In a city called Singapore was a woman named Jiwon Jeon. She is a 41 years old widow with two kids Mi Rae and Mi Yeon. They were both twins. They were born in the United States and then moved to Singapore when their father passed away from a fire explosion when he was about to be the chairman of a very popular business group. By that time, Mi Yeon and Mi Rae were both 6 years old, when their father the late Mr. .Jeon Jay passed away.
Life was really hard for Mrs. Jiwon and her two daughters. Sometimes, the children must be sacked from school for not being able to pay their school fees.
Every day, Ms. Jiwon will leave the house at 4am in order to go and clean the office of her boss and got work at 8am. During that time, the two daughters were in the house doing nothing. One day, Mi Rae became very bored and turned on the television for some time.
When she sat down watching, her other sister Mi Yeon, who said was going to marry work will always be cleaning the house ten times a day.
When Mi Rae was watching her favorite K-Drama, 'Tale Of The Nine Tailed', there was a quick advertisement about a very big, powerful and popular school in Seoul called Royal High School. Only the sons and daughters of big companies and other rich foreign people including the president's sons and daughters are also attending that school
Mi Rae: Mi Yeon, Mi Yeon. You've got to see this powerful school.
Mi Yeon: Wow! I never knew there could be a school such as that in the entire universe.
Mi Rae: Isn't it beautiful?
Mi Yeon: Of course. The school really looks like a 5 star hotel.
Mi Rae: That is heaven.
Both the sisters were very happy but also sad, because they knew that they were nowhere near the other students in the school and they were not worth attending that school either.
Both the sisters said to themselves, "I wish my mother was the chairwoman of that school, and then I can even become the school prefect". Both of them were just staring at the television to the extent that they even forgot to cook before their mother returns from work.
When their mother got back from work, they both rushed and pretended that they were sleeping. They even forgot to turn off the television before their mother could enter the room.
Mrs. Jiwon: Children, where are you? Mommy is here.
The two daughters pretended not to even hear a single word. When their mother saw the television on, she got very angry and walked into their rooms. They were still putting on their con act until their mother said she brought their favorite food, which is none other than pork meat.
They stormed off from their rooms and rushed to the kitchen and saw that it was true. Their mother scolded them and did not give them food to eat that night. Mrs. Jiwon and her two children were in the living room, Mi Yeon and Mi Rae were kneeling down whiles their mother was enjoying the pork meat with some coke by her side.
She asked Mi Rae to turn on the television and the advertisement was still on going. At first, their mother thought the school was a hotel, but after her
children explained it to her, she was shocked to see that it was even a school, because she had never seen one in her life before. She started to say, "Money is really doing the talking and the students are even richer than us".
Mi Yeon: Mom! Don't say that. I know they are richer than us, but at least you are older than them.
Mi Rae starts to laugh as if she was going to swallow the whole living room at once.
Mi Rae: Hey! As you can hear, money really talks. Those students are first-class princes and princesses. In fact, to tell you the truth, they spend money like crazy and they even got money to burn.
Mrs. Jiwon: That's enough. Turn off the television and go to your rooms. It's not like you have the ability to go there with that silly grade of yours. I heard they are very smart and intelligent. If you want to be like them, you should get ready to sell your television and the house itself to pay for the registration fee only. Which costs 50 million Korean won.
Mi Yeon: I think mom is right. Even if we sell our house, study and lose weight down to our bones, we are still not worth half of a single student.
After having that long conversation, they stood up sadly and went into their rooms quietly with their heads down.
5 years later, the girls are now grown teenagers, and their mother have been fired from work for not doing her work on time. The girls were still not going to school by then, so they dropped out of school.
Both of them started working at two convenience stores and also delivering at the same time. They struggled really to take care of their mother and themselves. Despite their young age, they still manage to work hard and their hard work has finally paid off.
They moved out from their old house and migrated to a new place in Seoul. The girls are now 14 years and they are still working really so that they can earn more money. The new house that they had rented is very comfortable and expensive.
Their key rent is 50,000 over there, they work 8hours a day. At Mi Rae's' place people don't like her. Even the man in charge gives her the smallest amount of money.
When night came, Mi Yeon and Mi Rae were home with their mother. They were both helping her to prepare a very delicious kimchi stew, rice and pork belly.
Unexpectedly, Mi Yeon and Mi Rae received a call from their workshop. When they reached the place, there was a huge task waiting for both of them. They were very surprised to see the huge number of people who ordered their products at the school. The numbers were in thousands.
Though it was a huge opportunity for Mi Yeon and Mi Rae, they were both feeling lazy to deliver the products to the customers one by one. Mi Rae was very tired to the extent that she even have to ask the manager if it was only both of them, and surprisingly it was.
Mi Yeon: Is it just the two of us?
Mi Rae: Yes.
Manager: Kids! Hurry up and deliver our products to Royal High School.
Mi Yeon: WHAT!!! Royal High School!!?
Manager: Yes, why?
Mi Yeon: Nothing.
She clears her throat with excitement and rushed to Mi Rae.
Mi Rae: Can you even imagine that we are going to step our feet into the campus for the first time?
