Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The vision's New Ability

"New Eridu?" Hu Tao racked her brain, but couldn't recall anything about this place.

The white-haired girl said, "We shouldn't stay here long. We are currently inside a Hollow, and the longer we stay, the more dangerous it becomes. Let's get out first, and then I'll explain slowly."

However, the Mechanoid beside her looked somewhat helpless. "Amber, she clearly just hasn't fully woken up yet..."

"Why did you assume she was a Transmigrator the moment you saw her?! That kind of thing is impossible to imagine!"

The white-haired girl was about to argue with him, but on second thought, getting out of here was more important.

So, she turned to Hu Tao and said, "Let's formally introduce ourselves. I am Amber, this Mechanoid is named Billy, and the Bambou beside him is our Hollow Guide—Ropemaker. You can call her [Phaethon]."

Hu Tao smiled sweetly. "I am Hu Tao, the 77th Director of the Wang Sheng Funeral Parlor. It's a pleasure to meet you."

It was only after Amber's introduction that she noticed a... mechanical rabbit wearing clothes standing nearby?

It hadn't moved a moment ago, so Hu Tao, who had just woken up, hadn't noticed it at all. However, it was still closing its eyes now, seemingly powered off.

Noticing Ropemaker's abnormality, Amber quickly patted her. "Ropemaker? Ropemaker?"

On the other end of the Communication Fiber, Ropemaker—Ling, who had been drooling all over the desk, suddenly woke up. "Ah! Sorry, sorry. I accidentally watched too many movies last night, heehee~"

She scratched her head awkwardly, and IES, the Bambou on this side who had recovered synchronization, also scratched its head, looking very cute.

Hu Tao was immediately curious upon seeing this. "Huh? How can a little rabbit talk?"

Ling was about to explain, but Amber cut her off. "We can't explain it quickly. We'll talk when we meet. Ropemaker, where do we go next?"

Ling immediately entered work mode and directed IES to walk in one direction. "The nearest exit is this way."

The three of them quickly followed Ropemaker.

Before long, several humanoid monsters suddenly appeared before them. They were entirely black, glowing green, and their heads were deep purple spheres.

Amber immediately warned, "They are Remnants! Prepare to fight!"

Seeing this, Hu Tao immediately pulled out the staff of homa and activated her vision, coating it with a layer of dazzling flame.

This secretly startled the other three: this girl could actually summon and control fire out of thin air!

The Remnants roared and lunged at the group. Amber quickly pulled out her weapon and met them head-on, dispatching several Remnants amidst flashing electricity.

Hu Tao also swung her staff of homa, which was blazing with fire, coordinating with Amber's offensive to quickly deal with the Remnants approaching from the other direction.

Billy pulled out two pistols and accurately fired bursts of bullets at the distant Remnants. Before long, the battle smoothly concluded.

Just as the three were about to follow Ropemaker forward, a Remnant suddenly flashed out from behind a container on Hu Tao's left. Wielding a Hand Blade, it chopped down at the unsuspecting Hu Tao!

At this moment, Hu Tao didn't have time to use the staff of homa in her right hand to make an effective block. In desperation, she suddenly remembered the Magical Techniques she had once learned from Yanfei!

"Concentrate the power of the Pyro element vision in the palm of your hand, and then release it!"

It was almost instinctive. Hu Tao raised her left hand, and a ball of Purple Flame violently flew toward the Remnant's head!

In an instant, the Remnant seemed to lose all vitality. All the green light on its body vanished, and it fell straight backward.

The other three quickly gathered around to check if Hu Tao was injured. Seeing that she was fine, everyone felt relieved.

At this moment, Amber noticed something strange:

Although this Remnant had lost all vitality, and all the light on its body, including the aether core in its head, had vanished, its body did not dissipate—a situation that had never occurred before!

Amber squatted down to examine the undissipated Remnant closely, frowning deeply. "This is too strange. Previously defeated Remnants always dissipated, but this one remained."

Billy also leaned over, stroking his chin in thought. "Could it be related to the Purple Flame Hu Tao released?"

IES, standing nearby, nodded. "Very likely."

But Hu Tao looked completely bewildered at this moment, because she didn't know when her vision had acquired this strange new ability.

More importantly, why did she release Purple Flame instead of ordinary fire?
