By "Sabbir Ahmed"

Asteria had always known she wasn't normal—mostly because normal girls didn't accidentally set their curtains on fire whenever they sneezed. But on the night of the Silver Eclipse, when magic pulsed through the kingdom of Lyria like a caffeine-addicted hummingbird, she discovered two things:

1. Her powers were growing.

2. A stranger had fallen through her roof.

The stranger—a handsome, silver-haired young man—lay sprawled across her floor, groaning dramatically.

"I come in peace," he whispered.

"You came through my ceiling," Asteria corrected.

He sat up, brushing stardust from his clothes. "I am Kael, Crown Prince of the Moon Court. Also, I think your house bit me."

"That was my cat."

"Your cat bites like a dragon."

"That's because he is a dragon."

Kael blinked. Twice. "I see."

Asteria sighed. Of all the people who could crash into her life—literally—it had to be a prince with the social awareness of a confused turnip.

Yet when Kael explained that he was hiding from celestial assassins, and that her accidental burst of magic had dragged him out of the sky, she felt a strange tug in her chest. Fate? Destiny? Or just indigestion from dinner?

Regardless, she couldn't let assassins roam her garden. She had tomatoes growing there.

"Fine," she said. "You can stay until the eclipse ends."

Kael brightened. "Thank you, kind sorceress!"

"I'm not a sorceress," Asteria muttered.

"Yes, well, I wasn't supposed to fall off the Moon Palace balcony either. We are both suffering."

In the days that followed, Kael proved good at three things:

1. Attracting trouble.

2. Misunderstanding human customs.

3. Making Asteria's heart do an inconvenient little flutter.

And when the assassins finally arrived and Asteria stood ready to defend him, Kael looked at her with moon-bright eyes.

"You're remarkable," he whispered.

"You're an idiot," she replied.

Both were true.

And so began the legend of Lyria's most chaotic duo—where magic, romance, and comedy collided under the silver moon.
