Chapter 41 - Chapter 41

"Dead? He's dead?"

Hearing the prompt sound in his mind, Quinn was stunned for a long time before he could react.

It wasn't that he thought Rui's strength was so powerful that no one could beat him, but rather that there was a connection between him and the puppets—he could sense the situation on each puppet's side.

Once a huge change occurred around a puppet, even if he didn't actively perceive it, he could immediately feel it.

But until the system message came, he hadn't felt any disturbance, as if everything was fine one moment, then suddenly death.

In other words, Rui had been killed instantly before he could react, and his powerful body recovery ability hadn't worked at all.

Only in this scenario would Quinn not notice anything.

However, who in Marvel could do this right now?

Quinn was puzzled.

So far, there were only a handful of powerhouses in Marvel, but there were still many who could kill Rui instantly.

For example, the Hulk, or the senior mages under the Ancient One at Kamar-Taj, or powerful Inhumans.

Even if Asgard discovered an alien species like demons, it wasn't impossible they'd send soldiers to clean them up.

But there were only a handful of people who could kill him instantly without Rui reacting.

First, the Ancient One—she could definitely do this.

But she wouldn't leave the temple for such a trivial matter, as she had to guard against other multidimensional lords.

And the others—who?

Thor?

Loki?

Odin was definitely impossible. Like the Ancient One, he'd never go out personally for such a trivial matter.

Besides these guys, who else?

Some powerful Inhuman hiding in the shadows?

If it was a mental-type superpower, then it was possible to rely on a sneak attack to make Rui die before he could react.

But maybe not at all.

Marvel's Earth was a cosmic transit station, and the water ran far deeper than the movies showed.

In other words, a movie was a movie, and reality was reality.

The movies showed only a part of the world, not the whole world.

It was like several movies Marvel had planned to shoot before Quinn's transmigration... The content already involved cosmic gods and multidimensional lords.

If these films hadn't been made yet, did that prove the content they would show didn't exist?

If it were just simple movies, that would probably be the case.

But now, Quinn was in the real world, so he couldn't be sure who the killer was.

"...System, check Rui's memories before his death!" After thinking for a while, Quinn decided to look at what happened to Rui before he died.

Immediately, Rui's memory before death appeared in his mind like a movie.

In the middle of the dark night, Rui left his hidden residence and went outside to look for prey.

Soon, outside a bar, he saw a few scumbags who'd drugged a girl unconscious and were about to take her to the woods.

He grinned and walked over slowly.

"Don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong!"

The thugs also spotted him, and one immediately spoke up, trying to scare off this uninvited guest.

But what responded to him was Rui's attack.

He didn't use his Blood Demon Art—he simply appeared behind the thug who'd spoken with speed that ordinary people couldn't react to, twisted his head off, held it in his hand, and let blood splash all over his body.

"..."

The remaining thugs didn't react when they saw this scene and fell into stunned silence one by one.

Rui lifted the head and licked the blood from the severed neck. His taste buds filled with the strange flavor of nicotine, marijuana, and alcohol.

"Bleh!" Rui suddenly vomited it out, staring at the rest of the group with an ugly expression. "In this day and age, even the blood of sinful people is contaminated. It's really unpleasant to drink!"

"AHHHHHH!!!!"

At that moment, the thugs came to their senses, and after confirming they weren't dreaming, screamed in horror, then fled in all directions.

"It's not easy finding prey, how could I let you escape!" Rui threw the head away and chased after them with a cruel smile.

But as soon as he reached the road, there was a thunderous roar in the distance, and then the picture spun around—his head fell to the ground.

"Huh?"

Rui hadn't realized what was happening, but the inverted picture gradually shrank and blurred, finally turning into darkness.

However, before his consciousness dissipated, he saw flames speeding at very high velocity in the distance.

...

When the memory film ended, Quinn's consciousness returned to reality.

He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it unhurriedly, took a deep breath, and exhaled slowly. Looking at the deserted alley outside, he couldn't help sighing. "I didn't expect it to be Ghost Rider!"

Although Rui hadn't seen the complete picture, the back of the flaming, speeding rider was enough to guess the other party's identity.

Ghost Rider was originally the weapon "Spirit of Vengeance" that God used to punish evil, but due to a change in ancient times, all the Spirits of Vengeance died, and only one was obtained by the hell lord Mephisto.

He'd transformed this vengeful spirit, then signed a contract with a human named "Johnny Blaze," causing him to sell his soul to Mephisto, become his Ghost Rider, and fight for him.

Originally, after completing the contract, he could have terminated the agreement with Mephisto long ago.

But to prevent innocent people from selling their souls to Mephisto, he'd refused the other party's offer to rescind the contract and had been living as Ghost Rider, cruising around the world, hunting down those who'd entered Earth from hell or other dimensions—bad guys.

Obviously, the aura of the Twelve Kizuki as undead creatures and their cannibalistic behavior had been targeted by Ghost Rider.

"This is difficult!"

After clarifying what happened, Quinn's eyes narrowed and his expression became grave.

Ghost Rider was an unimaginable undead entity that could change any form, enchant and burn matter and souls, open roads to hell with hellfire, and possessed the most overpowered ability in the entire Marvel universe—"Penance Stare," a bug-level skill that even "Galactus," one of the universe's creator gods, couldn't avoid.

Aside from these bizarre abilities, his own strength, speed, and neural responses were also superhuman. Even in Marvel, he was a T1-level powerhouse.

Most importantly, he also had a contractual relationship with Mephisto. If you touched him, you'd provoke Mephisto.

If he'd set his sights on the Twelve Kizuki, there really was no winning.

At the very least, with the cards Quinn currently held, he couldn't deal with Ghost Rider at all.

No solution whatsoever.

"Although I thought from the beginning they might attract Ghost Rider, I didn't expect it to happen so quickly!" Quinn couldn't help sighing.

Ghost Rider would be attracted by evil, and he was a well-known anti-hero of Marvel. Naturally, it was impossible to forget about this guy.

In fact, it was precisely because he knew this guy would find them sooner or later that he wanted to drain the value of the Twelve Kizuki as quickly as possible!

Because he had no way to deal with Ghost Rider.

Although Ghost Rider wasn't as inscrutable as the Ancient One, his methods were also very simple and brutal.

But it was because of their simplicity and brutality that they were difficult to handle.

"We can only further accelerate the progress of the Infinity Castle decisive battle script. I hope to draw other Demon Slayer Corps members as soon as possible!" Quinn prayed to the system and continued the lottery.

This time, drawing puppets!
