head and sat down in his reclining chair.
"Master, here is your juice," Little Black said softly, bringing a glass of juice to Silas's side.
Silas smiled, took the cup, and said, "Little Black, you're the one I worry about the least. How is the experiment coming along?"
"It is ready to be injected into normal people, but because some dark magic was added later, the success rate can only reach three percent, or even lower."
Little Black's tone was disappointed. He felt he had let his master down. The success rate had been sixty percent, but now, with the addition of magic, the success rate was so low.
"It's fine. We can slowly improve it later. Don't worry too much," Silas, seeing Little Black's concern, spoke to comfort him. Little Black was his capable assistant, so he certainly needed comfort. If it were that idiot Big Black, he would just let him deal with it himself. Given Big Black's foolishness, he would be back to being silly in a few minutes anyway.
"Yes," Little Black said. "Currently, we only have five Dragon Warriors."
"Only five?" Silas fell into contemplation.
Dragon Warriors were the gene-enhanced soldiers they developed, combining the Extremis virus, dark magic, and the most crucial element, the Shadow Dragons. Shadow Dragons were the creatures constantly wandering in the Shadow Realm. They were actually a type of Shadowkhan, but they couldn't leave the Shadow Realm. The emergence of the gene-enhanced warriors changed this, allowing them to attach to the gene warriors and leave the Shadow Realm. Gene warriors, after fusing with the Dragon Shadows, were referred to by Silas as Dragon Warriors. A Dragon Warrior's body could accommodate up to one hundred Dragon Shadows.
"I originally wanted to create at least one hundred Dragon Warriors, but now we have only achieved five percent," Little Black said, sounding a little awkward.
Silas waved his hand dismissively and said, "I told you it's not important. It's time to send Peter back."
"Yes." Little Black quickly called four or five Black Shadow Ninjas to send Peter out. Silas also followed the Black Shadow Ninjas out of the Shadow Realm and returned to his own bedroom. Everything that happened today was too dangerous. Peter was only able to stop the train because of a temporary burst of power; otherwise, the current Peter couldn't have stopped it. Peter was still in high school; his physical fitness hadn't peaked, and he hadn't undergone long-term, continuous combat to increase his physical strength.
"He pushed himself too hard," Silas lamented. He personally couldn't do what Peter did, choosing to pull the train for the sake of everyone else. To him, staying alive was more important than anything.
Beep! Beep! At that moment, the alarm clock by the bed went off. Silas gently jumped backward, landing on the bed, and turned off the alarm. "It's already eleven o'clock."
Knock knock knock! There was a knock on Silas's door.
"Come in!" Silas shouted.
Click!
Ben Parker pushed the door open and said, "Silas, it's so late. Aren't you going to take a shower?"
"I was writing a report earlier, and I couldn't get my thoughts together, so I spent some time thinking. That caused the delay," Silas said, pointing to the report on the desk. The report on the desk was the one he had left when he went to save Peter. He suddenly remembered that he still hadn't finished his report!
"I see. Then I'll go call Peter next door. What's with you two brothers today? Did you agree not to shower together?" Ben Parker smiled teasingly, preparing to go next door for Peter.
Seeing this, Silas quickly shouted, "No need! Peter already showered. He was already asleep when I went over."
"Already showered?" Ben Parker looked confused. "But I didn't see him go to the bathroom?"
"Maybe you were too focused on watching TV, Uncle Ben," Silas offered an excuse.
"Is that so?" Ben Parker was a little perplexed. Maybe that was the case. "Well, remember to take a shower then. Good night, Silas." Ben Parker turned and left.
"Good night, Uncle Ben!" Silas called out after Ben Parker.
Ben Parker's last words reminded Silas that Peter hadn't showered yet! He had been moving around in his tight suit all night, and then pulled a train. His body was covered in sweat and dust.
"Black Shadow Ninjas, take Peter to shower," Silas had no choice but to order the Black Shadow Ninjas to take Peter for a shower. As for himself, Silas dutifully sat back down at his desk, tapped his pen against his head, and continued writing the headache-inducing report.
The Hospital
"How are you feeling?" Tony stood beside Happy, his expression somewhat grim. Even though Peter rescued Happy at the critical moment, Happy was just an ordinary person. The shockwave from the explosion at such close range nearly shattered his internal organs. However, he was certainly better off than his movie counterpart, as he was at least conscious.
"I'm fine, boss. I just might not be able to drive for you for a while," Happy said weakly. Every time he spoke, he felt a knife-like pain in his chest.
"Don't worry. I wouldn't force an injured person to drive for me. You should rest well first, or I might have to fire you," Tony teased, forcing a smile.
Happy didn't say anything but slowly closed his eyes. From what he knew of Tony, he understood that Tony was furious.
Tony left once he saw Happy resting. He remembered the person Happy mentioned before the incident: Killian!
"Everyone put on ID badges. My friend takes this seriously. If you're not one of my people, he won't let you in," Tony said as he left.
As soon as he stepped out of the hospital gate, a swarm of reporters surrounded Tony.
"Mr. Stark, what are your thoughts on this explosion?"
"We heard your driver was injured in this explosion. Is that true?"
"Mr. Stark, what measures will you take?" a male reporter shouted, holding up his phone.
"Do you really want to know?" Tony said coldly.
The surrounding reporters instantly fell silent, staring quietly at Stark, hoping to hear explosive news from him.
"Listen, I, Tony Stark, am not afraid of you. You're just pathetic clowns. I will personally take revenge on you."
"Of course, this is my personal grudge. It doesn't involve politics or the Department of Defense. Prepare to die, all of you! Here is my private address." Tony's eyes were unflinching as he declared unequivocally, "10880 Point Dume, Malibu, zip code 90265."
With that, Tony snatched the reporter's phone and threw it! Smash! The phone shattered into pieces on the ground.
"Sue me," Tony opened the car door and got in.
Vroom! Tony drove the car, speeding out of the circle of reporters.
