Synopsis
The life of Dr. Mezouar Mohammed Saïd in Britain brings together deep philosophy, a touch of phenomenology, and the everyday work of teaching. Here, he found a space that opened up his questions about awareness and existence, giving him the chance to turn his academic thinking into a more human way of teaching. He blended research, reflection, and classroom practice, becoming the kind of thinker who lives philosophy, not just studies it.

Chapter 1 - The Beginning of My Journey at Ironworks Gym: From November to December

At the onset of November, I felt an urgent need to alter my way of life. Hours spent seated before books and computers had left their mark upon my body, and I recognised the necessity of returning to physical activity to restore both vitality and general fitness. After some deliberation, I resolved to commence my endeavours at one of Birmingham's most renowned gyms: Ironworks Gym, celebrated for its vast space and state-of-the-art equipment—a most suitable venue for one intent upon improving their physical condition.

Upon my initial entry into the establishment, a mixture of excitement and apprehension took hold. The gym was expansive, filled with a variety of apparatus, each presenting its own challenge. From traditional weight-lifting machines to the more modern equipment designed for strength and endurance, all seemed purpose-built to confront one with fresh trials. My first task was to acquaint myself with the layout, noting the locations of the chest machines, leg and back apparatus, and even the free-weight section.

Throughout the early days of November, my primary objective was to familiarise myself with the equipment. The aim was not to lift prodigious weights, but rather to comprehend the function of each machine, adopt correct postures, and perceive the awakening of my muscles after prolonged inactivity. The initial sessions proved challenging; minor aches and pains emerged in the arms, thighs, and back. Yet each twinge served as a reminder that progress was underway. I allocated different days to distinct muscle groups—chest on one day, back on another, legs on yet another—leaving each session with a sense of accomplishment, while acknowledging that a more structured plan would be required for tangible results.

As November drew to a close, it became apparent that mere familiarity was insufficient. I required greater discipline, a defined plan, and measurable objectives. I resolved, therefore, to dedicate December as a fresh beginning, enlisting the guidance of a private trainer to design a stringent schedule tailored to my goals of achieving a balanced and robust physique. After careful consideration, I selected a coach renowned for creating bespoke programmes, attentive to individual capacity and need.

Our initial session in early December proved wholly transformative. The trainer emphasised not only weight-lifting, but also the significance of nutrition, the balance between strength and aerobic exercise, and appropriate rest intervals for each muscle group. A comprehensive assessment was undertaken: muscle flexibility, endurance, and general fitness levels were measured, after which a meticulous timetable was devised, specifying exercises, weights, repetitions, and sets for each day.

The first fortnight was a considerable test of perseverance. I attended each session knowing the exertion would exceed previous experience, yet the trainer remained ever-present, correcting posture, encouraging completion of every set, and reminding me that patience and discipline are the pathways to a sound, well-proportioned body. Progress became evident not only physically, but mentally; I awoke each morning with renewed energy, my days suffused with vigour, and exercise became a natural component of my daily routine rather than a mere obligation.

What distinguishes work with a private trainer is the bespoke nature of instruction. Exercises were never arbitrary; each movement was calculated. Should fatigue compromise a set, adjustments were made without compromising the overarching objectives. I learned to value proper technique above sheer weight, recognising that mastery of form is essential for cultivating strength and avoiding injury.

By mid-December, changes were tangible. Strength and endurance improved, posture refined, and the discipline acquired in training extended into daily life. Exercise was no longer a mechanical task, but a journey of learning, patience, and self-mastery.

Reflecting upon my journey from November, it is evident that this experience has been profoundly educational. What began as a simple attempt to acquaint myself with equipment evolved into a deliberate, structured programme with a private coach aimed at constructing a sound, balanced, and healthy physique. Though the path was challenging, it has yielded great reward—physically, mentally, and intellectually. I now look forward with enthusiasm to the coming months, eager to continue advancing and sculpting a superior version of myself with each passing day.
