SCARS are marks left after a wounds, injury or emotional pain has healed. People think scars disappear when time passes but noo!! they don't,they just learn how to stay silent and die inside.
Everyone in the community knew Brenda as a very loving, sweet, and kind girl that smiles always and helped others in one way or the other and never complained . To the world Brenda was a strong girl who can face or bear anything but strength, she learned early, often meant suffering without noise. Brenda lost her parents to an accident that happened when she was very little and till today she hasn't been herself after that incident. Her scars were not something you could point at.They lived in memories, in nights were tears came without sound, in moments she needed someone and no one came.
Brenda grew up alone believing pain was something to hide so she buried it under achievement and under pretending that she was okay. But pain is patient and scars no matter how quiet , remember everything. One day Brenda stood in front of a mirror and realised she was tired of living in a shadow of herself, tired of shrinking herself so other's wouldn't feel uncomfortable with her truth . That was the day she understood something important: SCARS are proof of healing not weakness. When she finally spoke not loudly but honestly people listened not because her story was dramatic but because it was real. Her SCARS didn't fade completely but they stopped controlling her.
SCARS don't fade to be forgotten, they remain to remind the living how close they came to breaking and how they didn't.
SCARS don't fade quietly, they teach ,they shape and they remind us that surviving is it's own kind of courage.
