Chapter 4 - Caelus!?

"Wasn't I just pulling gacha?... What's going on?"

Pushing himself up, Caelus shook his groggy head, but the sight that greeted his gradually clearing mind plunged him back into confusion.

Beneath the black skirt were a pair of long, fair legs, with a blue garter accentuating an unusually seductive curve of thigh flesh—though the person wearing it seemed to have tightened it a bit too forcefully.

If it were a Valkyrie, Caelus wouldn't mind using his tongue to adjust the garter's position and tightness.

But these were his own damn legs!

"Holy shit!"

Caelus jolted, springing up from the floor in an instant.

He warily glanced around, searching for the "Brother Jie" who had dressed him in the skirt and garter.

Halfway through his survey, he caught sight of a familiar yet unfamiliar face reflected in the glossy glass wall.

For a moment, Caelus was bewildered, raising a hand to scratch his head.

Not only did they put me in a skirt and garter, but they also added a wig and colored contacts? What kind of hobby is this?

No!

That's not right!

The moment his fingers touched his hair, the smooth texture and the sensation connected to his scalp confirmed—this was real hair!

He immediately took two steps forward, eyes wide, staring intently at the reflection in the glass wall.

There was no trace of makeup on his face, yet not a single pimple or blemish marred its surface. His sparkling golden pupils carried an innate nobility and aloofness.

"Is this... Caelus?"

Had he transmigrated into Caelus!?

Well, that made sense—his original body had been sliced into a "2.5 Gojo Satoru" by that stroke of misfortune.

[That's right, just as the host has seen, this is exactly what happened.]

The abrupt voice echoing in his mind snapped Caelus back to reality.

"System? What just happened?"

[We were previously in the host's soul space. The host's emotional fluctuations and various factors caused you, who were in a comatose state, to awaken.]

"I see."

Caelus pressed his right hand against the glass wall, palm to palm with his reflection.

He had once speculated that "transmigration was just a final fantasy before death," but now it seemed...

The metallic instruments, something only seen in sci-fi movies, and the high-tech room—people can't dream of things they've never seen before.

The real sensation of his palm against the glass also reminded him: this was reality.

And reality was good!

The flashbacks before death had made Caelus deeply aware of how dull his previous life had been—like a stagnant pool of muddy water without a single ripple.

Caelus met his own gaze in the glass wall.

Since he had the chance to start a new life, this time he would absolutely not live by the rules!

He would indulge his desires and ambitions! He would stir up the stagnant waters of life, making them surge and roar!

He would never pretend again!

A surge of intense emotion erupted uncontrollably from his heart, and Caelus's expression turned momentarily frenzied.

He would ignite his truest self!

He would never again accept any form of restraint on his freedom!

He would tear off the hypocritical mask he wore in his previous life!

Caelus spread the fingers of his right hand, covering his face as if grasping something tightly.

[Host, host, what are you doing!?]

The system's panicked voice interrupted Caelus's fervent emotions.

[If you keep this up... that guy is coming again!]

The system instantly grew vigilant.

Who was "that guy"?

It went without saying.

A clear, unrestrained, mad laugh echoed in Caelus's ears.

He lifted his head, his gaze seeming to traverse the cosmos and time, catching sight of a phantom surrounded by various circus props and an orange jester's mask.

"Ha ha ha ha~ Aha left, and Aha is back~! Dear friend, I knew you wouldn't let Aha down~!"

This time, it wasn't because of the system, nor was it Aha actively seeking him out. It was Caelus's own will that stirred the Path of Elation, summoning Aha.

At this moment, He—no, Caelus—had stepped onto the Path of Elation.

"Let's make things even more fun~!"

The bizarrely grinning orange mask bounced and hopped, looking at Caelus as if observing a baby who had cried loudly after enduring endless grievances and then learned to laugh.

And it wasn't wrong—after all, Caelus had only just been born, so he was indeed a baby~!

Caelus felt as though the hands tightly pressed against his face had truly grasped something.

He lowered his hands and, to his surprise, actually peeled off a mask from his face—black with golden patterns, matching the color scheme of his coat.

"Easy, easy! Just for this unlimited monthly pass, you'd better prepare to turn into a white-haired, red-eyed little loli!"

Gazing at the mask in his hand, a joyful smile curled at the corners of Caelus's lips.

The mask bestowed by Aha usually symbolized an Emissary of Elation. If Caelus didn't have the system, Aha wouldn't mind granting him the position of an Emissary.

But Caelus possessed something as peculiar as a system, so this mask was merely Aha's specialized weapon of elation for Caelus, similar to Stelle's bat, flame spear, hat or quill.

In addition to possessing some abilities related to elation, it also functioned as an unlimited game monthly pass, contributing 30 crystals to Caelus every day.

The amount might seem a bit small, but this wasn't a game!

In response to Caelus's reply, the orange mask's grin grew even more fervent: "Ha ha ha, then Aha will eagerly await it~!"

Fooling others naturally brings joy, but being fooled by others... isn't that an even greater delight?

It's just a pity that Aha hadn't experienced the pleasure of being toyed with in a long time.

Amidst the system's cat-like vigilance, the laughing orange mask faded away, and the gaze fixed on Caelus vanished as well.

Simultaneously, a task popped up on the system interface.

