Chapter 182 - Chapter 182: The Mare's Trial

[Notice: Your companion has triggered the Other Shore Trial. Details are as follows:]

[1. Setting Introduction: This trial world simulates a replica of the deserted island on a day when an unknown anomaly descends. Specific anomalies are:] [① Due to the anomaly, your physical age has reverted to 50% of its original state. Physical stat bonuses are disabled.] [② Except for you and the two trial subjects, none of your other companions exist in this trial world.] [③ Enemies you have defeated will return to the trial world one by one to seek revenge. In your abnormally fragile state, you must rely on the subjects for protection.]

[2. Warning: During the trial, do not reveal or hint at any information related to the trial to the subjects, or the trial will automatically fail!]

[3. Note: This is a Multi-Subject Trial. Participants: Janet Alvarez, Valentina Orekhov.]

[4. Trial Objective: While adhering to the second warning, successfully survive for 24 hours with both trial subjects in the simulation. Note: Injury or death in the trial world will not affect the real world physically, but pain will be felt. Death of any participant in the trial world results in immediate failure. Proceed with caution!]

[Remaining Time: 23 hours 58 minutes]

Reading the screens, Chuck quickly grasped the situation.

A new [Other Shore Trial]!

After Kaede and Kaoru's trials, a long time had passed. Finally, a new one triggered.

This heralded another upgrade to his reproductive ability, and meant Valentina and Janet would soon be able to absorb his Energy Essence.

Assuming they passed the trial...

But as he read, Chuck's brow furrowed.

This trial was distinctly different from the previous three.

Instead of reliving past scenarios, it simulated an alternate reality of their current island. The objective shifted from "conquest" to "survival."

Chuck focused on the last anomaly condition.

Enemies you have defeated will return... to seek revenge.

Defeated enemies...

On this island, besides Valentina, the only enemies Chuck had defeated were the beasts.

His expression turned serious.

Seeking revenge one by one...

He began to understand the core of this trial.

The content was clearly harder than before. But the [Other Shore Trial] was never his trial; it was for his companions. In these worlds, he was usually marginalized into an NPC role to minimize his impact.

Hence the prompt: "You must rely on them for protection."

Chuck rolled up his loose pant legs and sleeves, standing up on the bed. His oversized shorts immediately slid down, exposing his bare ass.

"Oh my!"

A gasp came from beside him. Chuck turned to see Janet, who had been watching over him.

Her blue eyes were fixed between his legs, filled with shock and awe.

"Baby, what in the world..."

Chuck opened his mouth to explain, but following her gaze, he saw the familiar dragon swaying between his legs.

The exaggerated size stunned even him.

Objectively, the thing itself hadn't changed size. But because Chuck's body had shrunk, in comparison, the already massive organ looked doubly enormous, swinging around like a third leg.

Chuck sighed internally.

Body shrunk, stats gone, but the dick stays the same?

Facing continuous escape or combat in this trial world, wouldn't it be a burden?

Chuck smiled bitterly and turned to Janet.

Her face was a mix of surprise, confusion, and bewilderment.

Waking up to find her niece and everyone else gone, leaving only her and Chuck—who had suddenly turned into a child.

"Baby, where did Jules go? Why is your body like this? What's happening..."

Janet's face paled as she spoke.

She didn't know this was a trial; she thought it was reality.

"Calm down, Janet. Let's figure out the situation first."

As expected, Chuck's voice was childish and tender, yet his tone was calm and steady.

Seeing this, the confusion in Janet's eyes faded. She calmed down, looking at the familiar yet inexplicably cute boy, and nodded gently.

"Mmh... sorry."

"Did you see anyone else?"

Chuck adjusted his clothes, tying the waist and collar with string, looking around as he asked.

"No. When I woke up, everyone was gone. Just the two of us."

Janet answered honestly. Chuck nodded and climbed off the bed.

Although the screen said he was fragile, this trial didn't force him to maintain a persona or feign amnesia like before.

Meaning, despite his small, weak body, he could influence the outcome!

Then he wouldn't be polite.

Even if he was "Conan-ized," the cheat was dead wrong if it thought he would act like a scripted NPC again.

"Janet, please prepare some food and water. I'm going out to check the situation."

With that, Chuck jumped off the bed and headed for the door.

"Wait... Baby!"

Janet tried to stop him, but Chuck waved his hand.

Unlike her, Chuck knew the inside scoop. He knew Valentina was also in this world.

