"Lord Uther! Just as you said, all of this is a revelation from the Holy Light. Now we have even more powerful allies.
Let's go! Don't waste time. Let us destroy Zakaz. With these Holy Light Elemental joining the battle, we will be even more formidable," Rhodes said.
Actually, according to the latest lore, the Holy Light isn't entirely good either. Its appearance as a beautiful female figure is probably to better bewitch mortals.
"Rhodes, you are right. All of this is the guidance of the Holy Light. Everyone, advance! Let's go eliminate Zakaz," Uther said.
"Indeed! The guidance of the Holy Light and the Titan Keeper is very clear. The core of that evil is down below. Emperor Thoradin's sword should also be impaled in Zakaz's body. It was that weapon that severely wounded him, delaying his recovery."
"For the sacrifice of Emperor Thoradin, for the glory of Tyr, for the future of Lordaeron!" The Leader of Tyr's Guards raised his greatsword, his voice booming, "Let's go!"
The party set off again, illuminated by the light emitted by the Fire Elemental.
Sixteen tall Fire Elemental floated at the very front, like moving torches, dispelling the viscous darkness in the passage. The light and heat they emitted had a natural suppressive effect on Shadow energy. The Shadow Creatures lurking in the corners seemed to fear this scorching power and dared not approach easily.
Uther was right; these Fire Elemental had a great advantage against Shadow monsters. After all, fire is also light and heat.
This might also be why Fire Elemental undergo a drastic change when Holy Light is added during their summoning, giving birth to Holy Light Elemental.
The power displayed by the four Holy Light Elemental in this gloomy underground area could only be described as abnormal. Their entire bodies radiated Holy Light, causing even more terrifying damage to these Shadow Creatures.
The golden Holy Light incinerated these Shadow Creatures to ash.
As the party delved deeper into the underground passage, the air became thick and cold. The shadows were no longer mist but more like some living entity. The shadow whispers were no longer background noise but turned into sharp shrieks, distorted roars, and malicious murmurs, directly assaulting the soul barriers of everyone.
But fortunately, with the Paladins and Holy Light Elemental present, these small shadows could not harm the group.
The Holy Light on the Paladins and Tyr's Guards became even more intense, like lighthouses in the darkness. Rhodes also fully activated Meditation and Blessing of Wisdom to maintain a clear mind.
Meanwhile, the Holy Light Elemental continuously cast Holy Light Flash on nearby allies, dispelling mental erosion.
The further down they went, the more open the space became. Finally, they reached an unimaginably vast underground cavern.
At the center of the cavern was a massive deep pit. At the bottom of the pit, a terrifying, suffocatingly huge entity stood.
It was the Faceless General—Zakaz!
His body was far larger than any Faceless Ones they had encountered before, standing over ten meters tall, like a living mountain of flesh.
Dark purple skin covered in thick armor plating, a giant mouth almost entirely covering his upper body, filled with spiraling sharp teeth. Dozens of thick tentacles grew around the mouth, wildly flailing in the air. This was a huge, disgusting creature.
Most striking was an ancient-looking greatsword, radiating an unyielding will, deeply embedded in his massive chest.
Emperor Thoradin's sword! Strom'kar, the Warbreaker!
Most of the blade was plunged into Zakaz's body. It was this weapon, like a giant nail, that pinned Zakaz down, preventing his complete recovery.
This weapon was forged by the finest Dwarf craftsmen and humans working together, then enchanted by the elves of Quel'Thalas, making it the strongest weapon.
And over these 2700-plus years, it had been impaled in the Faceless General's body, absorbing a large amount of Shadow energy.
Now, even its owner, Emperor Thoradin, probably didn't know what power this weapon possessed.
"We've arrived. That is the legendary Faceless General Zakaz. It was he who forced Tyr to his death back then. The sword plunged into his chest is Emperor Thoradin's sword," the Keepers of Tyr said with a sigh.
If it weren't for the Human Emperor back then, this monster would probably have broken out thousands of years ago.
"What a disgusting monster. This monster must not be allowed to reach the surface, otherwise, it will be a catastrophe comparable to the scourge," Uther said, gripping the silver hand warhammer in his hand.
"We must pull out the greatsword from his chest to kill him, but this weapon..." The Keepers of Tyr in front of him looked troubled.
"This weapon has been tainted by a large amount of Shadow energy. Although still powerful, it is no longer sacred," a Paladin of the Silver Hand said.
This weapon was Emperor Thoradin's, but Emperor Thoradin's bloodline had been cut off. Now, the leader of humanity was the great Kingdom of Lordaeron.
The Emperor's weapon couldn't represent anything, and besides, it was now polluted by Shadow energy. Uther nodded upon hearing this, then looked at Rhodes.
"Rhodes, did the Guardian say what should be done with this weapon?" This weapon was a hot potato; it would be best not to bring it back to Lordaeron.
"Lord Uther, the Guardian instructed me to take this weapon back to him for purification," Rhodes said.
The people of Lordaeron didn't value this weapon, believing the Emperor's weapon was contaminated and lacked legitimacy, but he didn't mind. This was a divine artifact for a Weapon Warrior.
Uther nodded. It was the best choice for Rhodes to take this weapon and hand it over to the Titan Keeper.
"Then let's follow the Guardian's wishes! I will pull out this weapon. You all prepare to attack this fellow," Uther said, then jumped into the deep pit and pulled the greatsword from the Faceless One's chest.
As the Emperor's sword was pulled out, the Faceless General—Zakaz awakened!
Even after being sealed for ten thousand years, even after being severely wounded by Thoradin, he was still one of the most terrifying servants of the old gods!
Breaking free from his final restraints, he let out a terrifying roar at the ants who dared to disturb his long slumber!
"Hmph! I've been waiting for you! Die, monster!" Uther roared, raising his silver hand warhammer and charging forward.
The four Holy Light Elemental and sixteen Fire Elemental also leaped into the deep pit, assisting Uther in attacking the Faceless One.
Meanwhile, the Paladins, Tyr's Guards, and numerous Lordaeron soldiers remained above the pit, protecting Rhodes and Jaina.
It was best for ordinary people not to go down and face this monster. The main force was left to the elemental creatures and Uther.
Rhodes raised his hand and cast two negative spells: "Great Haste Slow! Curse!"
The newly awakened Faceless One's speed visibly became sluggish and clumsy, as if he had sunk into a viscous mire!
At the same time, his Shadow energy, as if under some curse, became extremely unstable, and his attack power plummeted!
