Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Nun Lilith! Malicious Charm!

After the meal.

Xia Tian wandered around the Angel Legion garrison to further understand the functions of the various areas within the base.

Although Qian Feng had already explained a lot to him beforehand, nothing beat the intuition gained from personal exploration.

Moreover, this was probably a sequela from studying at Hogwarts—exploring the academy.

What to do if he encountered something he didn't understand?

Good news: he had a mouth, he could ask.

The Angel Legion garrison was mainly divided into five areas.

The central area was the Church. Many major events were handled here, and a team-building activity—the Sacrament—was held once a month.

The Sacrament activity was similar to a church's Sunday Mass, but much more formal.

The northeast corner was the Cultivation Area. Surprisingly, there was a mimicry cultivation environment here. There was also a huge training ground and an arena. Quite a few people were staying there to cultivate.

The southeast corner was the Living Area; Xia Tian's residence was located here. However, there was a separation between his palace and the palaces where the official members lived. In addition to residences, this area also had facilities like a cafeteria and a medical zone.

The southwest corner was the Library Area. Many books related to cultivation were stored here. It was very comprehensive and allowed for free consultation.

The northwest corner was the Storage Area. Warehouses and resources were stored here, and unauthorized entry was not permitted on ordinary days.

This was just a rough division.

Some functional buildings actually had a very wide coverage.

For example, each area actually had a small church, and the Cultivation Area also had an infirmary.

The reserve area where Xia Tian was located not only had residences but also independent training grounds and classrooms.

What remained consistent was that every building was like a small palace, filled with the symbols of the Angel God.

aside from the functional division of the buildings, Xia Tian also estimated the number of people in the Angel Legion.

If all members of the Angel Legion were present at the garrison, then based on the number of people he saw today, he could infer that the Angel Legion likely had fewer than a hundred members.

But every single official member had at least the cultivation base of a Spirit Emperor.

Because of the small number of people, the entire garrison could be described as very empty; most areas were very quiet.

As for reserve children, apart from Jin Yue, Xia Tian had not seen a second one.

Although Xia Tian really wanted to study in the library all night, reason told him that he should go back to sleep.

"That little girl should have left by now, right? If she keeps pestering me... I'll have no choice but to let her taste this King's Great Magic Wand!"

It is difficult for normal Spirit Masters to fight opponents of a higher level, but Xia Tian was not normal.

Even using only his spatial concealment abilities, Xia Tian had nine different ways to break Jin Yue.

A full nine ways!

However, just as he entered the residential palace, Xia Tian was called out to.

"Are you the new child? I heard your name is Xia Tian?"

The voice was mature and gentle.

Xia Tian turned his head to look and saw that at the entrance, in a room similar to a concierge's lodge, a nun was looking at him through a narrow window.

This should be the nun responsible for taking care of the reserves that Qian Feng had mentioned during the day.

However, Xia Tian hadn't seen her during the daytime.

"That's right, it's me," Xia Tian replied politely. "And you are?"

The nun stood up inside the room, opened the door, and walked out.

Only then did Xia Tian see the nun's appearance clearly.

The nun wore a black and white nun's habit. A black wimple wrapped around her hair, and a cloth belt symbolizing obedience to the doctrine was tied around her waist. Her face was also covered by a black veil.

One could only faintly discern the soft contours of the nun's face.

She was very tall, exceeding 1.9 meters, and the loose nun's habit surprisingly could not completely hide her voluptuous figure.

As the nun walked out of the room, the sound of her stepping on the marble floor tiles clearly indicated that she was actually wearing high heels.

This brought up a point worth mentioning: although the overall productivity and system of the Douluo Continent were still in the backward Middle Ages, some customs and clothing were more fashionable than in modern times.

It only went to show that while the system was backward, the aesthetics and pursuits of the upper class were not backward in the slightest.

Those truly good things were only for Spirit Masters and nobles to enjoy; for ordinary commoners, just having clothes to cover their bodies was considered decent.

The nun came up to Xia Tian and squatted down.

Xia Tian was very worried that the tight nun's uniform would burst open.

She lowered her body as much as possible to be at eye level with Xia Tian before speaking, emitting a young voice.

"Xia Tian, I am the reserve management nun, Lilith."

"If you need help with anything, you can come find me at any time."

"May the glory of the Angel God accompany you forward."

Xia Tian could hear the sincerity in the nun's tone.

However, shamefully, Xia Tian's attention was diverted by other things.

When the nun squatted down and got close to Xia Tian, he recalled the moment he joined the Spirit Hall Academy and saw the magnificent Papal Hill up close in Spirit City.

But Papal Hill was outside, while Nun Lilith was right before his eyes.

Xia Tian recovered his senses in an instant and said politely without batting an eyelid, "I will, Nun Lilith. Thank you for informing me."

"Then I won't disturb you. Go back and rest quickly," Lilith said to Xia Tian.

"Goodbye, Nun Lilith."

After a polite farewell, Xia Tian left and returned to his room.

Nun Lilith stood up. As she watched Xia Tian's retreating figure, the shadows beneath her feet wriggled slowly.

Like an evil beast whose hunger had not been satisfied.

...

Back in the room.

Jin Yue was no longer there.

Xia Tian looked around the room and nodded with satisfaction.

"Very good, that little girl isn't a husky; she didn't tear the house down."

However, Xia Tian then saw a letter on the desk. It was a threatening letter.

[Count yourself lucky you ran fast today. Just wait, I'll deal with you tomorrow. — Jin Yue]

Xia Tian folded the letter and put it into the desk drawer.

Afterward, Xia Tian sat cross-legged on the bed, assuming a posture of cultivation.

In reality, however, he was thinking about something.

"She's a bit like a Veela... but it should be something even darker."

Xia Tian was thinking about Nun Lilith, whom he had just met.

After getting close, Xia Tian had sensed a power on Lilith attempting to influence him.

The effect of this power was similar to the Veela in the magical world—using one's own charm to provoke the emotions of other living beings.

Did Nun Lilith do it on purpose or was it unintentional?

Xia Tian didn't know, but the fact that he didn't show any abnormality likely attracted Nun Lilith's attention.

However, Xia Tian also sensed that Nun Lilith harbored a hidden evil power.

It wasn't an evil attribute like Xiang Ming's.

Rather, it was an evil dyed with blood.

It was an evil that only grew after truly committing sins.

"Interesting. To think I'd encounter something this dangerous even after penetrating deep into the Angel Legion."

Xia Tian did not plan to expose Nun Lilith because it would be hard to explain. However, it was also time for him to prepare some means to deal with danger.