As the only combatant among the three, she was undoubtedly the key to this trial. Finding her was the top priority.

If not at home, maybe at the cave near the western jungle where he first recruited her?

But just as he stepped outside with that thought, he saw the silver-haired warrior standing at the edge of the platform, shading her eyes, staring toward the southern jungle.

Seeing her, Chuck sighed in relief. He walked up to her, about to speak, when Valentina turned abruptly. She looked down at the boy barely reaching her breast height, frowning slightly.

"What happened to you?"

"I don't know. But something's wrong. Come inside first; it might be dangerous out here."

"Not 'might be'."

Valentina raised a finger, pointing toward the southern beach.

"Something is approaching."

Chuck looked, his heart tightening.

Though unclear, palm trees and bushes in the southern jungle were shaking continuously, the disturbance moving slowly toward them.

The wild boar?!

Knowing the rules, Chuck assessed the situation instantly.

The boar had really returned. And judging by its path, it was coming straight for him, just as the screen described.

The first challenge arrived right at the start.

"Back inside! Grab weapons and gear, prepare to fight!"

Chuck's expression was serious. Valentina nodded at his command.

But then, she did something completely unexpected.

She turned, hooked her hands under Chuck's armpits, and lifted him up like a child!

"What the fuck!"

Startled, Chuck struggled instinctively. But in his child form without stat bonuses, he had absolutely no resistance against Valentina. She subdued him effortlessly with two hands.

Realizing resistance was futile, Chuck gave up. He looked up at the snowy face inches from his own and asked calmly.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Only he knew this wasn't the real world. For Valentina, who once saw him as a lifelong rival, this situation was a perfect opportunity to escape his control or even turn the tables.

Valentina ignored his question. She carried him straight into the room.

Then, under Janet's stunned gaze, she tossed him onto the bed.

"You two, stay here."

Leaving those words, she ignored Chuck, went into the storage room, and emerged moments later fully armed.

Chuck's bronze javelin, bronze pike, and even the newly crafted steel axe were strapped to her back or waist.

Then, under their gaze, she walked out without looking back.

"Is she..."

Janet frowned, worry in her eyes.

Valentina's posture made it clear she wasn't taking the weapons to leave.

She intended to face the incoming danger alone.

Chuck pondered for a moment, then turned to Janet.

"I'm going to check on her."

"Baby! I'm coming with you!"

This time, Janet spoke up firmly. Chuck had turned into a child. If there was danger and Valentina wasn't there...

Only she could protect him!

Thinking this, Janet's eyes misted over. She pulled Chuck into a tight embrace.

"Don't worry. No matter what, Mommy won't let you get hurt!"

Chuck's face was instantly buried between two massive, milk-scented fleshy mounds. Breathing became difficult.

When she called herself "Mommy" to the towering adult Chuck, it was a bit incongruous. But now? It fit perfectly.

Only when Chuck slapped her giant breasts hard did the emotional Janet release him. Chuck gasped for air, nearly suffocated.

Looking up, he saw her blue eyes filled with tender maternal love.

...

With Valentina going out alone, the two staying behind couldn't do much.

Chuck knew the wild boar, the first beast he faced, wasn't strong. It shouldn't pose a threat to the fully armed Valentina.

The real danger lay in what came next...

The python, the wolf pack, and the black bear.

If they all came within the next 24 hours, expecting Valentina to handle them alone was unrealistic.

And for the trial to succeed, Valentina's safety was paramount.

After chasing her out, Janet held Chuck's hand, shielding him behind her. They barely left the platform toward the southern jungle when a shrill pig squeal echoed ahead.

Moments later, Valentina pushed through the bushes, pike in hand, walking toward them.

"Done?"

Chuck looked at her relaxed expression and unharmed state, shaking his head helplessly.

Despite defeating her repeatedly, he had to admit this woman's combat ability was beyond common sense.

"Killed it. But something's wrong."

Valentina tossed something from behind her shoulder. It rolled to their feet.

Chuck looked down, pupils contracting.

It was the boar's head, but vastly different from his memory.

Most of the flesh was rotted away. One eye socket was completely empty. Chuck paused, recalling he had killed the boar by thrusting a wooden spear into its eye.

This thing... wasn't a boar. It was a zombie boar.

Chuck shuddered.

So the pig didn't just return... it resurrected!

Does that mean the other beasts... will be the same?

Chuck pondered for a long time, then looked up at the two tall women looking down at him with different expressions.

"Anyway, let's go back and plan."
