Chapter 2 - Into city we come

Rickon, clad in shining armor and standing with proud posture, stared boldly into the city. Merchants and wandering soldiers filled the streets. He saw no reason to examine their goods, though some food would have been useful.

"So, what is your name?" the female soldier asked.

"I am called Rickon the Fistbrother," he replied. "Known for my wit and strong warfare."

"How amusing," she said with a faint smile.

The soldier beside her leaned closer to us. "We have arrived at the gates of Darren the Great. Be careful what you say—especially about his horse being too fat. His lordship has a tender and foolish will."

The closer we came to the hall, the tougher the soldiers became. Their armor was heavier, their gazes sharper.

"Now, what shall we do with you?" the woman asked.

"You said you were chosen by the Grand System," she continued. "The lord must know."

I thought to myself that perhaps it had not been such a good idea to tell them that.

We entered the great hall. A knight stood guard beside the lord, broad-shouldered and radiating quiet confidence.

"Lady Sarah," the lord said, "you have brought him here. You shall be rewarded with a silver coin."

The lord appeared to be in his thirties—fat, with a thick beard. He was dressed in purple, the color of royalty.

The man soldier said my lord this man here is chosen by great system, perhaps we should use him in our war against the saranens, i see a man whoose is cheerised by gods of the world, intriguing.

Join us in the battle against my foe and i will reward you plenty, with gold and silver,