[Task: By any means necessary, transform the Aeon of Elation, Aha, into a white-haired, red-eyed little loli.]

[Reward: 16,000 crystals.]

[Time Limit: None.]

[What the f*ck!?]

This exclamation didn't come from Caelus but from the system.

The system never expected that the first task it activated would be of such an impossibly nightmarish difficulty!

Impossible! How could anyone possibly achieve this?

Seeing the task reward, Caelus's eyes momentarily turned red.

That was a hundred pulls!

A full hundred pulls!

However, correspondingly, the task's difficulty was absurdly high, hardly something achievable in the initial stages.

Snapping out of the excitement over the hundred pulls, Caelus steadied his mindset and refocused on the present.

"System, draw cards!" Caelus shouted energetically, and the system interface popped up in his mind.

[Host, before drawing cards, I suggest you deal with the skirt and leg garters first, unless you want your other half to think you're a pervert.]

"Other half?"

Caelus was bewildered, then, driven by some strong intuition, turned around to look not far behind him.

A sleeping beauty lay quietly on the ground.

Dressed almost identically to Caelus, her hair was a dusky gray with faint dark golden hues, casually draped over her slender shoulders like the fur of a gray wolf, exuding both wildness and softness.

A few strands of hair fell into her collar, clinging softly to the exposed fair skin of her collarbone, adding a touch of languid charm to her delicate yet slightly aloof face.

She's really beautiful.

No, wait—*I'm* really beautiful.

Such a thought naturally flashed through Caelus's mind.

When Stelle didn't speak, she was undoubtedly one of the top-tier beauties in the entire galaxy!

"No, hold on."

Snapping out of the charm spell cast by the galactic succubus and stellar essence, Caelus was taken aback.

If this world has Caelus, then why does Stelle exist?

Aren't these two supposed to be the same person from different timelines?

"System, explain."

[Well, the specifics are a bit complicated. It's hard to explain in just a few words. I suggest you deal with the current situation first.]

The system's voice sounded as though even it felt guilty.

To divert the host's attention, the system quickly triggered the task module in the background and generated a mission.

"…"

Caelus understood.

Forget it. Things are actually pretty good as they are now.

"What kind of material is this garter even made of?"

Caelus tugged hard at the blue garter on her leg but found it impossible to tear. It took a great deal of effort just to remove it.

As for the skirt…

Without any other clothes, taking off the skirt would mean running around naked, wouldn't it?

Wouldn't that make her seem even more like a pervert?

Kicking off the ladies' ankle boots she was wearing, she stepped barefoot onto the ground.

After checking her reflection in the glass wall, Caelus reluctantly decided to endure it.

Stelle's skirt had a cool, mature style to begin with, and with Cealus's stunning looks, she actually pulled it off quite well—at least she didn't look like a pervert.

Caelus crouched down in front of Stelle, gently tucking a strand of soft gray hair behind her ear, pondering what to do next.

Ding!

The system's task notification chimed again. Startled, Caelus opened the task interface, and her face immediately darkened.

[System Task: Seize the moment and go for it. With looks like mine, it's hard not to feel turned on.]

[Task Reward: 30 Crystals.]

[Time Limit: 29:59]

"System, what the hell kind of task is this? Is this something a normal person would do?"

Looking at the task, Caelus couldn't help but complain.

[Um, host…] the system cautiously began.

[Although I issue the tasks, I have no control over their content.]

Just as humans can't control their blood flow or heartbeat, the system can't control the specifics generated by the task module.

[Tasks are formed based on the host's deepest desires or occasional fleeting thoughts. Only commission-type tasks are influenced by external factors…]

The system's faint voice seemed to be hinting at something.

Hearing the explanation, Caelus's face grew even darker.

"That's absolute nonsense! How could I possibly have such perverted thoughts?"

Caelus waved a hand dismissively but then caught sight of the mask in his hand, recalling his earlier resolve to face his true self and understand his nature.

Her righteous indignation faltered instantly.

"Alright, I admit I might be a little narcissistic."

After conceding, Caelus's tone shifted abruptly, brimming with fierce determination. "But why is the task reward only 30 crystals? Am I really that worthless?"

[Well, the task reward is calculated based on the difficulty of completion, including psychological barriers and other factors…] The system's voice grew progressively quieter.

"Shut up!"

Flustered and angry, Caelus slammed the mask onto his face with a sharp smack.

A majestic aura emanated from him, as if he were carrying the weight of his companions' sins. Caelus wore a grave expression, sighing deeply in frustration:

"This is how it is for the host. The system just needs to casually click and generate tasks, but the host has to consider so many things."

[That's enough.]

If the system had a human form, it would definitely be sweating with a wry expression.

Just as Caelus knelt beside Stelle, gazing at that delicate face that perfectly blended aloofness and allure.

This lousy task absolutely couldn't be done!

After all, according to the plot, March 7th and Dan Heng should be arriving soon.

Then what about me...

Caelus stared at the gray-haired girl, her golden pupils faintly flickering before narrowing slightly.

Okay this was a hard one since the protagonist said his name was Caelus's Chinese name, I changed it to Caelus but since I did that it was hard changing it because it had the protagonist and Caelus's name in some parts. I didn't know how to make it different but I tried my best
